Ordered a dress for my daughter. It took 13 days to have it delivered. It said next day. Total scam and no care labels on the items or brand name. They do not operate from London as suggested.

I came across Mary Boutique by chance and initially believed it to be a genuine, UK-based store. The website presents the brand as offering carefully selected, high-quality pieces, supposedly dispatched from a London location. Based on this impression, I placed an order for three items.

Unfortunately, the items I received were extremely disappointing. All were made from cheap, synthetic polyester that clings uncomfortably to the body and feels hot and suffocating — completely different from the quality and materials implied on the site. The pricing and presentation led me to expect much more.

What’s most frustrating is discovering that the items were shipped directly from China, even though the website gives the impression that the products come from the UK. If I had known this, I wouldn’t have ordered. This feels intentionally misleading.

To make matters worse, after receiving my order, I can no longer view the original product pages or fabric descriptions — making it impossible to verify what was initially promised. That alone raises serious concerns.

I’ve reached out to request a full refund and return instructions and am awaiting your response.

Frankly, if I wanted cheap polyester, I would have ordered from Shein — at least their prices reflect the quality you receive. This experience has been not only disappointing but also feels deceptive. How businesses like this are allowed to operate and mislead customers is beyond me.

I hope to hear back soon with clear return and refund steps.

This company makes it nearly impossible to return anything to them the quality is terrible if you try to return they make a discount for you to keep .I f you still want to return you have to do so at your own expense to USA .They do not comply or even acknowledge the distance selling regulations,I would never use them again

A total scam paid over £60 for 2 shoddy dresses. Emailed them 5 august re returning items still have not heard

The sizes were totally off, the quality is horrible and when I asked to return the items I was only given an option of a voucher to buy more. The website now doesn’t seem to work.

Avoid like the plague!!! What a scam! I really wish I had read these reviews before ordering because clearly the amazing reviews on the website are fake. There’s nothing ‘London’ about them. I bought 2 dresses, 1 is just about ok as a holiday dress for the £25 I paid. 1 is awful quality, supposedly a size 14 but more like an 18, the front seam has not been sewn so it is unwearable anyway and I have to pay for the return costs, which it states on the website, but being based in ‘London’ I would assume I’m paying to return within the UK but no, it was shipped from china and I have to return it to America. Despite being faulty, I have to pay for this. Absolute scam 😡

Not from London. Size wasn't as expected. Emails offered 15% then 35% rather than returning. 3rd email they gave an address in China. Return Address: Lane 1177 Jianlan Road, Meixu Street, Yinzhou District, Ningbo, Zhejiang 315100, China in original packaging, unused. Provide a tracking number and pay for own return costs. I'm not sure I can trust them to pay out even more money.

Scammed company. Very poor quality of clothes coming from China. They advertise for sustainability of clothes I would be curious to know what they do in concrete in order to be sustainable.

The website is a scam and the information is misleading. They claim they are closing down and that’s why there’s heavy discounts on all items. They claim that even though the store is closing soon, all items can be easily returned within 30 days. Once you place the order, it takes 15-20 days for it to arrive and the styles are not at all what you’d see in photos on the website. They are badly stitched, poor quality of cloth, they didn’t have tags so can’t say if they were brand new and not at all worth the actual price quoted (before the apparent closing down sale). It was a mistake on my end not to check that returns address is to California. When they were contacted about returns, they asked for photos of what was wrong (everything was wrong!!!!) and then they offered 20% refund without the need to return items and then that went up to 30% and then 40%. They claim that all returns go to a charity and the cost of shipping which has to be a tracked courier service from the UK to the US is to be borne by the buyer, so they are doing a favour by offering a percentage of refund. Their name and website seem like it’s a U.K. brand but it’s obviously not. Not quite sure how they can get away with misleading advertising on social media and running this business with so many customers complaining against them. This is unfair and cheating.

SCAM company. Spent just over £50 on items I had to wait 3 weeks for. When they turned up they were absolutely terrible. I asked for a refund and was refused. Instead they said they would send replacements if I sent them £17 for shipping. Absolute joke. How can these people get away with this.

Don’t waste your money buying from them. It’s not a boutique from London, first of all, it’s a business from China, with cheap stuff. After waiting 2 weeks for my dress to arrive, I received a piece of cheap material from a China company “ CAINAO”, that’s worth less than a pound. When I’ve asked for my money back, I found out I have to pay for the return to USA. Also they offer me £5 back if I am not happy to pay for the return. 🤢🤮

A total disappointment, the dresses are cheap and flimsy China goods. Material is cheap, dont be fooled by the pics, they are nothing compared to the what you see in the photos. Not worth the price. Don't waste your money.

This company advertise they are based in London. They are NOT. The 1st i knew was after I ordered a dress,I got an email about a delay because of shipping. They are from China. My dress did arrive after 10 days,it fits well and it's nice material. I will never use them again though !

Not an independent boutique closing its doors in London like it claims to be. It’s a Chinese company shipping from China and the dresses are overpriced unbranded tat.
Shipping is not quick as it’s got to make it cross border. Final mile is Royal Mail but the label states return address of 4PX which is a well known enabler of drop shipping in China!

If I could give 0 Star, I would! This is a SCAM!

The website is selling under the guise of a London boutique fashion at higher price point currently having closing down sale 60-80%!
It has very good 5 star reviews on their website and offering easy returns, if need be. I fell for it because of the 422 good reviews and more so because it is London- based. Bought 5 dresses and paid £183.56 after massive discount.
I wished I came here first because after digging more and seen these trusted poor reviews here, I immediately called my credit company within 15-20 minutes to cancel/ reverse the payment. Unfortunately, payment had apparently went through and has to wait for the arrival of these dresses to be able to open a DISPUTE should the dresses are indeed below standards. I contacted Mary boutique but declined to cancel. 12 days later the dresses arrived and lo and behold, these are indeed BELOW STANDARD, poor quality made of cheap material/ fabric. They are NOT THE SAME QUALITY OF DRESSES ADVERTISED but are cheap copies, awful dresses I would never wear. These are Temu quality dresses you can get for £5 or £10, if that. They are not worth the money even after substantial discount. I had multiple correspondence with them asking for return for a full refund, sent photos as required ( they did reply) but I was only cheekily offered 10% refund and keep the dresses, otherwise I apparently have to return internationally to US or Poland at my cost which is high.
This international return policy was not there in the beginning, it was supposed to be easy, hassle free return according to “Mary”, but can’t even find that now. I insisted on UK return to SOUTHALL as that was on the Return address on the package but now I am ghosted!

Please save yourself from hassle, DO NOT BUY!
I am sure there are many others who have gone through this already. This is highly and professionally operated scam. Shameless and disgusting! I shall be contacting my credit company soon.

I paid £79.99 for a dress and when it arrived it was awful! The material is so bad and cheap not worth the money I paid.

Avoid at all costs. I am in the process of returning this item, to be fair their communication has been good they do get back to me but they are trying hard for me not to get the refund and to get store credit instead. I’m not sure weather to follow the return instructions and pay for the postage because reading all these comments I have a bad feeling I will not be getting my money back.

I ordered three dresses from what I thought was a London-based boutique “closing down” — Mary Boutique. What I received is a joke compared to what was ordered. Cheap materials, poor fit, and nothing like the product photos.

Turns out, this is a Chinese company pretending to be UK-based, hiding behind fake “London” branding and tons of clearly fake 5-star reviews.

I tried to cancel my order within 24 hours, but was told it had already been “processed.” It didn’t arrive until 15 days later, and after I asked to return it, they completely stopped replying.

Avoid this shop at all costs – is a scam. Total waste of money and time. Don’t fall for it like I did.

Don’t buy from here!!!id actually give no stars!!! I bought a dress for £24.95 and its original price was advertised as £99.95! No way was it the original as it struggles to qualify for the £24.95 price!! I’m in the middle of trying to get a refund but they are offering 10% and keep the dress! If I send it back it need to be sent to some black box in USA which is a charity thing so the dresses are cheap as if they can afford to do this and it is the seller who has to foot the postage!! Absolute scam and false advertising. I don’t know how people like these are aloud to do this.
