I have been going to the Southampton salon for years now and the customer service is always second to none. The manager Paoulo is always so helpful and friendly-nothing is to much trouble. I usually see Cydni for my appointments-she is so knowledgeable and friendly and knows exactly how I like my hair without me even saying anything! The whole Southampton team are fantastic, they are always so warm and welcoming. The level of knowledge and and expertise they have is exceptional-there’s nothing they don’t know about hair loss 🤗

I’ve been going to Lucinda Ellery in Edinburgh for almost 5 years now. Darren and Shannon and all the staff who work there are fantastic. You know that they care and understand what it means to be suffering with hair loss. I would recommend them to anyone who has problems with hair loss. I love my hair now …. they literally changed my life ❤️

I have been suffering from hypertrichosis which is genetic, my hair loss made me steer clear of hair salons as I felt I always had to explain why I had patches of hair loss. After months of reading reviews I took the plunge and had a consultation with Lucinda Ellery. The Southampton branch was convenient for me also. Very nervous of my 1st visit, however Paulo and Sydney made the experience very positive and I came out with confidence and a great hair cut! For the 1st time in years people commented on my lovely cut and what products was I using! Since my 1st system was fitted a year ago visit regularly for adjustments and am welcomed by all the team warmly. Thanks Paulo, Sylvia and all the girls at the Southampton branch for making me feel normal and for the copious amounts of tea (and chocolate) x

I have been going to the Southampton Team since May 2021 and have always been greeted and treated with such kindness and love. You are made to feel very welcome and special on your first day, and every day to follow. Every member of staff is on the journey with you and takes an interest not only of your hair condition, but of your life, which makes for such a personal and beautiful experience. I look forward to every appointment because I know I can have a relaxing hour or two of gossip, prosecco and good times. Paulo has a very special team and I will/have recommend Lucinda Ellery to anyone I know who has been faced with hair challenges. It has been the best decision I have ever made, and I will continue to be part of the Lucinda Ellery community for the rest of my Alopecia journey. They really are a special part of my life :)

I had my first system fitted there and I would never go anywhere else now.
I always feel very welcomed by the lovely staff, they are all kind and compassionate, they take their time with you, they listen and nothing is too much trouble.
I cannot rate this place enough and would highly recommend.

To write a full review of the way in which my daughter was treated by Lucinda Ellery would take too long so this is as short as I can make it whilst still giving the gist of the experience.
She was originally having the intra lace system but by the time she had her appointment she had lost most of her hair so was advised to have the free wear system fitted.
After sitting in the chair for about 9 hours she was sent out of the Salon with an ill fitting, cheap looking, bulky wig. This wig was supposed to be European hair, it was thick hairs and definitely not good quality. Not only was it bulky but it didn't fit properly and the lace top had bald patches in the front parting. It was certainly not the quality and fit expected for the price, and wasn't fit for purpose. She was almost pushed out of the door at 6pm (after having to pay in full) because they wanted to close. She had told them she wasn't happy with it and they said to come back for the next appointment and they would fix it. She felt so embarrassed and upset by the awful wig that she plonked a cap back on her head and did a 3 hour train journey alone crying most of the way home. We went back to complain and were offered the choice of a refit/fix or a refund. We opted for the refund. They then subsequently only offered 50 ‰. We took our complaint to the credit card company who upheld our claim for misselling and not fit for purpose. LE then got the legal team on to it and they said that because my husband had paid for it but the contract was between them and my daughter they had no legal obligation to make a refund. They eventually grudgingly gave us the 50% (we had the 50 % offer in writing otherwise I'm sure they would have wriggled out of it) and we returned the wig.
The way they treated my daughter was disgusting. She was already traumatised about losing all her beautiful hair (she has universalis and this was to be her first wig) and they heaped more trauma on her. They accused her of using the wig system as a try out. As if anyone would go through 9 hours in a salon chair and £2700 for a trial. As if anyone who was suffering from this horrible condition would put themselves through this. Eight months later she is still without a wig. She is still traumatised by the whole experience and suffering from depression. I don't blame LE entirely for the depression it's a process of grieving for her loss. However had they treated her with kindness, empathy and respect she would probably have handled the situation better.
Apart from the trauma that she has suffered I think she's better off without the system, we had a lucky escape . If they had done the alterations to the wig to make it fit for purpose the 3 monthly maintenance costs were going to be in the region of £1000 a time which allowed for salon hours and a whole new front piece each time. So the £2700 piece would have cost another £4000 every 12 months for maintenance.
This is a money making heartless company. They do not care about their clients they are only about the big bucks. Steer clear.

I had my first intralace system fitted at the Southampton studio after suffering with thinning hair from various Heath conditions, I was desperate to feel like me again. Paolo,Sylvia and beautiful team of ladies absolutely have restored my confidence from first stepping foot into the studio feeling so nervous to leaving, I was treated so well made to feel comfortable the team could not have been friendlier!. Having been in salons a lot, this salon didn’t have the intimidating feel you usually get from your high street salon, it had a welcoming and warm feel.

My hair has absolutely changed my life stepping out of the salon was the first time in a long time I walked with my head up instead of looking at the floor!!. The confidence and happiness I felt was unmatched.

Paolo and the team are informative throughout the application they answer any questions, they teach you how to look after your system and show you how to style your hair. My follow up appointment for a hair wash was also so informative the products that I left with are lovely too.

The Southampton salon is just an outstanding salon with the best experience from start to finish it’s so convenient as well with car parking so close as well as hotels and train station all with walking/short taxi distance.

This is a specific review of Southampton studio. I have left a general review of the product and my experience as a long-standing client of Lucinda Ellery elsewhere.

I moved to this studio when it opened. Even though it is a 50 mile drive for me to get to it is far more convenient than London.

First impressions on walking in is a feeling of a positive vibe: staff smiling, clients smiling. This is a testament to the management team led by Paolo.

All the staff are caring, compassionate, and probably passionate also about what they do. Dealing with a natural product will always throw up the occasional problem but these are dealt with without fuss. The studio is small, intimate and comfortable and even though as with many clients I find hair loss an embarrassment I have never felt uncomfortable in this studio.

If I had to sum up, caring, compassionate and professional and every time I leave it is with a feeling of having had a positive experience.

From the age of 17 I have been a sufferer of androgenic alopecia and have been wearing a wig for the last 7 years. Although my hair loss wasn’t significant, over time I noticed it getting worse and I decided to wear a wig before I got to a point where people noticed my hair loss. While wearing a wig served its purpose I always felt conscious that other people could tell I was wearing one as well as being limited to certain activities I could do.

I first discovered Lucinda Ellery 10 years ago on a TV show. The interlace system looked amazing but I was always fearful of taking the plunge due to costs etc. However, due to the limitations and barriers of wearing a wig, I finally decided to give the interlace system a go.

Despite it being early days into my Lucinda Ellery journey, I can wholeheartedly say that it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Two weeks into wearing a system, my life feels like it has changed dramatically. I no longer have the fear of others realising that I have a hair replacement system. I now have the freedom I never knew I could possibly have.

The salon experience was warm and friendly. I felt at ease knowing I was surrounded by people with the same difficulties as me, as well as the empathy and understanding of the staff. From a young age I had always hated going to the hairdressers. And for the first time ever a salon experience had felt normal, even enjoyable. I love my new hair. And I am certain I will never look back.

I just had my 3rd system replaced yesterday at the Southampton branch, the attention to detail, advice, care and overall amazing experience I received was just outstanding.
I am so happy with my new hair, what a fantastic team :-)

I have been attending the Southampton branch of Lucinda Ellery since my first intralace system back in 2018. I have always found them to be fantastic team of dedicated professionals who have helped me with my hair loss.

I think a real sign of how good a company is, is how they handle things if something goes wrong, which unfortunately it did for me when I had my second intralace system. After highlighting the issue to head office, The whole situation with my problem was dealt with quickly and professionally with no hesitation from Head Office or Southampton. I could not have been happier. I have no hesitation in recommending Paulo and the amazing team at Southampton.

I have had a parting system for FFA which gives a fantastic result , it has needed a couple of minor adjustments over the years and these have always been dealt with great care and consideration . Sadly my experience with Lucinda Ellery has not been a positive one and nor has their feedback.

After two years of research into the company and the intralace system, in October 2020, I felt it was time to go ahead with having a system fitted to cover a patch of scarring alopecia on the crown of my head caused by lichen planopilaris. My hair had also thinned on the crown and I wanted to feel confident again.

I went to the Bristol studio for the fitting. The procedure was extremely painful. (This is one thing they do not warn you about in advance, though you are advised to take painkillers before your appointment!) However, the result was lovely and the aftercare not too arduous.

My warning with the system is not with the concept, which seems to work for many people, but with the skill and experience of the technician who fits and adjusts your system. Hair panels are sewn on to the system whilst it is in place on the scalp. The thread used is thick and can produce a rough tapestry of stitching that sits against the scalp. In my case, I had a panel at the back of my crown replaced after a year of wear and the rough stitching dug into my scalp causing soreness and irritation. When the system was removed for the 6-month wash, my scalp had been so badly damaged that I had open, weeping lesions. I was advised to go straight to my doctor and was told by the salon that the system could not be reattached until the scalp had healed.

It is my firm belief that the stitching on the system caused the damage to my scalp. Following my experience I wrote to the Lucinda Ellery head office and sent photos of my scalp and of the underside of the system, but their response was refer me to my signed consent form. At no time was there any acknowledgement from either the company or from the salon that their system may have been at fault, nor did they wish to examine the hair system to see how rough the stitching was. I felt, sick, humiliated and abandoned through the whole experience.

Four months later, and after a course of strong antibiotics, I am wearing a wig. My hair has not regrown and is unlikely to do so. I still find the concept of removing my hair at night difficult but I would never go back to a Lucinda Ellery salon again.

I wasn’t going to mention the cost, but there again it was expensive. I wore the system for 20 months and spent £4,150.

Do please consider all the risks before you go ahead.

Thought long and hard before committing to having a hair system and now wish I had it done years ago. Not cheap but for me worth every penny. Everyone has said I look 10/20 years younger and look great.
The day of fitting was long but staff were kind, friendly and obviously experienced and good at what they do. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff made sure I understood and felt happy at every stage
Much cooler than a wig and looks very very natural. Have given 4* as only just had done and have to see how I get on with the care of it and follow up visits 😀
