It was a great experience from start to finish. I was kept well informed and notified of what was to come next.

The worst mortgage company ever! The customer service is impossible to reach. They were supposed to lower my monthly mortgage amount after I changed the insurance company and the prior insurance company had already refunded them. This was also resolved after a 3 way call between Lakeview, myself, and the old insurance company. But they kept charging me the higher amount under old insurance company’s amount next month. One of the staffs was rude and sarcastic when I finally got hold of her, and inquired about the higher amount.

This company is at best a circus masquerading as a loan servicing company, at worst an outright legal scam. I have been trying to work with them through the short sale process for 8 months at this point, I have given them every document they asked for and all information they requested. The house has been under contract pending sale for months, the buyer ready to go, and Lakeview just sits on. Their hands doing nothing. I ask for updates on the short sale application and every time I receive the response that "it is in underwriting" for almost 8 months. Now, they send me a letter of proceeding with foreclosure when I've been waiting for them to finish their approval process for the short sale that they have been dragging their feet on.

My advice, don't have a financial hardship while you have a mortgage with Lakeview, they will screw you over every chance they get. Refinance with someone else with a clause that Lakeview is not able to buy out your loan.

My wife and I started a recast of our loan on March 24 2026. This company approved our recast and immediately cashed our $400k check only to drag there feet until May 20th 2026 when I called then and demanded the approval letter to be expedited. I was told multiple times on previous calls the letter was in the mail which was a complete lie! An emailed letter was sent to me on 5/22, two days after my demand to finish this recast. I printed the final recast agreement, signed it and called Mr. Cooper/ Lakeview loan for installation to mail it back ASAP. At this time I was informed they rejected our recast. What a nightmare. We were informed our loan was being transferred to M&T Bank and we would have to go through them to recast. They know this was in the pipe line and strung us along the entire time!! They wouldn't even refund our money!!!!! This has been the most ridiculous and frustrating attempt at what is the simplest transaction out there. They are holding us hostage and we are absolutely steaming!!! Lie after lie after lie right till the very end! I would highly advise everyone not trust this company with one of your largest investments..

Unfamiliar dealing with HELOC. Lakeview was involved with my mortgage in 2014 so I figured sure, I'll go with them again.

The worse mortgage company I ever had to deal with. Cannot get answers for my questions that make sense. Then when I asked to speak with a Supervisor I was conveniently disconnect. I called back and asked to speak directly to a supervisor. After being on hold for 7 minutes I was told there were no available at this time. They did offer a call back. But we all know that is one way of getting out of the phone call! The customer service is a bit to be desired. I will be getting my mortgage out from under them. I hope you do the same. After all it is my money I am protecting without Lakeview Mortgage incompetency. Please go to another mortgage company. Save yourself a lot of problems and monthly phone calls for incorrect bills!!!

They kept trying to call me and call me bunch of loosers waiting to pounce you .check out all the law suites against them.
Alot of claims with BBB. THEY ARE A COMPANY THAT I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BEWARE .

Great app and great overall experience

The process was easy. My agent was pleasant and responsive to my needs.

Lakeview had bought our mortgage and started servicing the loan. Within a couple of months they approached us with a refinancing offer. It was in line with the best market rates. The refi process was very efficient and simple with great communication. I would highly recommend them.

I thought my HELOC loan interest rate was 9.3%, it turns out It’s 9.3 plus the margin of 2.55, a rate is 11.85%!! This was not clearly communicated or fully transparent through the application process and I feel taken advantage of. The number continually discussed was 9.3 and even to this day the dashboard has no mention of this additional margin which feels intentionally disingenuous. I’ll be finding another loan to replace this one in the near future.

We recently did a HELOC and Lakeview made the whole process smooth and easy! Always kind and professional phone representatives, and are so helpful with any questions or concerns we may have!

Communication could absolutely be improved upon by the loan originator and processors. Despite multiple emails from me inquiring about escrow discrepancies with upcoming property tax payments due, I received a couple run-around replies and eventually no answer. The exact scenario my email was concerning occurred and they left me negative in escrow barely a month after refinance.

Almost a week later, I received an escrow check, but I was previously informed (after asking about the net escrow agreement in my closing documents) that I would not receive an escrow check from my original account as it was being applied to the old loan during the refinance. I expressed confusion as I hadn’t seen net escrow used in that capacity but agreed nonetheless.

I’ll rescind my comments about deceptiveness and unethical practices as it just seems to boil down to poor communication, but the entire post-closing portion of the process did not feel reassuring. Not sure I would recommend staying with this company after this experience.

I had a great experience they were very fast getting back with me and we were able to complete everything online, professional and quick helped me finish my project.
