False alarms! Three times in a month at the EXACT time of day (3:00 am!) I followed all instructions (like blowing compressed air in). DO NOT BUY. They will not admit there is a problem.

NEVER had a problem like this with any other smoke alarms and other alarms in other parts of the house do not do this.

So far 3 of the 4 smoke alarms I have purchased have malfunctioned within a year. Customer service has done nothing to fix it. Do not buy this product

Very poor product - K10SCO: Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm states a warranty of 10 years but failed in less than 5 years. Tried cleaning & changing batteries with no luck as it just beeps continuously (faulty product). Customer support number available online just goes into a inbox that says no one is available to pick up...DO NOT BUY

Why don't you use rechargeable battery technology on certain detector since they are always plugged in its stupid to use AA batteries.

What a joke - I just had a "rookie" (it admitted it itself) trying to help. Customer service is outsourced to "RSVPComm" as I had to an email a pic and it went to a "spam" address. I provided a picture of a disabled alarm. Her manager says it doesn't look like it was completely disabled by the fire dept when they had to respond to my elderly mother's entire house going off in the middle of the night (no smoke). They said it went off due to dust. How do they know? Now I have to go buy one for her since they are not guaranteeing their product. This is on top of having to get all 6 units replaced 7 years ago as they do not last their 10-year warranty period.

These alarms used to be great until Kiddie took over. I bought a four pack of smoke alarms and 3 out of 4 beep all the time. They are brand new and have new batteries as well as have been cleaned multiple times and still beep all the time. One of them won't stop at all and we cant even use it. Over $100.00 and don't work for crap. Nice😡

My alarm is malfunctioning. The company confirmed it is defective and said they would send a replacement in 7-10 business days via FedEx. After 14 business days and no replacement I called again. I was told the replacement is on back order and they do not know when it will arrive. You wait on the phone for 30 minutes for Customer Service to answer. Kidde makes DEFECTIVE safety products and there is no urgency from the company to replace a defective product!

I purchased a Kidde P4010ACSCO hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide alarm with a 10-year sealed battery from Home Depot in April 2022 for about $79. In June 2026, the alarm began going into false alarm mode approximately every 154 minutes, making it completely unreliable.

What has been even more disappointing than the product itself is Kidde's customer service. Home Depot directed me to the manufacturer because the unit is covered by a 10-year warranty. After three emails, one phone call, and an online chat, I still have no replacement and no meaningful resolution.

A smoke detector is a life safety device. If it constantly false alarms, people begin to ignore it or disconnect it, defeating its entire purpose.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product or Kidde's warranty support. I expected a 10-year alarm to last much longer than four years and for the manufacturer to stand behind its warranty. Instead, I'm left with a $79 alarm that is unusable and a company that has not honored my expectations for customer service.

I will not be purchasing Kidde products again.

Do not buy this brand! They are nearly impossible to contact. Non existent customer service. When calling expect to get an extremely long wait. They do not respond to emails which leads me to believe all customers are having problems.
Go for another brand.

Wired smoke detectors that are supposed to last 10 years have failed three times so far in ten years. So basically at least every couple years they fail extraordinarily LOUDLY, screaming Fire and beeping at 3am, waking everyone up like a brutal torture device. I have to climb on chairs and spray them with compressed air and then a few nights later it starts all over again. I don’t think they care about this. They just send more crap units. They are sensitive to dust and spiders so i spray them regualary and they still fail, screaming in the night. I hate them. Now they are sending new units and saying i have to go buy adapters for the wiring harnesses!! They refuse to supply new adapters!!

I would have given "0" if possible. We bought 9 Kidde alarms which have a ten year life. After about 4 years over a period of months every alarm failed. In most cases this was in the middle of the night waking up us and the kids. Then we need to go through the process of identifying the malfunctioning unit as the units are hard wired together and you cannot tell which unit is going off. When we called the company, after waiting for over a half hour - it was suggested that the failure was due to our maintenance and also that we needed to prove the units were malfunctioning as they "could not just take our word for it"! Absolutely crazy customer service - completely unhelpful. We will get unit somewhere else - I am surprised and disappointed that Home Depot sells this junk.

Do NOT buy Kidde smoke alarms. They have been extremely unreliable in my experience. We have had to replace them every 1–2 months, which is both frustrating and expensive. A smoke alarm is something you need to be able to trust, and these have consistently let us down. Kidde should be ashamed of the quality of this product.

Spent $120 on 4 smoke alarms 2 months ago. Installed all 4 of them and have now had two of them send false alarms so I’ve had to permanently disable them. They both happen to go off at weeks apart while my 8-10 month old son has been asleep causing him to obviously wake up and freak out. These things are absolutely junk and a waste of money.

I bought 9 smoke dectors for my house in January 2025 they worked for a week. Then they would go off in the middle of the night for 1 minute then stop they would go off when there is no fire. new smoke dectors with 2025 date on they. i have been dealing with this issue for 5 years with the kidde smoke dectors not good at all. i throw all of they in the garbage and bought first alert smoke dectors working just fine. the smoke dectors i have are hard wired so all of they go off

I’m a professional electrician. I’ve fitted thousands of smoke, heat, CO2 alarms of all types RF, inter connect, battery and lithium battery I’ve even linked them to UPS. Systems.

Don’t buy another Kidde product. The quality of the units is shocking, there are expensive, they are constantly being recalled by manufacturer. Customer service doesn’t exist. As an installer tech help tells you to go back to wholesaler as a wholesaler it tells you to fill in forms!

Fire Angel alarms are robust, less expensive and actually have a help line… check out how high their rating is

Don’t not purchase 10year battery smokes they are defective and kidde knows it but they won’t take any accountability for their faulty product. Leaving electricians with the bill for call backs on Kidde Faulty products. Wont ever install another kidde product again. They lying saying they have no known issue with products
