I joined one of Hyper Island's creative full-time programs in the autumn of 2023. It was one of those little decisions that would completely change my life.

As I was approaching 30, I had just been through a bit of an existential crisis, which led me to pursue a new career.

After feeling a bit stagnant in my current professional life, I was considering a fresh start. However, I did not want to spend 3 years on another bachelor's degree. I needed a fast track into a new career path.
One day, a friend recommended Hyper Island to me, and after browsing for a bit, I was instantly intrigued.

What stood out to me was the focus on hands-on learning and working with industry professionals to take on real-world challenges. Basically, companies came in with their problems, and we were given the opportunity to solve them.

This made the learning practical rather than theoretical, which is often the case in more traditional educational settings.

Another thing that really enhanced the experience was Hyper Island’s focus on reflection and feedback. It created a cycle of learning that allowed for continuous growth and development.

I’m happy to say that my near-30 career crisis led me to a point in life where I’ve found fulfilment and the excitement of a newly started career in the creative field.

And if I’m being honest, it all started at Hyper Island.

Just came across this and thought I’d share my experience as a Motion Creative graduate from 2021.
I’m from Hamburg and already had a bit of a background in 3D motion design before I joined Hyper Island in Stockholm in 2020. My goal was pretty simple: get better, specialize in 3D, and improve my English along the way.
Then COVID happened, and the whole experience kind of fell apart. I think I was on campus maybe 2–3 times in total. The rest of the year I was just in my room, even though I had moved to Stockholm for this. So yeah, not much real learning, and almost no chance to connect with people.
The program itself was mostly guest speakers from the industry and some small assignments here and there. But honestly, a lot of it felt pretty basic—stuff you could easily learn online for free.
My goal was to improve my English and actually get solid motion design skills. Neither really happened. If I’m being honest, it felt like 98% soft skill talk—group feelings, communication, all that—and maybe 2% actual motion design.
I did bring this up a few times and asked if there was any way to pause or maybe get some kind of refund, given the situation. But the answer was always the same: they’re sorry, but nothing they can do.
Considering how much money went into it (tuition + living costs), that was pretty frustrating.
And looking back now, a lot of people from my class didn’t even end up working in motion design. Which, to be honest, isn’t that surprising.
I think they don’t even offer that program anymore. If you’re thinking about it and have to pay for it yourself, I’d really think twice. For me, it just wasn’t worth the time or money.

Really helpful and fun course! Well structured and great teachers, fun classmates too. Very helpful too. It’s just to remember what you’ve learned when you do your work.

The methodology was very participative and the facilitators super knowledgeable. I enjoyed connecting with others, learning about their perspectives. The times worked amazingly for me.

I wish there was a second part for the same group to go deeper on what we've learned. Maybe having a small project to help us think how can we share all of the content back to our organisations would be great

I attended five intense, inspiring days with Hyper Island diving into AI and future skills — and wow. Stockholm + participants and trainers from Europe and the Americas = great energy and perspectives from day one.

Very hands-on and very real: learning by doing, working on our own examples, exchanging knowledge and sharing experiences. Smart, practical, and genuinely exciting. If this is the future of learning, I’m in!

I joined the Leading Teams course in November 2025, and overall it was a positive and meaningful experience, especially on a human level.

What I appreciated most was the mix of people in the group. Having participants with different roles, backgrounds, and perspectives made the conversations richer and more grounded in real-life situations. This diversity helped surface insights that I probably wouldn’t have reached on my own and really enriched the discussions and reflections.

A strong highlight of the course was the focus on group reflection. There was plenty of space to share experiences, listen to others, and learn from how different people approach leadership challenges. That openness and collaborative atmosphere felt very aligned with the way many of us try to work in our day-to-day environments.

The overall structure of the sessions worked well for me. The timing felt balanced—long enough to stay engaged without becoming overwhelming. I also valued that the course offered practical methods you can actually apply when leading a team, rather than staying purely theoretical.

I joined Leading Teams as a fairly new leader, feeling a bit unsure if I was “doing it right. This course helped me slow down, reflect, and actually understand what kind of leader I want to be – not just what I’m supposed to do.

It’s clearly designed with newer leaders in mind, with lots of practical tools and real conversations about things like team dynamics, conflict, and feedback. At the same time, I honestly think anyone would grow from it – there was always another layer if you wanted to go deeper personally.

One of the best parts was the international group. We had people from many different countries and backgrounds, which made every discussion richer. Hearing how leadership and teamwork play out in other cultures was super eye-opening.

The facilitators created a very safe, down-to-earth atmosphere. No ego, no jargon – just honest questions, good methods, and space to try things out. I left with more confidence, some very concrete tools, and a much better sense of how it actually feels to be led by me.

Would definitely recommend if you’re stepping into a leadership role and want to grow in a real, human way.

As a marketing strategist with several years of experience, I am always looking for programs that go beyond surface-level theory. I took the Strategize Like a Futurist Course with a fantastic cohort of people from across the globe. The learning journey was well planned and expertly facilitated by the Hyper Island/CIFS team. I particularly enjoyed working hands on with the tools that we learned, together with my learning pod. It was easy enough to make that collaboration work along side my day to day. I've taken so many of the tools practiced during the course with me into my strategic role.

I’ve taken three courses with Hyper Island, and each one has been truly transformative for my career.
