Thank you for your order! I'm sorry you felt the package was difficult to open. We package our maps carefully between multiple layers of carboard, and the map itself is packaged in a bag with a board. The packages are easy to open with a small, sharp blade, like an exacto or razor blade, and it is unlikely that the map will be damaged. I have not heard of anyone having trouble opening the package, and I would not recommend using a steak knife to open our packages. I hope you are happy with the map and I hope it was not damaged when opening the package. Thank you again!

Gosport Shipyard map
Very nice 1857 map of Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia. Also contains map of the Gosport Naval Shipyard currently the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Excellent Gift!
First time ever purchasing an item like this. Customer service was excellent, and they allowed me to easily change my order when I decided to include framing. Quality of the map was phenomenal, as was the framing work; looked even better than photos online. Made for a thoughtful, unique gift for my twin brother. These maps are a wonderful idea for someone who’s hard to buy for!
