Poor Quality-Terrible App-Abysmal Customer Service
I purchased the Hunter Ceiling Fan 52833 Aerodyne in Matte Black, and it’s been an utterly disappointing experience from start to finish. The fan itself is subpar—loud, wobbly, and feels cheaply made despite its premium price tag. The airflow is weak, barely cooling a small room, and the matte black finish started chipping within days, making it look tacky and worn out.
The Wi-Fi functionality and app are an absolute joke. The app is glitchy, crashes constantly, and fails to connect to the fan 90% of the time. When it does connect, the controls are unresponsive, and the fan randomly disconnects from Wi-Fi, rendering the “smart” features useless. Setting it up was a nightmare, with vague instructions and no troubleshooting support in the manual.
As for Hunter’s customer service, it’s hands-down the worst I’ve ever encountered. I spent hours on hold, only to be met with rude, dismissive representatives who offered no solutions. They refused to acknowledge the fan’s defects or the app’s issues, blaming my home Wi-Fi instead. When I requested a replacement or refund, they stonewalled me with endless paperwork and unfulfilled promises. Emails went unanswered for weeks, and when they did respond, it was generic, scripted nonsense.
Save your money and avoid this fan at all costs. Hunter’s shoddy product and deplorable customer service make this a purchase I deeply regret.
