Reception Desk arrived damaged

Reception Desk arrived damaged . Under Australian consumer law - they are meant to replace, refund or repair . They did none of those . You couldnt talk to anyone . It was a terrible experience. Never again .
I would strongly recommend to NEVER EVER use this company. I actually have applied to Fair Trading to try and get this resolved because this company just ignore email after email. After sending about 20 emails they offered 10% refund which is not good enough, I am entitled to a replacement or refund which is what I asked for .
Deceptive behaviour by this company , stay clear of this company .
The response they have written below is absolutely fabricated - they would NOT replace the reception desk or refund , it wasn’t a tiny surface scratch - the entire reception desk had pieces completely broken away . 10 per cent partial refund is unfair - o am left with a faulty reception desk .
It wasn’t a $200 item - it was just under $2000.00
Very dishonest company to deal with and I will NEVER use them again .
The lies below with their responses are ludicrous & lies .

Misleading and deceptive conduct

Liars, terrible service and communication, misleading and deceptive advertising. We ordered a desk worth over $3,500 on the 31st of October 2025, its now the 16th of January 2026, still no sign of the desk. They repeatedly lie on the phone and via email, saying the delivery is on its way, but that is not the case. They are also misleading and deceptive with their advertising on their website regarding delivery times. Based on other reviews I've just read, the quality of their products do not match the descriptions on their website either. I've reported them to Consumer Business Services as well as the ACCC today. My son is also a lawyer, so we're taking this terrible organisation to court, to stop them from ripping off more people.

Saved us a lot of time

We ordered this reception desk for our office and were really impressed. The best part is that it arrived fully assembled, so we didn’t need to install anything at all. We were able to put it straight into place and start using it immediately, which saved us a lot of time and effort.

Terrible quality

Great bar table

I’m really happy with this bar table. The quality is better than I expected for the price and it looks great in my kitchen area. The tabletop feels solid and well finished, and the frame is sturdy enough to feel secure even with daily use.

Terrible

Terrible, do not shop here. the quality is terrible. the shelf can barely even stand. let alone hold any items. it wobbles like crazy and its incomplete. no headboard so the cupboard is open at the back haha. customer service is also difficult to, it appears to be a chinese company, that gets supplies from china. the delivery times is also up to 3-5months.
They will not offer refunds even if the item has issues and defects, dont even try.

I purchased an item worth $370, and it is without a doubt the dodgiest product I have ever received. The customer service is absolutely non-existent — emails are ignored, issues are brushed off, and even after providing clear photo evidence of the fault, they refuse to take any responsibility or offer a proper resolution.

The representative, Archer, continually delays responses and avoids accountability. After reading countless similar complaints, it’s clear this company has a pattern of poor service and dishonesty.

Save yourself the frustration and money — this website is a complete scam. You’ve been warned.

BEWARE! Chinese flat pack garbage!

My employer purchased reception desks from this company believing that they were great quality, how wrong we were. Chinese flat packed garbage, half the pieces were either missing or damaged! Will definitely be warning everyone about this shotty company and their poor customer service. Gone are the days where you pay top $ for a quality product, absolute scam.

Fake company Don’t Risk It

Fake company. Not up to Australian Standards. Should be investigated for fraud. Steer clear unless you want to be disappointed and ripped off. Won’t be purchasing again. Cutting my losses.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I purchased what i was hoping would be 2 x reception desks that would last a lifetime. Instead i was met with complete and utter JUNK.

Two desks that are different to one another, missing parts, different shapes, parts do not align, drawer runners missing, different colors to whats shown online, damage to ALL surfaces, incorrect color, stickers for another company sent mistakenly to me, exposed fasteners, incorrect instructions, dimensions were so askew that the drawers literally fall out when pulled on, different drawer knobs for the same desk drawers, a 4 kilo bag of fasteners where you only require 1/10 of them leaving you scratching your head.

I was even given a small clay crayon to "fix damaged surfaces"??

Once the first desk was opened i literally recorded myself unboxing the second desk from scratch only to reveal a crazy amount of dents scratches and damage direct from the company. (which Kaguyasu Australia blame on shipping).

I had my lawyers talk to them and all they did was pretend they didn't receive correspondence and dance around the fact that they supply hardworking Australians a putrid product. Archer - you should be ashamed in the company you work for and disgusted in yourself - have some integrity. In the end, i expect no less from a cheap Chinese company using a false website as a front for a genuine Australian Business.

Don't be fooled, they only thing Kaguyasu Australia can do well is make a website which inaccurately depicts a product they don't sell.

After two weeks of dancing around a refund Kaguyasu Australia never intended to issue, i hope your company enjoys dealing with both NSW Fair Trading and the upcoming formal legal proceedings.

Purchase at your risk

Purchase made around 29.4.25 with 6-8 weeks delivery promise. Received the product after follow ups around 30.7.25 i.e. 3 months and not what was promised. Full amount taken upfront so your money is locked in for the whole period of delivery. This is not fair to customers and especially when timeliness are not fulfilled.
The hardest part of this purchase is assemblying the product. I've bought many of such DIY desks here in Australia and you've a clear step by step approach with accurate guidelines to completion. This one is way off the mark. A professional, will still struggle to pit this together in my view.
As many have said, the guidelines provided through few photos on a 2 page print are only helpful to put parts of the base together. Even that, you need to think through a lot to be able to do it. Some of the parts didn't have requisite nuts fitted in the panels that can hold the bolts provided as described. Reported the missing parts but was met with consistent silence. In the end, I just had to do with the best available to mount the base.
The real challenge was putting drawers etc together. Aside incorrect and poor labelling, there are holes in places which pose challenges in fitting together i.e. whic one goes where. After a lengthy struggle and several mistakes with holes in different many places in fitting them together based on photos, i managed to put them together as best as I know how. Few crooked layouts in the finishing but there's no other way as the customer service stopped and business whatsapp contact vanished from my screen - couldn't chat any longer with someone who used to respond sparingly on my ongoing challenges.
The whole experience is very negative especially in assembly. It's way too difficult as there are many pieces but labelling is poor, guidelines inadequate and you'll need to figure out a lot. A video was sent to me via whatsapp. It helped a bit but I was stuck in many places as it was a very simplistic visual presentation when fitting the drawers.

Incorrect pieces and poor customer service

I ordered a desk from Kaguyasu Australia and the experience has been incredibly disappointing. The instructions originally stated there should be 23 panels, but I received only 22. When I contacted customer service, I was repeatedly told to “just build it as per the instructions” – despite me sending clear photos showing the issue.

Eventually, I was emailed new instructions saying there were actually 24 panels, but with major contradictions: panel #15 doesn’t exist, and #16 and #17 are the same piece. I was told again to rebuild, even though the panels provided had no holes where they should have, making assembly impossible.

When I requested a refund, the service team insisted there was nothing wrong with their product and that I was simply in the wrong. I was even told I’d receive a call from the manager — a call that never came. I spoke to the service team again on the 20th of September and was assured that the manager would call.

At every stage, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, leaving me feeling completely gaslit.

I can accept that companies make mistakes. What I cannot accept is being blamed for their errors, denied a refund, promised a manager call that never arrives, and told to follow instructions that clearly don’t match the product I received.

I have spent 7 hours trying to rectify the problem but they still refuse to provide a refund.

Avoid this company. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes, and they will not support you if their product is faulty.

*DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE* I ordered a reception desk 15 weeks ago, apparently 'still on hold by customs' I have attempted to call the phone number on the website, disconnects after one ring, I have emailed multiple times for a full refund, the standard reply I receive is 'still on hold by customs' with no acknowledgment of refund. I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC but I warn you, do not purchase from this company.

This particular shipment has been held by Australian customs for a full inspection. Unfortunately, customs inspections are random and beyond the control of both the seller and the shipping carrier. While such checks do not happen often, once a container is placed on hold, it must go through the entire customs process before it can be released, and neither we nor the freight company are able to intervene or speed it up.

We want to assure you that we are actively monitoring the status with our logistics partner and will update you as soon as there is any progress. Normally, our orders are delivered within the estimated lead time shown on our website, but in this case the delay is entirely due to the customs process, which is an uncontrollable factor in international shipping.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, and we deeply appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to follow up until the order is cleared and delivered to you.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This is by far the worst experience i've ever had dealing with a company. Purchased a reception desk for $1300. Got sent the WRONG panels, the WRONG instructions and the panels were all damaged. The product was NOT fit for purpose, was NOT as advertised and overall the quality was terrible. I cannot stress enough how terrible the service is too. 30 emails and 4 weeks later they argued and refused to refund the product even when it was damaged and the wrong product was sent!!!! Disgusting behaviour and i the website reviews are clearly fake!!

Avoid at all costs, i cannot stress enough how terrible this company is. The products are absolutely terrible, the support is non-existent and they advertise a premium product?? AVOID!!! SCAMMERS!!!

Under their policy, only the recipient is permitted to request redelivery or collection directly. We regret the inconvenience caused by the damaged panels during transit and the stress this situation has created. While this case was unusual, it does not reflect the normal quality of our products or service. Do not buy from these people

Do not buy from these people, bought a reception counter and ordered 1200mm unit, received 1000mm instead. Tried to call, no answer, tried to email, no answer. Will not fix their mistake, lady called Sarah. Terrible terrible service, 1 month later still not replaced and no answer from 'Sarah'.
