So far I'm disappointed. The phrases that the blueprint is based on are not new to me but there aren't any more lessons after the first five. Just some stories to watch. Am I missing something? I've made the same comment to the Help line and never heard back.

The course seems well founded, however was not aware that I was only getting a part of the course and needed to pay extra to get the full course.

Just started Japanese Blueprint, and love the positive attitude. I am learning some Japanese words right away, and not working with lists and contests as I have been with other online programs.

The course comes with a great selection of useful resources straight from the get go and more available to download within the course as you go. There are daily “words of the day” emailed through to you and the support has been very good, with the creator being very open to emailed questions and advice and very prompt timing with replies so far. I’m part way through the course and liking the learning style and the layout so far. There are lots of audio materials so you can clearly listen to how words are spoken and it”s broken up into sections with set tasks to do to help learn the materials, for ease of learning. The goal of the course being to learn useful speaking content to be able to fluently converse in Japanese in every day situations, rather than a classic school education of learning a language from scratch letter by letter, which is better for adults learning, time constraints and the reasons why many want to learn the language. It is difficult to summarize how wonderful it is to be making legitimate progress in Japanese after so very long trying . . . but here goes: This is what you need for Japanese progress!

I have studied Japanese for a long time (native English speaker) starting from when I first worked in research laboratories with engineers and medical doctors from Japan (way back in the 1990s). I have traveled to Japan multiple times and can handle technical talk (some English, some Japanese, and some in German, actually) and can also navigate buses, trains, and finding my way solo.
Unfortunately, like many, many learners of Japanese, I have always (always!) struggled with daily (or day-to-day) interaction that could lead to a deeper connection. Although my vocabulary is decent, I did not feel comfortable introducing myself, arranging to meet again, or simple things like saying goodbye (for now). They felt awkward and I am sure they seemed awkward to those I spoke with.

However, with Japanese Blueprint, I am now on the right track! After just a little time working with simple interactions and learning tips for practicing to be confident . . . I have made important steps forward. I actually called one of my best friends in Japan on the phone - a first! - to plan a potential visit and start a new research project! He is a few years older than me, and he asked me to review several items of introducing myself to new collaborators and for speaking with new interns as we might interview them. He was so amazed! [I know him well enough to be able to tell] He wanted to know what had changed . . . why did I sound so much more natural and connected.
He even finally told me, actually, it does not matter how you managed to improve, but you are now sounding more ready than in the 30+ years we have known each other to really start something new in Japan like we have always talked about!

Thanks to Japanese Blueprint, those 'dream plans' are becoming 'real plans' and I cannot wait to keep learning more!

Japanese has always been hard for me to learn and has made me quite anxious travelling … one week after starting the blueprint I see the benefits … makes so much sense .. can wait to keep learning

This course is so well put together and the quality of materials is very high. I have tried some other apps before but nothing stuck. I’m already learning so much and there are so many bonus materials as well! Arigato gozaimasu!

Easy to use app, loads of information , well presented and easy to access at anytime.
Helpful audio for correct pronunciations and daily word. I feel I am just scratching the surface and already have found confidence to have small conversations.Looking forward to the remaining time here in Japan

I have wanted to learn Japanese for a while. I love the food, the culture and have read manga and watched anime since I was young.

This year my dream of travelling to Japan is coming true. The apps never worked for me and to be honest the most I ever picked up is from watching anime with English subtitles.

I then came across Japanese Blueprint. It sounded great so I took a chance and 5 days I can tell you it already makes so much more sense than any Duolingo app ever made it sound.

If you want to learn Japanese, give it a try. It is so much fun and I feel I will not be getting bored of learning like this any time soon. My ambition for the short term is to not be completely lost when I travel to Japan in 2 months and with this program I feel I will have enough of the basics to not be one of those annoying tourists.

I’ve tried learning Japanese so many times before, on my own through textbooks and different platforms, however I always ran into the same wall. With this course I’ve pushed far beyond where the other methods would get me and I’m already able to form sentences and communicate! It’s so exciting and an amazing program!

This has the best way by far to learn Japanese, This will make our next trip so much easier. I love the daily word in my email with clear voice leading the way. The videos have been really interesting to follow and look forward to watching the rest of them.

The Learning Style is amazing! We're about to travel to Japan and I'm really short on time, this has helped me grasp the basics in such a short timeframe.

Makes learning Japanese fun and easy to follow. The audible lessons help with pronunciation and they encourage me to listen to the story over and over and repeat it until I feel confident. There is no rush or timeframe either. I learn at my own pace. It's a great program.

A course that teaches you how to speak Japanese in the same way you learned to speak your own native language…by listening and repeating. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to use more than Google Translate on trips to Japan.

F74, and I just started my Japanese Blueprint journey. I have high hopes for this program, and have heard nothing but high praise for it's method of learning.

I tried DL and learned some basic sentence structure and lots of vocabulary words. I tried JS and refined my pronunciation, but the immersion technique only works if you have a basic command of the language. I recently spent 3 weeks in Japan and, even with what I learned through those two programs, I didn't have the skills to communicate on even the most basic level. Hoping to return to Japan later this year, and with Japanese Blueprint, I feel like I will have the confidence to communicate.

Much more than the usual apps or textbook. Excited to be able to learn the language in a practical way at last!
