Really Helpful
The gentleman we dealt with when buying our vehicle was extremely helpful,ours was a unique case with my partner being the other end of the country at the time we bought the car, they were very accomodating. When I picked the car up, being a newer driver I was a little nervous and unsure on the process, they explained everything and even helped me get the tax and insurance set up so I could get going. Great service, they really care about and look after their customers.

Update....
This is following my last review, I felt it was very important to do this for the sake of other people buying a car from these crooks. And the response or rather lack of response was completely unacceptable.
And just to be clear the issues I have had with the vehicle are down to human error directly from the poor work done on the vehicle at horsepower, the car although old would of been amazing had these guys done there job correctly. I have no option but to sell the car (which I haven't paid for yet, I had to get a loan to get it.)
So after taking the car to the garage on Wednesday night the diagnostic was this.....
Where the gearbox bellhousing bolts were left loose (by horsepower), the starter motor hadn't meshed with the flywheel properly it had rounded the teeth of the starter and began burr the edges of the flywheel teeth, that's why the starting was so intermittent, had this completely gone the car would have had to be scraped. This cost a further £300 to repair.
I sent this all over to horsepower and received no response because they already know iv lost my consumer rights.
I have complex PTSD, Autism and ADHD, which made it harder to accept this injustice, and I told horsepower I was currently in a mentally health crisis and not to respond to my review with the nonsense iv read from their other negative reviews (they didn't even respect this and left a patronising response, with a smiley face which infuriated me if I'm honest), it's absolutely exasperated my current mental health issues and completely triggered me. And worse for me they couldn't even pick up the phone and just talk to me. Heartbroken, exhausted and lost all faith in the human race. Be very careful with these guys.

As outlined in our previous response, the Berlingo was an older (17yrs+), high mileage (140k) part-exchange clearance vehicle, sold without a warranty but with the option to purchase one, which was declined. We're sorry to hear you are experiencing further issues.
We do take all concerns about our workmanship seriously. However, as the vehicle had already been repaired by a third party before we were able to inspect it, we were unfortunately unable to independently verify the cause of the faults or accept liability for repairs carried out elsewhere. When the vehicle was returned to us for inspection, we provided a clear and thorough video with our technician's comments addressing each of the items raised, in the interest of full transparency. We have documented this throughout.
We remain happy to inspect the vehicle and provide a fair, competitive quotation for any outstanding work. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly so we can review everything properly.

Very good dealership

Stop: Do not use this dealer
They sold me a broken car. When it first broke down, within weeks of purchase, we sent it back to the garage. They pretended to fix it but there was no full check of the car. It broke down again within days with the same problem. We asked to return it and receive a refund. At this point they lied and attempted to bully us into believing that we were not due a refund. If you are going to use this company know your consumer rights, you may well need them. You are due a refund if the car is faulty. Go elsewhere for your second hand car

After 6 weeks the car developed a serious fault. Petrol fumes leaking into the car making it dangerous to drive. The AA- fantastic by the way- took it back to Horsepower. The salesman, who was all friendly, chatty etc whilst selling it, was rude, patronising and totally belligerent. Told me I couldn't get a courtesy car for nearly a week, so I had to hire a rental. I had to repeatedly call, text, email often having to wait over 2 hours for any response. When I eventually got the car back, no one bothered to explain anything, no paperwork detailing the fault, the interior was dirty, a child's car seat had been pulled apart and nearly half a tank of petrol used. They just gave me the keys and didn't even show me to the car, had to search for it in the forecourt. Absolutely disgusting treatment. Hope I never have to go back there again !!

For clarity, the car was recovered to us by the AA due to a fuel smell and noise. Our technicians diagnosed a faulty injector, which was replaced. The vehicle was then road tested multiple times, including extended test drives, with videos and updates sent to you throughout the process. The issue was resolved and the car was returned to you in full working order, at no cost.
Courtesy cars are limited and allocated based on availability. At the time, we were unable to provide one immediately. We appreciate that this was inconvenient, but it was not a refusal to help.
When you collected the car, the work had been completed and explained via the video updates already sent. Child seats are removed during inspection and testing for safety reasons and cannot be refitted by us. Extensive road testing does use fuel, but we are always happy to top this up if requested.
For balance, as of November 2025, 87% of our Trustpilot reviews are rated Great or Excellent. We have been trading since 2002 and look after thousands of customers each year.
