Unwilling to help if anything goes wrong
Arranged finance through Match Me Car Finance for a 2025 Kia Niro PHEV (registration LD75VSN), funded via Startline Motor Finance. The transaction fell far short of transparent standards:
Concealed Commercial Taxi Provenance: The vehicle brokered had previously been registered and operated as a commercial private hire / taxi vehicle. Prior commercial use is material information under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and CTSI guidance, yet it was never disclosed during the application.
Unauthorized Add-On Financed: An unauthorized £449.00 "LifeShine" paint protection charge was bundled directly into the core borrowing before any customer agreement was signed.
Admitted Financial Detriment: The lender (Startline) has already conceded in writing that motor dealers will reduce trade offers on this vehicle due to its commercial history, yet Match Me set this up at full, clean retail valuation without proper provenance checks.
The agreement is now subject to formal legal pre-action protocol and regulatory dispute. If using Match Me, conduct your own independent council taxi licensing and HPI checks before signing any agreement they arrange.
