Horrible experience with iPlum

#3rd Edit: It's weird that you say I'm spreading misinformation when YOU'RE the only one using verbiage that wasn't in any emails. The email I received said: (And I'll post screenshots if you'd like.)

"Start using your iPlum: 2nd Phone Number App subscription

You've made a subscription purchase from iPlum on Google Play.

Use your subscription within 3 days on an Android device to make sure it's registered with the developer. If you don't use it by Dec 3, 2025, it will be canceled for you, and you'll be refunded for any payment made."

So you say it's from "non-approval" but Google says it's from "non-use". Now, maybe I'm crazy here, but if I get an email telling me to use my application--and that application is a SECOND PHONE LINE, then making and receiving calls from that number would constitute USING THE APPLICATION ON MY DEVICE. Is that a crazy thought? Tell me where I'm wrong here.

So imagine my surprise, while using your application on my device--as suggested in the email--my service gets cancelled. And refunded.

I didn't want it cancelled. I didn't want it refunded. I wouldn't have put the phone number on advertisements and websites IF I WANTED IT REFUNDED!!!!

So, by NO MISTAKE OF MY OWN, your customer support told me that I'd need to pay $49.99 to reinstate a number that I NEVER WANTED CANCELLED.

#2nd Edit. The phone number was registered for a doctor's office whose booking and scheduling is done almost ENTIRELY online. The phone number was simply a formality for anyone who might not feel comfortable with an online format. I'm not sure which phone call would have gotten me flagged for spamming, the ONE TEST CALL I made, or the 2-3 phone calls I received in the few days of service I had with iPlum. I did contact customer service, who informed me it would cost $49.99 to reinstate a phone number that your faulty software canceled.

#Edit, again, you can see them CIRCUMVENTING the problem of my service being CANCELED despite doing what was asked of me.

My theory is they intentionally cancelled my policy because it was thru Google Play and they didn't want to pay a percentage out to a 3rd party. That's the only conclusion I can come to.

So my original post still stands: Horrible experience with iPlum! I signed up for the service and only bought a month when I meant to purchase a year. ($20 bucks a month is a little steep when I can add a second phone line for $30.) Glad I didn't. Once I got my website updated with my new phone number, they canceled my service from "Lack of Use". I got an email that said, "You must use the application from your device within 3 days or your subscription will be canceled."
Well, I figured using the second phone line by making phone calls and receiving phone calls and responding to voice mails would suffice. It did not.
My subscription was canceled much to my surprise. And when I contacted customer support they seemed more concerned that they lost money on my transaction. The cool part? SO DID I! You have to pay $20 extra dollars to be able to text from the virtual phone line, something I didn't know before I started.

But they didn't seem too concerned with my losses. Save yourself some time and heartache and google alternate virtual phone lines for your service. You'll be glad you did.

Your Google Play plan got cancelled by Google due to non-approval by Google & they refunded you. We tried to help you by suggesting alternate methods for payment. For us you can buy iPlum service using Google Play, Apple Pay or online portal. It is all same for us.

Poor Customer Service

Don't expect any help from customer service. They have no one answering the phones. You can email them but the responses to your emails are often unprofessional, short, and poorly explained, sometimes with insufficient information to answer your question or provide a resolution to your issue. Calls frequently get dropped or there are issues answering calls. The customer service people want you to send them the specific calls that were dropped and nothing really changes. I asked them remove my fax number because I moved it to another provider. They told me it was moved and the account was closed, but I was still getting faxes to iplum. Then when I asked them about it, they deleted the account before I could open any of the faxes. When I told them I needed to see those faxes as we are a busy practice and are referral sources are counting on us to receive faxes so we can provide services to their patients, they told me sorry the faxes were gone and they couldn't help me.

You transferred out your number but the new carrier didn't complete the port on their side and that is way your faxes were still coming to iPlum. The email help desk has been super responsive and helpful. 'Im porting from Verizon and had questions and issues and the desk helped guide me along. The porting is not complete so I can't speak to how well the app works, but so far, good help from the desk!

Terrible experience with iPlum

Terrible experience with iPlum. They charged me for a subscription but blocked my account right after. I’ve tried contacting support multiple times through email, but no response at all. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I do not recommend their service.

iPlum is fine!

Quick help was a savior to business

I had an issue in which my ported numbers got mixed up and my fax line deleted completely. This was huge because its a business line and I lost ability for anyone to contact my business. I sent a support ticket and was responded to within the hour. The situation was fixed, the numbers were interchanged with really no disruption to my service. I am so grateful for the help

Do not use this company, they lie and take your money with auto renew

I have 2 numbers with them, and only use one. On july 28, they auto charged my account and i asked for refund. They said no refund. I opened a case with paypal and they blocked me immediately. So 2 numbers i paid them in full have been deactivated. $170 gone and no service. Terrible customer service .
UPDATED: contacted and they denied to refund, and still deactivated my account after taking $170
They responded to me that I am asking a refund after 8 months which is not the case
Who asked you to refund after 8 months? You just auto renew July 28 and then DEACTIVATE my account

Great HIPAA-compliant voicemail!

I am a therapist, and I needed a HIPAA compliant voicemail. I saw Iplum recommended on Reddit. Iplum works so well for clients to leave messages securely. I also use the texting feature sometimes, and that works well also. Anytime I get a call that rings to my Iplum number, I know it's a client. This way I can separate my personal calls from my work calls. It is fairly affordable, and I plan to be a long-time customer.

Iplum has been fairly easy to setup and utilize. There were a few struggles such as how to change over a previous phone number but setting up a chat was easy and they have been very supportive and informative.

Easy to use

I’ve been using iPlum for a few months now and have has a positive experience. The interface is easy to use and I haven’t had any problems with phone calls or texts. It did take a few days to get registered to use texting on my new number, but iPlum was upfront about that.

Worth the investment

Easy to follow instructions with set up. It takes time to get used to using, but great value. The app is easy to navigate. I would recommend to those needing a professional cell line!

I was looking for a HIPAA compliant…

I was looking for a HIPAA compliant phone and text system and couldn't be happier with iPlum. It's easy to use, affordable and has more than enough features for me. iPlum offers tons of information on set up and use, even for someone who isn't a tech expert. I'm so happy I found iPlum.

I am so happy I found iPlum. I was really struggling with enforcing boundaries between my professional and personal life and iPlum really helps me with that! I love that I am able to let my clients know that their texts and voicemails are going to a HIPAA compliant number too! I am thrilled.

1 Star - Consistent Service Failures and Poor Support
We experienced persistent technical failures, including dropped calls, incorrect caller ID displays, and calls blocked as spam. Despite weeks of troubleshooting, iPlum failed to resolve these critical issues, significantly disrupting our operations, it's been a month, they wont refund our more than $100 spent and our service still doesn't work, I've contacted the authorities /regulators. Would strongly advise avoiding this provider.

Edit;

iPlum has asked for another chance to make this right. I've decided to entertain their proposal of refund and reattempt, for a week's time to see if they're service now works as advertised. If it works, they will regain my business and I will pay them monthly as what's right is right.

I plum for my private practice

I started using IPlum to help with my HIPPA compliance and I have been enjoying it. The app is easy to use, I can send and receive text messages without worry that the information will not be safe. The voicemail component is very easy as well as I can use specific recordings to serve my business. The onboarding was fast and easy. The customer service is great though I did not have to use it often.
