I recently bought an iBasso DC-TONFA from Minidisc Chatswood for $529. I’m very pleased with the unit itself, but the service was fairly cold and impersonal.

What I found more disappointing was the inability to back up claims about the superiority of one device over another with actual technical facts or specifications. There also seemed to be very little understanding of FLAC and the importance of lossless audio when ripping CDs. The discussion kept coming back to bitrate and compression, which was not really relevant to what I was asking.

For a specialist audio store, I would have expected a stronger technical understanding and a more informed discussion.

That said, I’m very happy with the DC-TONFA itself and pleased with the purchase.

Bought two headphones from their. Both times had different staff and both times were great, they let me try any demo I wanted with my own phone so I could try different sounds and let me take as long as I like. Awesome, let me get exactly what I was looking for both times

Customer service was great. I had issues with the original Samsung ear tips, explained the issue and was given a suggestion which I jumped on and so far, so good.
Hopefully smaller ear tips can be made in the future and I will get those!

I ordered the iBasso DX260 MK2, and two days later I had it in my trembling hands! What a beautiful object. I followed iBasso's suggestions and began the burn-in process with the supplied cable (just prior to this process, I did a little listening and found the device was a bit harsh and shouty...one set of dd IEMs was very boomy) after a couple of days burning in, the sound was transformed! In this case, burn-in is a legitimate thing👍. Now all is blissful. This is an awesome device.
