Scammers

I was stupid enough to pre-pay for £10k worth of furniture from " Roberto " [ not his real name ] last Oct 2024 - got 6k and still waiting for the other 4 - i have been on his case for months to get a refund - always excuses 1. He got thrown out of his place for failure to pay rent 2. Spent next 6 months in hallway of Sovereign Center 3. The "Sold" his business and moved into new place - never anyone in there so will probably close soon too - Plenty of excuses and promises no action - Avoid plague - wait for next 70% off closing down sale - rinse repeat

I'd give no stars if I could I ordered…

I'd give no stars if I could I ordered abed on 17th January received confirmation straight away and confirmed I DID NOT want to receive marketing. I've heard nothing since! No bed I checked online account it quoted Order Fulfilled I have not received bed! I've email - no answer. I tried to call no answer and no voicemail facility I can't afford to lose £250 and I need the bed very soon

Another visit to Meridian furnishings…

Another visit to Meridian furnishings Boscombe to purchase a chest of drawers. We received exceptional customer service from Roberto who was so helpful to us with his friendly advice. Delighted with our purchase. We will definitely be back. You have the most beautiful unique furnishings and very reasonably priced. Thank you so much Roberto. We will be back to see you again soon.

Customer service awful!

Customer service awful! Bought a desk which came with incorrect assembly screws which led to desk top splitting. Meriden admitted own fault and offered partial refund. I said no as wanted this resolved as desk is unusable. They then offered me a new desk on the basis I go and buy packaging and boxing for this large item (it had been 40+ days since I received item so original packaging had been disposed of). The management team are now saying this is my fault and they cannot assist me further. I raised a complaint about a member of the team which he is refusing to pass on to management as "they'd say the same as what I've said".

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! ordered a chair (through ManoMano with Meriden being the seller) and only the next day it was reduced by £200. I emailed to cancel the order so I could re-order at the lower price. As soon as I notified Meriden they put the price back up to the original price and then stated that it had never been reduced. I provided them an email from the customer service team who confirmed it had been and a screen shot of the chair at the reduced price. I got some rather blunt replies back the last stating “as a business we do not offer compensation or any goodwill gestures” but they did give me the opportunity to return the chair at my own expense with an extensive list of criteria that must be met! Dishonest company with appalling customer service

Avoid Meriden Furniture

Ordered a sofa but I got the measurements mixed up and the checked my order, quickly realising the sofa would not fit my living room. Requested a cancellation before the order was processed, let alone delivered. I was directed to submit a reason for cancellation to which I explained my reasons. I received an automated message stating they would get back to me within 48 hrs. Received a response asking me to take pictures and box back up the sofa and that it must be in its original condition and boxes before they would collect and refund my money. I replied stating that I had not received the sofa and that it still had not been processed, so please cancel and do not deliver. Automated response saying again we will get back to you within 48 hrs. Next day I received a text to say the sofa was being despatched and delivered in the next two days. Sent a pleading message not to send and please cancel. While at work they delivered the sofa, convincing my wife the sofa wasn’t as large as we believed and if she didn’t accept the delivery we would be charged for a wasted trip and find it very difficult to receive a refund. Returned from work to receive an email apologising for misreading my request from 3 days ago and advised that I just refuse the delivery and they would refund our money. I wrote back to say that this was all too late and it was now stuck blocking my hallway. I requested an urgent collection to which I received the usual automated response and a proper response two days later asking me to take photos of all parts of the sofa and photos of it packed back up and properly packaged back in the boxes. They where adamant I did this as evidence the sofa was not damaged so I actually had to open everything up, take pictures and then box it back (jenga is easier). Received a reply saying they would collect in around 14 days. I requested an urgent collection, explaining all the mistakes that had been made. I received a further email saying they where happy with the photos and they would arrange collection but they would be charging me £50 as this was deemed as a change of mind. Obviously I was outraged at this charge, saying I was not happy and this was not a change of Mind request and a I requested a cancellation almost immediately after I placed the order. After 9 days and 3 Attempts to get them to collect and drop the collection charge I still have not received a collection date, just another email saying it is definitely a change of mind request and they will charge £50 if they collec. The last insult was their statement saying that if I was not happy with the £50 charge then I was more than welcome to arrange my own courier to drop the sofa off at their warehouse.

Avoid, Avoid anything to do with Meriden Furniture. They usual sell through over furniture sites, so please be careful of these incompetent and unhelpful people.
