Last year, I purchased a winter jacket from Krakatau for over 500 EUR. The reason I chose this product was its design, which I still find very appealing. However, the quality has been extremely disappointing and far below what one would expect at this price point.
Within less than a month of use, one of the hanging loops ripped off while I was simply carrying the jacket on my back. Although I appreciated that this issue was initially addressed with a replacement, the problems did not stop there.
After less than two winter seasons of use (in total no more than six months), the jacket is now falling apart in multiple areas. The stitching is coming loose, and in some places completely ripped, to the extent that the inside of the jacket is visible. This is unacceptable for a premium product.
I contacted the customer service expecting a reasonable solution, but was instead advised to take the jacket to a tailor and repair it at my own expense. I find this response highly unsatisfactory. A brand that positions itself as high-end should stand behind the durability and craftsmanship of its products.
Is this truly the level of quality and responsibility Krakatau represents?
I am extremely disappointed with both the product and the lack of support provided. I will not consider purchasing from your brand again.

It’s a nice jacket, but the size is wrong. The postcode for returning it is incorrect, and they’re not replying to my emails so I can find out where to send it back and ask for a refund.
I wanted to buy it again in the right size, but I don’t trust them anymore – I’ll end up losing both the money and the jacket. And I’ve been charged an extra £60 for postage and tax, which I wasn’t made aware of at all.
Be careful.

I returned the products and have been waiting for the refund for 35 days (€900+).

I reached out multiple times to Customer Service and they simply stopped replying.

Would never recomment. This is the same as to put your money to trashbin. The quality seems to be very low. It looked ok max one month.

Tessuto vecchio opaco che perde colore ,punti bianchi veramente un pessimo acquisto. Ne avevo comprato uno , parla tecnico 3 in 1, circa 8 anni fa ed era impeccabile, cosa che mi ha convinta a ricomprarlo ne abbiamo comprati due ed è stato un disastro , tutto macchiato immediatamente ere il colore che andava via e non era nemmeno nero, ho potuto fare un cambio al negozio di Roma ma è stato la stessa cosa se non peggio, il servizio clienti krakatau declina ogni responsabilità dicendo che non è un loro problema e che dobbiamo parlare solo col negozio ma sono loro i distributori , le tintorie in cui sono andata mi hanno dette la stessa cosa : il tessuto è vecchio, imporrito e scolorito . Mai più comprerei da loro

I bought the snorkel parka 4 years ago. Warm, rather waterproof and very useful with all the pockets and various features. And to top it off, that stylish urban outdoor look is unmatched. If you can buy their gear with a discount, it's probably the best value you can get for winter. Great alternative to more expensive and less original stuff like TNF.

I bought a Planck qm481 coat recently. Although I like the styling, and it has a couple of nice features, I think this brand is more about fashion and marketing than about functionality and ruggedness. Don’t expect it to last long, such as a Berghaus jacket or similar. The material of the outer shell is pretty flimsy and already I could see that some of the seam tape is detaching at the corners. At 450 euros this is not acceptable. Made in China, by the way. I think someone is making a lot of money here.

Don't buy this products if you want to be safe and not wet.
In the discription it said waterproof till 11000m h2o but my other jackets that coust 20 euro are more water repalant or resistant or whatever you want to call it.
I ouwn a Maium and they give waranty till 5000 m h2 o and its 2 time cheaper and i have never been wet for 2 years.
Krakatau jacket is expencive but low quality product.
I bay it from JHP Fashon and after i was waiting for more then 2 weeks this is what they replay- This type of jacket is not waterproof (or water-resistant as your customer calls it), but the fabric has a “water-repellent coating”. What is actually harmful is that the fabric is treated with a spray that repels water. However, this does not mean that the jacket is waterproof. The stated “water resistance” of 11,000 mm H₂O means that it can withstand a light rain shower. The coating will continue to retain water up to a certain point, but it will stop at some point. In any case, the strength of the coating will decrease over time, and it will always have to be treated again after washing.

They advertise their gloves as waterproof, but they are rather water absorbent. I 10/10 DO NOT recommend this brand. I am now not allowed to return the gloves because they are used. But I needed to use them to learn that they will take 2 days to dry from a Dutch downpour of rain. Super unimpressed. The clerk at the store mentioned the technology in the gloves is the same as in their coats - so I am relieved I returned that. Reason for returning it is because it did not look like the picture.

Having bought a coat that claimed to be waterproof at 15000mm on the label, I tested it under moderate rain 3 days after purchase and my shoulders got soaked, the inside of my pockets damp as well. I read more carefully about the coat and realized that the fabric was waterproof but the seams not. I wrote to the company to inform them that, although I understand the difference, it is a technicality that the consumer won't deal with, to differentiate between the quality of the fabric itself and the end quality of the jacket, and when the jacket says "waterproof" on the label, it is expected to be waterproof altogether. I meant this as honest feedback, as I thought this was a commercial trick and didn't worth the quite high price; much higher than e.g. a didriksons or Helen Hansen with the same technical features.
Their response was: it's clear what the jacket was, I shouldn't expect it to withstand rain and if I wanted waterproof they had a more expensive model which I could buy!
This is irresponsible, disrespect and unfair. I was disappointed, now I am angry. This company and its products must not exist around.

Great response from customer services. Purchased a Krakatau Parka. Forgot (my fould) 10% discount voucher.
Sent email to CS with copy of my 10% discount, within 2 working days received confirmation back and on third day credit on credit card :)

Order was never delivered though I paid upfront. Tried to reach them multiple times through multiple channels, no reply. Gave them over a month to reply or fix this. It might look like a legit company from outside, but it’s an absolute scam!

Not great quality. Everything that I bought (pants, hat, shirt) fall apart after few months wear.

Awesome outerwear brand that exceeded my expectations! Great quality to price ratio with exceptional style. But most importantly one of the best customer service support that I’ve ever dealt with. If there is any issue with your order, rest assured you will be well taken care of. Special thanks to Carlota who doesn’t leave the case until the client is fully satisfied! Ordered my Snorkel parka, and quite happy with it! It's warm without being too bulky and is functional with tons of well placed and roomy pockets. You can tell the design is well thought of.

One thing to note is that the jacket runs REALLY big. I am usually an M/L and got this jacket first in M, and it was absolutely huge, so I exchanged it for an S. I believe their size chart on their website is not correct, because the measurements of the model doesn't match the size he should be wearing (based on the chart). Fixing this would be helpful!

Customer service can be improved, as after a week of returning, I got no response from them. When I called CS, they sent it immediately - seems like they had forgot about it until then. However they were really helpful when speaking with them.

Servizio clienti letteralmente imbarazzante, mi sono messo in contatto con il servizio clienti come da istruzioni, per la sostituzione di una giacca con la stessa di una misura inferiore.
Passati 3 giorni ho nuovamente inviato una mail cercando di sollecitare, finalmente ricevo risposta, peccato che nel frattempo il colore della giacca in questione non era più disponibile della misura che desideravo, allora nonostante la frustrazione accetto di prendere la giacca di un altro colore, da allora non ho più ricevuto risposta ma la cosa davvero incredibile ed inaccettabile è che mi hanno bloccato, in sostanza la mail non veniva recapitata, allora ho provato a mandare una mail con un’altro indirizzo ed è partita…

Sono davvero senza parole

Es ropa de calidad, abrigada, muy ligera y de buen diseño. Tuve que cambiar una parka y el envío lo pagué yo, pero merece la pena; del modelo que elegí sólo puedo quejarme de que la capucha es inmensa!
