TOTAL RIP OFF
I am currently on Holiday to London Manchester.
I have booked an accommodation through House Trip (TripAdvisor) with PandO Apartments in April this year.
At the time of booking I was searching for an apartment or guest house that will be near to MMU Birley campus as my daughter was accepted to study at the campus. During my research I have found that House Trip was the only agency with the nearest apartment for 3 guest for 20 nights at £3004.74, I had no knowledge about the area or city as I am from South Africa. The apartment viewed on net was a lovely yet cosy home for autistic son and my daughter who is going to study, as she would feel comfortable and safe.
I have paid a deposit of £600.75 on 22 April 2016 to secure Booking and then I had to pay the balance before 28 August 2016, which I then paid balance by the 14 July 2016.
I then received emails from P & O apartments, also from Just the place who sent welcome emails.
My check in was on 10 September 2016 as an early check in as our flights were early.
Upon arrival at the home, there was no one to do inventry, as we check in our self with email stating where the key will be located. When I walked into the apartment I could not believe my eyes as I was shock at what I was seeing in reality.
Previous to this day I received email on 08 September 2016 from Nick and Andrea and I quoted “WE ARE BUSY PREPARING FOR YOUR STAY IN BLANCHARD HOUSE”. These words Preparing for your stay, I’m not sure what preparing was actually done, because this apartment was not at all clean or prepared for my stay, as I walked into a very filthy, disgusting and very unhygienic apartment, I have pictures attached of the apartment.
I had no words to describe the apartment, we were so exhausted due to 20-hour flight, I had no idea what to do, so I went out to get my kiddies something to eat. When I had return I experience problems with Yale lock and contacted Andrea to assist. Andrea came to assist with opening of the door and connecting to Wi-Fi and she was very much in a hurry as she needed to attend to other check ins, she was literally with me for less than 5 mins and I could not complain to her at the time. If I had not called her for lock on door, I’m sure I would have not seen her. She then advised that she will return on Monday for damage deposit.
At this time, I was not sure what to do, whether I was going to find a place to stay, has other accommodations I call was fully booked and no one could help, I had to stay in Unhygienic and very unhealthy apartment until I got confirmation to move into another accommodation.
As a guest I had to clean the filthy bathroom and kitchen so that we could bath and try to eat as for central heating system it did not work. The heated towel railing was just there as a show piece in the bathroom, dining table chairs, Stove, microwave, toaster, kitchen utensils and bin was in a very bad and dirty condition. Even Andrea had a problem with connecting to Wi-Fi. Not forgetting panty liner protective gusset piece in bedroom, opened bubble gum, broken toilet seat, grim on bathroom tap and tiles. Also the opened grocery items that looked like they were lying there for a long time. Yale lock on door was also broken therefore door had to be kept unlocked and maggot was everywhere and house flies flying around. The apartment was so dirty that I had to purchase paper cups, plates and plastic forks, spoons and knife to eat.
As a person traveling from another country after a 20-hour flight I am most disgusted with this accommodation and the price I paid for it. I have certainly booked 4 - 7 star accommodation before and this was certainly not a 4.1 out of 5 stars as they advertised it to be. Pictures viewed on website is not what you see in reality has this was advertised under false pretence and misleading home they make it to be.
I then waited for Andrea to return on Monday so I could complain and show her the filth but unfortunately she did not return, I could not wait any long as my daughter became ill, I had to incur other expenses to book an accommodation on Monday 12 September 2016 as I was not willing to live in such filth and risk my Autistic son getting sick. At the time I was so stressed I had no time to contact anyone else except getting myself and kiddies out of this unhealthy place.
On Tuesday I had made contact with House Trip and spoke toHouse Trip Agent who advised that within 24 hours I was supposed to advise them about the apartment and that they would have helded back payment from the Host Paulina and Olaf. He then advised that I should send him pictures of apartment and he will try to contact the host to do a refund.
I then received an email on Wednesday stating that I will not be refunded as I didn’t not let them know within the 24 hour time frame and that I didn’t tell the host about my check out and that I was checked in by the owner which I was not.
As a mother being that stress with my kiddies and nowhere to go, I also knew no one in Manchester. I just wanted to get out and then sort out problem with apartment.
On Wednesday 14/09/2016 I have sent an email with pictures to P&O Apartment, Just the Place, Considering the problems I have experienced and the bad services I expect a refund even if they refund me less 2 nights I had to put up with Unhygienic apartment.
I still awaiting a response from them.
