Fraudulent Charges
I rented a car from Avis in CT to be dropped off in NYC. Drivers in CT know you do not have to cross a toll bridge to get into NYC. But Avis allowed htallc to charge me for a toll crossing and a daily service charge even though the transponder was not opened for use. htallc is a scam and makes fraudulent charges to renters' credit cards. I called htallc to informed them of their error, the customer service rep did not find that the transponder was malfunctioning. I asked her how could the transponder could be crossing a toll bridge to Manhattan at 9:50:32 AM which was closed when I was already in Manhattan exiting the 53rd street exit on the FDR Drive which is on the east side of Manhattan? The rep had sent my complaint to their review department to investigate further.
