Incompetência e falta de respeito

Chamaram-me para uma entrevista de emprego, seria online, e cancelaram 5 minutos antes porque tiveram um imprevisto, remarcaram para alguns dias depois e eu aceitei. No dia remarcado, ninguém do RH apareceu e dessa vez não me falaram nada e ficou por isso. Agradeci ao universo pelo livramento, pois a incompetência e a falta de profissionalismo dessa empresa ficaram evidentes.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever experienced with a rental company. They are communicative and fast until you complete your booking. Once it’s paid;
They answer your emails witch chatgpt without reading your question. Have asked at least 7 times for a proper invoice, still not received after weeks passed.
Arrived in the rental property with no baby crib and chair as I have paid for and asked to confirm several times. Feeding my child on the ground and still no answer on why its not here and when we will receive one.

No customer service

We booked months in advance. The day of the Check-in, we Receiver a message with the "details". In fact it was an empty message. We tried to contact Hostwise by text and phone, but without success. Airbnb finally reached them after hours and they sent us the details and the Code for the key-box. The key didn't fit. The games started again: their we're not available on the phone or by messenger. Airbnb cancelled the stay and organized another apartment.

Host Wise Fraud and Abuse

I request an immediate **full refund** for my reservation at Rua Guedes de Azevedo 203, apt H8, Oporto, Porto 4000-111, Portugal, due to multiple severe violations of Airbnb’s Guest Refund Policy, quality standards, and contractual obligations. If Airbnb does not provide a full refund, this will be treated as a breach of both your legal and contractual duties.

## Key Violations and Damages

- **Misrepresentation:** The apartment was windowless except for two small ceiling windows, and the actual condition, furniture, and decor did not match the listing. This directly violates Airbnb’s requirement for accurate listings and constitutes a Reservation Issue under the Guest Refund Policy.
- **Missing/Defective Amenities:**
- No iron provided until after three days and a complaint.
- Only one pillow and towel, with a hidden $30 charge for more.
- No garbage bags, soap, or toilet paper.
- TV was broken and unusable.
- Internet was either non-existent or so slow it was unusable.
- Dangerous bedside lamp and loud air conditioner.
- Unclean bathroom: foul odor, black stains, loose handles.
- Power breaker failed repeatedly, leaving devices uncharged.
- **Safety and Security Hazards:**
- Building entrance left open and unsupervised.
- Apartment door handle detached, compromising safety.
- **Host Misconduct:**
- Disorganized check-in with incorrect instructions.
- Host requested access to the apartment during my stay, breaching privacy and security.

All these issues are documented with photos and videos.

We stayed with 3 people in an apartment…

We stayed with 3 people in an apartment in Guimaraes for 13 nights in July 2025 and had a leakage from the bathroom ceiling for almost the entire stay. The mechanics were very friendly and tried fixing the issue, however the response of the quality team/management team of customer contact service center was very dissappointing. They are not pro active in communication and did not provide another accomodation or provide any cleaning or clean towels for the mess from the leaking or attempted repairs during our stay. We had to clean up the mess, overflow water and whatever fell down fron the ceiling ourselves everyday. After many requests hostwise granted a 10% refund, which after 1 month has not been paid yet. Our stay was overshadowed by this discomfort and frustration of the endless digital communication without results.

A experiência começou mal (voos atrasados) mas acabou da melhor forma!

Correu tudo muito bem, felizmente. O voo chegou atrasado, o que não permitiu um check-in presencial mas, ainda assim, só tenho a agradecer pela hospitalidade e um welcome kit extra!

O único ponto menos "positivo" foi o facto do AC não estar a funcionar muito bem, no entanto, também tenho a perfeita noção que o mesmo aconteceu devido ao calor excessivo durante a nossa estadia.

Great overall experience. Thank you!

Last week, I went to Porto with my family for a week and it was incredible! The host paid attention and answered fast, although they left little to no toilet paper, everything else was just fine.

The apartment was very well located and, above all, it matches the Airbnb photos.

Thank you for the stay, I'll definitely be back soon!

No mês de junho de 2024 efectuei uma…

No mês de junho de 2024 efectuei uma reserva de alojamento através da plataforma Booking.com à empresa HostWise, referente ao número de reserva 6171.828.862. Após a estadia, solicitei por várias vezes a emissão de fatura com o meu número de contribuinte, conforme a legislação portuguesa obriga, mas não obtive qualquer resposta, nem me foi enviada a respetiva fatura.

De acordo com o artigo 29.º e o artigo 36.º do Código do IVA, qualquer prestador de serviços em Portugal é obrigado a emitir fatura com NIF a pedido do cliente. O não cumprimento desta obrigação prejudica os direitos do consumidor e constitui uma infração fiscal.

Caso a empresa continue a recusar ou a não responder, irei apresentar reclamação junto da Autoridade Tributária (AT) e da ASAE, entidades fiscalizadoras competentes nesta matéria.

Caso necessário, disponibilizo em mensagem privada o comprovativo da reserva, do pagamento e dos pedidos de emissão de fatura.

Aguardo uma resolução célere deste assunto.

Agradecemos pelo seu comentário e lamentamos qualquer incómodo causado.

Gostaríamos de esclarecer que a sua estadia decorreu entre os dias 28 de junho e 1 de julho de 2025, e que a fatura foi automaticamente emitida no momento do check-out, com os dados disponíveis no sistema da Booking, conforme é prática habitual — neste caso, como consumidor final, uma vez que não foi feito qualquer pedido prévio de NIF.

O seu primeiro contacto connosco ocorreu apenas no dia 17 de julho, ou seja, mais de 15 dias após o término da estadia, e sem qualquer comunicação anterior via e-mail, telefone ou pela própria plataforma de reserva. Infelizmente, após esse período, a plataforma já não nos permite substituir diretamente a fatura emitida.

No entanto, conforme explicado telefonicamente esta semana, reemitimos a fatura com o NIF solicitado, para que pudesse ter a documentação fiscal conforme desejado.

Reforçamos que estamos sempre disponíveis para resolver qualquer situação da forma mais célere possível, dentro dos limites legais e operacionais, e lamentamos que esta situação tenha causado insatisfação.

Disappointed by Lack of Flexibility and Customer Care

I wish I could leave a positive review, but unfortunately my experience was overshadowed by the host’s refusal to accommodate a simple date change request. I reached out well in advance hoping to adjust my reservation, but was met with a flat “no”—no explanation, no willingness to help. It became clear that keeping the full payment was the priority, not providing a fair or flexible guest experience.

Plans can change, and good hosts understand that. I wasn’t asking for a refund—just to shift the dates. But instead of working with me, the host chose to stick rigidly to the cancellation policy, even though they easily could have rebooked the dates. Disappointing and short-sighted.

I’ve had many great stays on Airbnb with hosts who genuinely care about their guests. Sadly, this wasn’t one of them.

We will not be using Host Wise again…

We will not be using Host Wise again and would caution others to carefully consider their options before booking with them.

We originally reserved a one-bedroom apartment in Porto, close to the Outsite where the rest of our group was staying. Just as we were about to board our train from Lisbon, we received a message from Host Wise informing us that the apartment had been flooded due to an issue in the unit above and was now uninhabitable. They offered to relocate us.

The first alternative provided was a studio in a different city, nearly 30 minutes from our intended location. Given the size and distance, we declined. The only other option offered was a split stay, and while not ideal, we agreed out of necessity.

The first unit we were placed in was significantly smaller than our original booking. While technically a one-bedroom, it felt more like a converted studio. It lacked a washing machine, a feature we specifically needed and that had been listed in the original property. We requested a partial refund due to the downgrade and were told we would receive one after checkout. I also submitted a refund request through Airbnb for $300, which Host Wise declined, again stating the refund would be processed post-stay.

During the final week of the first accommodation, we were notified that the second property in the split stay was also now unavailable. Host Wise offered a new unit in Matosinhos, a town 45 minutes from our group. We were told it was a new property they had just started managing and would receive photos once available. While more spacious, the unit required air conditioning installation the day after our arrival. With no other viable options, we accepted the move.

Upon arrival, we noticed a persistent musty smell. The closet, refrigerator, and washing machine all had unpleasant odors. Tired of the constant issues, we chose to address these ourselves—cleaning and ventilating the space as best we could.

While we were away for a weekend trip, the A/C was installed. Upon our return, we experienced a complete power outage while trying to cook and do laundry. Although Host Wise provided assistance, we ended up resetting the circuit multiple times throughout our stay. It became clear the new A/C units were overloading the system, making it impossible to use basic appliances without tripping the power.

We inquired multiple times about reimbursement, especially given the added commute and inconvenience. Host Wise had initially indicated they would cover some of the additional transportation and food costs—up to €40 was eventually reimbursed, though our total out-of-pocket expenses exceeded €200. Despite repeated requests, we have yet to receive any compensation for the initial downgrade or disruption caused by the second relocation.

By the end of our stay, Host Wise had stopped responding to our messages entirely.

Given the multiple last-minute relocations, unlivable conditions, and lack of transparency around reimbursement, we cannot recommend this company. We hope others take these issues into consideration when choosing accommodations for their travels.
