I paid this company to help me self…

I paid this company to help me self publish two of my books. I have received broken promises of multiple (16) platforms. They published 2 books ($700) on Amazon (the only platform) and now I am receiving fraud emails from Brian asking for money stating they are selling thousands of my books to a high profile Publishing House. I reached out to this company who verified this was fraud. Becareful - don't use them. I have lost so much money with them already and I have learned the hard way. Inkwaves tried to tell me that a huge Publishing House was interested in buying 5000 copies of my books and all I had to do was pay $12,500 (%50 of upfront costs) I reached out to this Publishing house and they confirmed the fraud for me. Complete Satisfaction

Hello, I wrote my first children’s book with Inkwaves Publishing. The name of my book is THE ABC Children’s Safety Manual by KOKO G ( pen name ). My project manager is Brian Smith and he is Amazing. Brian was very patient and listened to every detail. I recommend this company and I am already preparing to use them for my next book 🙏🏽. My book was published with ease and complete satisfaction !

Absolutely horrendous

Absolutely horrendous. This is a ‘company’ that preys on the inexperienced and naive. Prospective authors, do not fall for their charm and platitudes! If it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is.

They took on my manuscript after convincing me they were a better fit than another small publishing company. I heard what I wanted to hear. While this other company may not have had a lot going for them, at least they had some integrity, which is more than I can say for Inkwaves!

I parted with 4 and half grand (a seemingly far better offer than the original 7 grand I had been quoted).I am ashamed to say I didn’t know better or what to look for. I had hopes that all was decent and above-board. This has been an eye-opening experience that some people just suck.

I was given a project manager who was prompt with communication, but his editing work surrounding formatting and grammar was poor. Again, I turned a blind eye because I saw what I wanted to see. My book was going to be published! This was all just part of the process….

At one point during the back-and-forth, I found 48 individual errors to do with punctuation and formatting. I had to point each one out as they couldn’t find the errors I was talking about’.

Alarm bells were ringing, and I thank God there was a hold up with my illustrator. We were essentially treading water until all the illustrations could be completed. Who knows how big of a hole I’d be in if not for my far more savvy illustrator, who started to smell a rat.

I was offered a contract for a profit of 150,000 US dollars from a certain book distributor, upon completion of my book. I was introduced to this independent party by the Inkwaves boss. Wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if they are the same person, and I don’t mean that metaphorically. It’s literally probably one bloke with two email addresses. It’s giving ‘sad man in a basement with two sock puppet’ vibes.

Who I was introduced to pretended to be someone they are not. They tried to look like one of the big distributors, and I fell for it, for a few blissfully ignorant hours. They attempt to deceive and hope you don’t ask the right sort of questions to find out who they really are.

The contracts they offer are full of holes, and, had I had my head screwed on right, I would have seen this from the beginning.

The ‘contract’ I signed states that I can cease the relationship at any time, and will receive my money back minus services rendered to that point. Seeing as they’ve changed a grand total of four words in six months, missed scores of grammatical and formatting errrors, and put me in contact with their sham book distributor, I have asked for 4000 back of my 4650 I foolishly parted with back in mid 2025. Even losing $650 to these muppets sticks in my throat, but I guess that’s what I deserve for being so naive.

This is the second time this review has been posted. I initially got their attention when I put it up the first time, even though they assured me that wasn’t why they got back to me. They told me they wouldn’t process anything until I took it down. We reached an impasse and the more damning reviews were taken down. They thanked me and said they’d get me my money.

Another lie. Still no refund. Bank account issues and delays should have been sorted by now, so here we are again until I get what’s owed me.

They’ve ignored me for the past three or so weeks. I was a patsy for a while, but will not be any longer.

Stinkwaves Publishing cannot be trusted any more than they can publish a book. Do not fall for their flattery.

I am now editing this review with an update.

I was notified through TrustPilot that Inkwaves was trying to get my review removed, citing remarks that were defamatory in nature. I then received the notification that my review would stay up as the independent reviewers found nothing I had written as defamatory.

When that didn't work, Inkwaves came out swinging and wrote a response (which I can't see anymore, so perhaps it's been taken down.) claiming that my review was defamatory (which it was obviously proven not to be) and made a bunch of statements that were simply untrue. They expressed disappointment that I had chosen to write such things without resolving things with them personally. This is hilarious. I had been trying for MONTHS to get a straight answer from them, but, of course, they won't acknowledge that publicly.

I've received an email from them stating categorically that nothing will be done unless the reviews are taken down. I've begged them for SOME form of assurance that it won't be the same as last time, that they won't ghost me once I take them down. Nope. They give me nothing. So here we are. I will probably never see my money again, but I will continue to tell the world just how much of a scam these people are.

A Vanity Publisher that will take your money

Unfortunately the experience is extremely disappointing having dealt with Inkwaves for almost 8 months and spent in excess of 12,000 USD with a promise of printing books for publication on Barnes and Noble. They promised a google ads campaign and author copies for local promotion.
The organisation is expensive for what they do, promise many things that are inflated in price and with little visibility. Editing is nothing more than something done in word. Which you can do yourself, publishing on amazon kdp you can do yourself, they promise google ads campaigns but they don't supply any details on the marketing strategy or demographics. Threaten you with legal action or to stop work for causing concerns. They'll ask for money upfront no structured payment plan. Ive dealt with Brian and Travis, both of whom promised a lot of things but never delivered when I complained they ask me to submit paperwork again and again.
My hooks are online so not a scam however, as for supporting writers in reaching their dreams it's doubtful. I have had other author's reach out having paid upfront and suffered similar experiences.
I cant recommend this organisation and strongly recommended you avoid them at all cost unless you are well cashed up because they will certainly take your money.

We take all client feedback seriously, but this review contains several inaccuracies that we must address.

Our team has consistently delivered the services that were agreed upon and has gone above and beyond to accommodate this client’s ongoing requests. Despite completing the work outlined in the contract, including editing, formatting, publishing services, and multiple revisions, the client repeatedly demanded additional services that were outside the original scope and expected them to be provided at no extra cost.

We want to clarify that no publishing or marketing company can deliver unlimited services for free. Professional work requires time, resources, and structured processes. We followed those processes, provided regular updates, and requested necessary documentation when needed, not to stall the project, but to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

It is disappointing to see a misrepresentation of the situation after our team made every effort to support her project. We remain committed to transparency, professionalism, and delivering quality publishing services to all authors who work with us.

If any potential clients have questions or would like clarification about our services, we invite them to contact us directly. We are always happy to provide clear information and references.

My name is judie eggenweiler and I'd like to share my thoughts on inkwaves publishing. Im ecstatic that I chose them for my children's story book. They were so terrific in editing and not to mention the incredible illustrations for my book! I was more than pleased!! Their collective support throughout the process of publishing was great. I feel that they loved my work and took the timetable make the book professional without loosing the sentimental meaning of my story. Thank you Samuel Brooks and Brian smith for your devotion to my project!! It's incredible!!
I've sent other authors to inkwaves publishing because they are 5star quality!!! Im so proud of my accomplishment and of being a newly published author. Thank you and God bless!!!
