I am loving the Boogie Woogie Mastery course! This is a great course if you want to learn Boogie Woogie, no matter what piano ability you have.
Jonah is a wonderful teacher, thorough and patient, and very encouraging. He holds two weekly lessons on Zoom. The Boogie Woogie Mastery community is also very inspiring and supportive, again, at all levels.
It makes piano playing fun!

I met the instructor, Jonah Schwickert, through his YouTube videos and then decided to start his "Boogie Woogie Mastery" course system. His energy, his pianistic skill, and the way he breaks down complex learning content into small goals and steps were crucial for me.

I would also like to add that I have a huge library of books, video courses, and online videos on learning blues and boogie woogie. Most of them, especially the YouTube videos, promise a lot but usually only offer the usual: a simple bass line for the left hand, followed by a few licks for the right hand. And these are often taught by non-professionals. When questions arise while practicing, the only option is usually the comment function, coupled with the hope of receiving a helpful answer in a timely manner.

In contrast, Jonah offers a complete course system that guides aspiring boogie-woogie players from the basics to advanced levels, while also covering "side topics" like rhythmic exercises. The individual, successive lessons include PDFs with tips and clear homework.

The entire course is embedded in a closed, moderated forum for course participants, who exchange ideas about general questions about piano playing and boogie-woogie playing in particular, as well as their successes and failures. Participants can share feedback, praise, and constructive criticism on their playing in their own videos. Jonah is also present here. He acts as a moderator and can quickly address questions, problems, or successes and failures. This is a huge motivational booster to keep going.

Another notable element of the course system is the weekly Zoom meeting of the course participants, where Jonah himself is present to answer questions, offer further tips, and, if necessary, correct playing technique.

Overall, I can highly recommend the Boogie Woogie Mastery System to anyone who is serious about learning this style of music on the piano, whether for personal enjoyment or for a potential professional goal.

Working with Jonah Schwickert and witnessing the evolution of Boogie Woogie Mastery has been nothing short of remarkable. Jonah has put a lot of thought into what Boogie Woogie music is and how to structure a piano course enabling students to make good progress and create their own improvisations.
He begins with a bassline shape and swing rhythm which is repeated over C F and G. Next, a shape is taught in the right hand from which three chords can be made to accentuate rhythm with the right hand. At the same time he shows us ways to get to grips with hand independence.
Throughout the course, common shapes are added to the right hand to create rifs. These repeatable shapes are referred to often and used to create new rifs.
All the video lessons are easy to follow and come with sheet music, notes about the lesson and how to practise.
Group zoom calls are held twice a week to suit different time zones. These are a great time to ask questions, play a piece and get some feedback, etc.

Lessons with Jonah are fantastic! If you're looking to learn boogie woogie and/or blues piano, I highly recommend taking lessons with him. Having taken lessons from other teachers for many years (both in person and online) mainly in classical and jazz, I can confidently say that lessons with Jonah have been the most fun and engaging I've had. I always look forward to them!

Thanks to Jonah’s teaching, I’ve been able to improve quickly in both boogie woogie and blues piano. He does an excellent job of covering the fundamentals while ensuring you understand each concept before moving forward. He also has a great sense of how much you can practice independently, so he doesn’t waste lesson time making you repeat things to perfection before moving on like some teachers do.

He's also been flexible with timing of lessons. When I needed to take a few weeks off for surgery and vacation, he was very accommodating.

Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with my lessons and plan to continue for a long time. If you want a teacher who makes learning fun and effective, Jonah is the one to go with!

Jonah is a cool guy who knows his craft. He's a fantastic boogie-woogie pianist. He's excellent at explaining things in small steps. He can demonstrate and demonstrate everything in practice. He's always motivated himself, and in turn, motivates his students as well. Of course, you have to learn on your own... and practice too, hahaha. But he's always there to help and advise, and I have a very good feeling with him and have made great progress since then. Being with him means having trust! The end isn't in sight, but, as I said, I have to play and practice myself... but I have the best teacher by my side.

At 75 I was doubtful that I could follow Boogie Woogie Mastery as a course and learn my favourite style of music along with Rock ‘n Roll and Blues on the piano. Jonah’s videos on Youtube are so clear on how to start learning that I quickly was able to play a couple of patterns and riffs before starting on my favourite song ‘Swanee River’. I joined the Beginners Course and really enjoyed the modules there, and feel lucky to have Jonah as my teacher. He’s a terrific Boogie Woogie pianist, an excellent teacher and his genuine enthusiasm for his craft is an important part of why I’m enjoying the weekly Zoom calls and look forward to additions to my practice plan on a regular basis. I'm working towards playing this brilliant foot tapping, finger clicking style fluently with Jonah, and recommend him and his modules 100%. Boogie on!

The course program of "Boogie-Woogie Mastery" is structured into modules and guides students step by step into playing boogie-woogie on
the piano. Each module is designed to enhance the "boogie-woogie feeling" in both listening and playing comprehension, ensuring progress
for absolute beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge.
As a beginner, it was important to me that every learning section resulted in a noticeable yet manageable success that I could be proud of.
This motivated me immensely, as I was able to apply what I had learned without feeling overwhelmed. It simply sounded like real
boogie-woogie.
