I’ve used Mediaworks in two businesses for over 5 years for website migrations, search engine optimisation and paid search.
I have always received a professional, metric driven and result orientated service from Mediaworks. I have piloted alternative agencies in the short term but have consistently defaulted back to Mediaworks due to their superior results.
They have consistently optimised paid search, driving down cost per lead and balancing this with our organic position. More importantly, they helped us drive down cost per acquisition over several years by working together to establish an accurate CPA attribution model.
We began with a pilot of a percentage of our European media budget, that resulted over 12 months of a transition of our entire European and US online media spend.
Their technical SEO checks and migration plans are thorough and great value when you compare to undertaking the same checks in house. My experience with Mediaworks has come from working with their team on two separate occasions for two companies.
Initially it was a small SEO project aimed at increasing the positive exposure of already established company in a very competitive market.
Following some brain dumping of how the other directors and I wanted the company to be viewed in the public eye, along with discussing realistic short term targets, the folks at Mediaworks delivered exactly what it said on their tin.
When I required further services at a second company 2 years later, I had no doubts about wanting to give Mediaworks the chance to bring something new to the table.
The something new I required was based around local market trends, needing to know when and where certain focuses were needed. They also provided the SEO when the timing was right during the project, which if done at the wrong time with the wrong information would've been a huge misdirected spend.
Over the course of the project we were able to visualise trends which without the correct data would never have jumped out at us.
Needless to say that I would and do continue to use their fresh approach to this digitally weighted world.

An exceptionally poor SEO company
MediaWorks cold called us as we had suffered declining rankings due to algorithm updates. Unusually I was swayed by the smoothness of their sales process, so much so that I started using them for 3 of my companies... huge mistake...
They achieved no positive results and consistently missed their own promises. After much arguing, a director of MediaWorks got involved. He was sincere and seemed like he could help turn things around.
Sadly no joy. I'm not convinced they actually know what they are doing as they could never explain why their work did not help our rankings.
Our rankings did not improve. Any work they did do achieved nothing positive. They also misled me about having completed link disavows. These were never actually completed at all, despite MediaWorks telling me how vital these link disavows were.
Now they want to sue me for refusing to pay their bills.

We started to work with Mediaworks in March 2013, when they took over management of our PPC efforts. From the start their analysis of our account and their subsequent proposal was clear, concise and more importantly; it was absent of all of the inflated results and bluster you can often find with agencies in this sector.
As we already had an established and exhaustive account, comprising of multiple large campaigns (covering hundreds of ad groups and thousands of keyword terms) I was expecting a reasonable transition period with little to no improvements. To my surprise I was very pleased to see a significant increase in ROI and overall revenue from our PPC campaigns within 2 months of Mediaworks taking over the account.
Mediaworks have been a key partner over the last year. They have helped us to drive forward our business, maintain an overall ROI of 350%+ for our PPC spend, increase revenue from this source and ensuring that we have held our ground (and performance) in the face of aggressive, focussed competition from the biggest names in commerce (including Amazon and Ebay).
We are delighted with their performance and the quality of communication between our organisations. As a result we are utilising the expertise they have demonstrated to push forward aggressively into export markets this year!

Disappointed, below par campaign set-up and a lot of money wasted
We called upon Mediaworks to help set up our PPC campaign back in July last year. At first they seemed like a quality agency, spending a lot of time on the phone wooing us over with talk of how they could increase our traffic and conversions using PPC.
As a small, start up company we asked if they could set up our PPC campaigns for us and train our staff on maintaining them. After sending emails requesting an audit of our campaign performance, noticing that the conversions and CTR's were not significantly increasing as promised, we were ignored. I can only assume that as a small company paying little by comparison to a lot of the larger companies, they saw us as a bit of quick business.
After looking elsewhere for an agency who would do an audit of our campaign structure and performance, it appears that our fears were not unfounded. We were told that basically our ads were not performing as Mediaworks had got the strategy completely wrong and set up the campaigns and ad groups to target keywords that were too broad and that we didn't stand a chance of getting onto the first page of Google for. They also did not link up conversion tracking for us so we had to constantly flit between Google Analytics and Adwords to see what was working to some degree and what was not. We were also informed that the campaigns set up by us in-house were actually of better quality than those set up by a supposed 'Adwords' professional which is pretty awful when we had put our trust in a 'PPC professional'.
As a small team, new to online marketing, it rather feels like our limited knowledge of PPC was taken advantage of and we were mislead in order to gain quick business.
