As I said in my first review of this Company, I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from this firm during the probate process for our bereaved eldest son.

Not only were there significant issues with how our case was managed, but the firm has also failed to respond to my formal complaint regarding their handling of the matter, no surprise there then!

Good communication is essential when dealing with something as important and sensitive as probate, yet I experienced long periods with no updates, unclear explanations, and avoidable delays.

Despite raising my concerns directly with the senior partners of the firm, I have had no acknowledgement or meaningful response, which is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm for probate services. I only hope that they take steps to improve their communication and complaint handling in the future. Best of luck if you choose to use this firm, I will never use them again.

Completely unprofessional service. The owners have allowed the company to drop off the HSBC panel so they can no longer deal with clients with a HSBC mortgages. Being on the panel of major banks is essential for their clients and conveyors and they have rather let it overlap or they have been refused by HSBC. Either way, a let down to their clients.

Ann Hines was recommended to us by our estate agent and she and her team provided an excellent service from start to finish. Phone calls were either taken immediately or we had a call back within minutes, emails were responded to quickly and clearly. There were some bumps along the way which were nothing to do with Ann, which she sorted out for us. We felt confident throughout the service provided by HLF. Five starts isn't enough!

Ann Hines was my conveyancer for a recent sale. There were many bumps on the way from the other side, a change of solicitors part way through being one!

We have recently instructed Ann Hines on several property transactions and she has been the consummate professional. It is rare these days to find someone who communicates regularly, explains in plain English and inspires the client with such confidence. I would recommend her without hesitation.

We pulled out of a house purchase partly because of these solicitors

We didn't instruct Huggins, Lewis and Foskett but we pulled out of a house in part due to them. We were buying a probate property, and were told by the vendors that probate had been applied for prior to them accepting our offer.

However, after a while, when we were beginning to think something wasn't right, their conveyancing solicitor, Carly Goldsmith, repeatedly refused to answer our solicitor when asked for the date of probate application. Probate was being dealt with by the same firm.

The vendors and estate agent told us it was applied for in July 2022 and we progressed with our sale accordingly. In January 2023, when we were six days from homelessness, the vendors came clean and admitted they had applied just before Christmas. Even then, Carly claimed she 'still didn't know' the exact date.

We didn't want to do business with these people any more so we pulled out. The vendors and estate agent misleading us is one thing but to never get a clear answer out of a solicitor is unforgiveable.

I have just completed and moved into my new home, we used Carly from Huggins.
Moving home is one of the most stressful things and Carly held my hand the whole way through.
On my request she spoke to me like another human and didn’t baffle me with a legal jargon.
I am not planning on moving again for awhile, but if and when I do, I would not think twice about using Carly again.
