Great staff, friendly, trusted who look after your family’s jewellery to a high standard

I received excellent customer service when I recently brought in my engagement ring for a 'clean and polish'.
We originally bought the ring from the Hugh Rice shop in Hull on 1992. Since then, they have helped me several times when I've damaged it. They've even reset the stones into a more secure setting in the past.
I always go back to them - even though I live outside the area - because they care about what they make.

Super reliable trust worthy company who bring great customer service and leave your old sentimental jewellery like new again! 100% recommend coming here to either purchase something or bring your damaged precious jewellery in for repair.

I visited the Harrogate store today to collect a Breitling watch that I had placed a deposit on.

The store has some customers in when I got there which is fine and a sign on the electric doors which were closed and locked stating that the store was at capacity.

I waited for a reasonable amount of time as I didn’t want to go for a coffee and find myself in the same position on my return.

Now this rating isn’t about the need to close the store to incoming customers or the amount of time I had to wait, it’s about the attitude of 2 of the staff when the doors opened for customers to leave and I walked forward to enter.

The first staff member saw me walk forward and let the doors close, looked at me and walked off. When I gestured to him to understand why I couldn’t enter I was met with a moody and quite rude response.

Not what I would expect at all for any customer but especially not for someone who was booked in for a midday appointment.

This happened again when the doors opened again and customers left the store and this time the attitude was mildly better but still poor by a different staff member.

On the final occasion the doors opened and I wasn’t allowed in still the explanation from the female member of staff was of a far more polite and courteous nature.

Eventually when I am able to enter the store I wasn’t in the best of moods and just wanted to collect the watch and leave which I did.

All of this said, Kaif was fantastic in terms of service and courtesy and very helpful regarding the purchase and set up of the watch. He is a credit to you and for the record it wasn’t him at the front door I was referring to earlier.

If I was to return again to the store as I am a frequent luxury watch buyer it would only be because of the service that Kaif provided.

Kaif is the reason this review is a 3 star and not a 1 star review.

Staff represent the company and give an indication of culture and how the company view customers and I think a couple of the staff could do with remembering this and have some training on how to greet clients when they are stressed and possible understaffed or very busy as you need to maintain the same high level even under pressure.

Anyway thanks Kaif you were amazing and I love the watch too.
