Joined for ten pounds but because I didn’t want to carry it on I canaceles my direct debit because it was not the best gym full of 16 year olds
So they logged me out of my jd app and don’t let me use gym because cancel direct debit

Big enough not to be too busy in the main area but would prefer a larger ‘Ladies only’section as you can find the equipment and area is a bit restricted sometimes

Middleton - Poor layout, messy, not enough clips or weights in squat racks
Layout of this gym makes no sense, huge sled track and open space with nothing in it, then the busiest part of the gym (squat racks and free weights) all crammed into the lower level.
They also don’t have many barbell clips which is really unsafe
Not enough weight plates on each squat rack (1 pair of 25,20,15,10) so people often pinch from other racks meaning you can be left with only 100kg and have to go scratching around looking for more plates.
Not the cleanest either, and the paint is hanging off the ceiling on the lower level.
Cable attachments are also in need of replacement, all the rubber is worn down to bare metal.
The music is either at full blast or you can barely hear it, on some days it will blast a song or 2 and then nothing for a few minutes, and quite often cuts out so it’s just silence.
Air con is non-existent, they’ve had to put some floor fans in, but only near the treadmills. The lower level is like a sweat box.
Overall, it’s very average. With the space that’s available it could be so much better.

Just joined JD Middleton and can not recommend this gym enough
Clean well equipped and changing rooms are huge
The staff absolutely fell over themselves to help. Showing both me and my husband round and explained everything very clearly

Positive community
The manager Karl and his team are really friendly and helpful, making you feeling at ease to ask any questions or if you need help. A great atmosphere is created at the gym which feels more like a positive community

Cleaning standards aren't great
Cleaning standards aren't great. Chewing gum was stuck on a machine for at least a month at one point and cleaners use the same cloth to wipe the machines where your feet go and where your hands go, while using water/cleaning product from a bucket for all the machines

I’ve been going every day this week and it’s been great, great gym atmosphere. I have came over from a quiet gym in Middleton and thought JD Gym might be too hectic, but it’s been perfectly fine and I’m enjoying it a lot.

Great value Huge gym with all the equipment you need.
Happy to be a new member,great value to for such a large well stocked gym,...the entrance/exit can be a bit of a faff and the air con needs to be turned up on hot days.
Staff are wonderful and very helpful.
Black paint in the main weights room is pealing and needs to be addressed,a lighter shade would help when its being repainted.

My gym is the one in middleton very…
My gym is the one in middleton very good gym enough machine and enough equipments. dressing room is wonderful, the only issue is the toilet is not clean alwys urine leak on the males toilet room and the opening time is not suitable for working people i would recomend if they open 4-5am instead of 6am so for early working people can be suitable. but overall i am very satsfid.

Clean and lots of equipment
The gym is clean and lots of equipment available to use along with a ladies only area which is very beneficial (could do with making the ladies area a bit bigger).

I find the equipment like the rowing…
I find the equipment like the rowing machines and spin bikes very tired. Foot straps on the rowing machines always broken and spinning bikes have no speedometers, and usually have faults

Hello! Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we appreciate it.
We are a 24-hour gym in XXXX, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.
