Do not rent from this company. It will save you money and headaches.
On April 11, 2026, I rented a vehicle from Car Rental Luxury Latam, S.A.C R.U.C 20608552449
I inquired on WhatsApp before reserving the car. I asked the basic questions when renting a car: insurance and unlimited mileage. The representative (no name) who answered my question said on two occasions that their insurance covers everything and is included in the rental price. They offered to deliver the car at an affordable price, which was convenient, so I accepted. I don't think they have offices, which is why they offer delivery and pickup at a reasonable price, and they probably don't have a fleet of cars, as they announce in their brochure. We agreed the car would be delivered at 11:30 a.m., but after some changes, it still hadn't arrived by 1:30 pm. They informed me that another car type was sent because the one I picked was damaged in the car wash. Around 1:50 pm, the driver arrived with the car. We went over the contract, and to my surprise, they required a warranty deposit of $2,500.00 or 10,000.00 Soles.
I questioned this, but the driver could not answer my questions. I, however, accepted the contract, but to my luck, their credit card link to withdraw the deposit was not working. So, the driver requested to take a picture of my credit card and kept trying. Since it wasn't working, I offered to pay $300.00 in cash for the rental and asked them to keep trying to charge the deposit, which they agreed to. While we were checking the car, I noticed the tires were worn out, and one was low on air. We drove to the closed tire repair, and they found 2 nails and 1 screw. The repairman tells the driver how much it will cost to repair, and he communicates to his counterpart. I heard the tire repairman say it wouldn't hold the drive, so I stepped in and explained that choosing the cheaper option to fix could be dangerous for us. I asked the driver to approve the repair cost. By then, it was 2:30 pm, and we lost the day.
I took the car, but that left me with a sour taste. The next day, my CC company called to ask whether I should approve the $2,900 charge from the company in Peru. I immediately denied the charge because it was supposed to be $2,500. Then I researched the company and found bad reviews citing malpractice, dishonesty, lies, scams, and other issues. Yes, I should have checked it before renting. Lesson learned.
After several back-and-forth messages on WhatsApp, when I asked for the name of the person I was speaking with, I was told I had spoken with Carlos Gonzales. He contacted me because they couldn't get the deposit. I told him I wouldn't make that deposit and asked them to come pick up the car, charge me for one day I used the car, and asked to charge me for any other expenses, and reimburse me for the difference. They did not reimburse me. At this point, I had to take my losses, but it wasn't the $2,900.00 they wanted to charge to my credit card.
I am writing this review and will post it on various social media platforms to inform and help prevent anyone from considering renting a car or hiring one for transportation. I wanted to help local businesses, but I failed myself. If you read this, rent a car from a reputable company. It will save money and headaches in the end.
