I'm an expert on the website, I have funds in my wallet that aren't being released to payoneer, despite 5 days since the supposed date when they should've been released. Kolabtree won't respond to any tickets / mails I send to them. I've seen other people at random have problems with the automatic transfers too. This is completely unacceptable. Such a platform should either work towards providing a manual transfer option or at the very least improving customer service. Very disappointed.

Edit: the CS services have given a response in the meantime, excusing themselves under the guise of financial year-end processes. The funds have been released to payoneer today, 07 april 2026.
The website is legit, although the customer support response times could be improved, as well as transparency with expected delays.

I have been registered as an expert for about 10 years. I had a PhD at that point and some years of experience as a postdoctoral scientist.
I have never found a request that was worth my time: very demanding projects requiring very high levels of specialized competence, in a very short time, with pay that may not be worth the time even of a person with a Master's. The best is that the platform would take a significant fraction of the payment.

Be careful with consultant Khalil Ahmad on this platform. He provides plagiarized work and uses his academic title to deceive clients. Kolabtree has been notified of his fraud.

I have been using the platform for the last two years, during which I have landed several good-quality projects and gained multiple repeat clients. However, I must say that the platform fee is quite high; depending on geography, it could be as high as 30%, which discourages many clients who have to pay a freelancer fee along with the platform fee. Still, in my opinion, this site is a class apart from the likes of UpWork.

Things were going great the first 8 weeks as a mathematical physicist. There are a few minor issues with one or two bad clients who do not release payment and then have to chase up. Which is not sorted. However, I make a lot more on the platform and this is not too big a deal. What is, is that since December the 3rd now I have not been paid! Despite the bi monthly payment. Prior to this it was all smooth and payments on time. I am getting very concerned it is now 19th Jan. Chased up numerous times but haven't heard anything. The money is my wallet. The platform have not released it!

The whole experience would be made better if there was a better way to get paid the whole bi monthly thing is very ambiguously described and inconvenient

I am extremely disappointed with Kolabtree. They are currently withholding two different amounts of money from me and have ignored multiple consecutive support tickets.

1. They are blocking a payment to an expert for a completed phase of a project, despite the project's urgency.
2. They are refusing to refund a remaining balance from a cancelled project, even though the contract was officially terminated.

It is unacceptable to ignore a client who is trying to resolve financial issues.
I have already filed official complaints regarding the first amount, and I will not hesitate to take further steps for the remaining funds.

Warning to others: their support is non-existent when it comes to financial disputes.

It is the best platform for freelancers, scholars, and students.

Part 2. They replied to look into the matter after my first review but its been a week since i last heard from them again including the Christmas break. Currently still waiting for the 400+ USD to be funded out of the project and refunded

Will be taking legal actions

A few days after writing the previous review I received an email from the support team. They apologized for the delay and said I would be refunded in 2-3 working days.

I am still waiting.

Once again, beware of this platform

What an amazing platform! Not all experts are inventors in their field, and not all inventors are experts in their field of invention. Kolabtree structurally understand this and enables the collaboration between invention and expertise in a professional way like no other platforms!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY* I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, their “support team” does not respond! The freelancers on here are real be extremely cautious but I would recommend working with them outside of kolab tree it’s safer than to anyways. I submitted my funds and they were never accounted for & now in the process of getting my money back I reached out to their support email after weeks, and weeks of trying to reach someone I’m left vacant! I see this is a common issue now

The customer service helped me solve challenges I encountered when coordinating with freelancer. The experts from Kolabtree are phenomenal in the quality of their work they produce.

Rubbish customer service. Do not care about the client and never reply to emails. I wanted to get refund on a project because the expert didn’t deliver any work, i sent them an email but never got back to me. Avoid this scammer company

4 week update, 11/19: KT finally sent me an email in response to this review. They promised payment by November 15th and asked me to remove this review. The invoice is still unpaid.

I am a medical writer with about seven years of freelance experience. I work on multiple platforms, including KT, with which I have not had problems before. I typically use KT for 2–3 projects per year, as it is not my primary revenue stream.

In August, I completed a job for a client, and approximately 12 weeks later I have still not received payment. The client placed the funds in escrow, but the money has not been released. I have sent polite messages through the platform, and while I do not assume any malice on the client’s part, Kolabtree has not taken steps to ensure that they are notified of my messages.

I have sent multiple emails to KT with no response. I have opened support tickets with no reply, and I have informed KT that I will no longer be using their services, again without any response.

There appears to be zero support for the services KT charges quite heavily for. At present, the funds remain in escrow and are inaccessible to both me and my client, with no communication from KT.

Kolabtree was a great platform for linking me up with a subject matter expert in a somewhat unusual field. Once I got the hang of the platform it was easy to use. The entire experience was just what I was hoping for.
