Only because Zero is not an option

Why a 1 star? Because I cannot give a minus 10. And this only part of the problem.

The good: the service was great from start to pickup. They negotiated a good deal and gave me a break on the warranty cost. I purchased it on Feb 1 and picked it up Feb 5. Of importance: the salesman had told me I had a 15-day drive-away warranty that would take care of anything that happened in that time. The warranty was to start on when I picked it up.

Before I purchased the RV at , I asked if I could have an inspector come in. They showed me a blank pre-delivery inspection (PDI) sheet and confirmed that they check everything the inspector checks, so - stupid me - I believed them and did not have it inspected.

Hell Begins: On Feb 7, I rolled down the window and heard cracking noises. It did not roll back up. I texted the salesman & advised of this and that there was a “growing list of things that need taken care of," let them know that I was 4 hours away & asked them to find a place and call and alert them that I was coming. I learned after driving another hour away that they simply Googled some places and gave me a location. Upon arrival I was told the service department was closed on Sunday. The nearest place was Tucson. When I called LaMesa back, they apologized, called their location in Tucson, and I drove there. Of note: before they sent me to the other place, I told them that I would go to Tucson if I needed to, but they instructed me to go the opposite direction. *I again asked for the PDI, which I did not receive.

The staff at Tucson was great, but could not fix the window, so they did what they could. Because it was late, I stayed the night in Tucson with plans to return to Phoenix. On the 8th, I texted he salesman again, advising of the items needing repaired.

I mentioned several times that I had a hard deadline to leave Phoenix Feb 10, and was assured they would have it done. I got there and, even though they knew I was coming, it took them an hour of bouncing me around to get my RV in. At 5:00 James LeMaster told me they could not get it fixed until maybe as late as noon the next day, so they paid for a hotel. I called at 10:00 the next morning and it turns out it was fixed by 5:30 THE NIGHT BEFORE, but James did not bother to call me, even though he knew the importance of my leaving.

After leaving on the 10th, I began to notice they had not fixed a number of things, so I texted James from the road that evening. He said he never received the list from the salesman and finally allowed that when I arrived at my destination to find someone to fix the items on my list. *I again asked James to send me the PDI.

I arrived to my destination Feb 13. By March 16, all hell broke loose.
• A major leak was found under the sink and at the water tank, discovered when I filled my water tank.
• A bad motherboard in my fridge.
• A bad faucet in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
• A leak in one of the skylights.

I contacted James advising of the problems and asking for information. No reply until I texted back and told him I got in touch with the warranty company. When I called the warranty company, they said everything should be covered and to go ahead and have someone come look at it to start the claim. *I again, asked James for the PDI. I have been waiting since then to have the claim approved.

My repairman who came to look at the damage said two important things:

1. They could not have done a pre-delivery inspection or they would have found all these problems.
2. All of these problems were pre-existing.

Today, my repairman advised that there is a problem with the warranty: they are not approving it yet because there are only about 2,000 miles on the RV since it was purchased and it has been red-flagged and sent up the chain of command for review. I have no idea what is next, but I can only assume it will be a fight with either the warranty company or LaMesa.

Do yourself a favor: DO NOT go to LaMesa RV. They will sell you trash and smile while they are doing it.

La Mesa RV Bait and switch sales tactics…

Thought bait and switch sales tactics were gone? no, they are still alive and well and practiced daily by La Mesa RV.

In short, I was told by a La Mesa salesperson at the Pleasanton Alameda County Fairgrounds RV show (Jan '25) to put a down payment on an RV that I was seriously considering.

This deposit would ensure that I had secured the vehicle from sale to anyone else for 24 hours.

After completing all the form(s) to do so and providing them a credit card to charge the deposit, the Manager said unequivocally that "He can't do that..."

I told him that I would have an answer in 24 hours whether I wanted to purchase the RV, based on my overnight review of the vehicle in question.

The salesperson said that they do this deposit/purchase an RV regularly, which is why I decided to move forward with a deposit.

After taking 2-1/2 hours of my time in moving the transaction forward, to post the deposit the Manager didn't care, nor make any attempt to honor what his salesperson(s) had promised to complete the transaction.

The Manager approached the transaction like this was a common denial occurrence...

I would recommend other RV vendors, as you simply cannot trust La Mesa RV. Who knows how long they will be around if they practice these egregious sales tactics.

Just read their reviews by Google, Yelp and Trust Pilot, they are terrible. Additionally, they have an "F" rating by the BBB and numerous lawsuits that involve selling illegal vehicles and not honoring warranties to buyers of Rv's. Wish I would have done so prior to engaging in any dialogue with any of those dishonest employees...

LaMesa runs a scam operation. Beware!

Port Saint Lucie Florida. There are dealers who are very honest, explain every detail in full, and play no games. Sorry, this dealer is not one of them. We had trouble right from the start. We asked for a new 23 Class C. They asked about a leftover 22. We said definitely not. No leftovers. They brought us a new 23 in the configuration we wanted, bedroom in the back. At signing I asked for them to get us 2 years of license tags. They had 500 of my money and each year is but 115 so they had enough. They said ok. A week later I picked up the tag. It was only 1 year and they charged me 225 for an original tag fee after I gave them a tag to use and would not have had to pay the origination fee. They refunded me the 225. A year later I couldn't get the tag renewed for another year. They had registered the RV as a 23, using the RV number rather than the Ford VIN. I had to call my insurance to give them the correct number and State Farm said they had to correct the year as well, as it was a 2022, not a 2023. LeMesa lied to us and sold us a leftover 22. Now, the work really begins. Florida Attorney General. Courts. Attorneys. Expense after expense coming, but all worth it to put these crooks on notice the buyers don't like being scammed.
