Mad Science Bewertungen

My four-year-old daughter attended the Mad Science Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire “Epic Explosions” Holiday Camp at Salcombe Preparatory School on 28 October 2026. The day cost £52 and was advertised as including four experiment blocks, hands-on science activities and take-home projects.

However, my daughter said that she only drew, painted and played outside. She did not describe any explosions or science experiments and brought home no completed science project. Her drawing for me was lovely, but it was not the science experience that had been advertised and paid for.

Her backpack contained a “Stopper Popper & pH Test Strips” item, but she said they had not used it. There was also a handwritten private address inside, which was concerning.

When I arrived around ten minutes early, I politely asked if I could briefly see the room, but staff firmly refused and said they were preparing it. I was also told that the Halloween experiments had taken place the previous day and that the insect activities would be held the following day. This does not explain what children actually did during the advertised “Epic Explosions” day.

I am extremely disappointed by the difference between the advertised programme and my daughter’s actual experience. I have requested a clear explanation of the activities delivered and a full refund.

Mad Science of Hertfordshire - DO NOT USE
They took our money. When my child realised that the classes were not as advertsied they refused to refund the balance. They offered us a credit note which we would simply never use. She then sent an email looking for sympathy as apparently "Mad Science of Hertfordshire is a non-profit, single-mum owned business" . Does this entitle anyone to run any organisation this way.
Do not use them. Classes are not as advertised. Run by unproffesional people .
Please pass on to anyone who is thinking of making a booking.

Our half term Mad Science Camp in Hitchin was cancelled at 10.30pm, two working days before the camp was due to start leaving us hardly any time to find an alternative. The cancellation was sent from an email account which was unable to accept responses. We were offered alternative camps over half an hours drive away which were obviously unsuitable. Refund process was not automatic and could not be done from the cancellation email.
