Prompt, courteous and expert!

Ming was very courteous and super helpful when we had a boiler issue.
He arranged to come round the next day to examine and advise.
His years of experience are very obvious when you observe him working so efficiently.
The best part is his willingness to find the most cost effective solution to your problem (I.e. safely repairing) rather than trying to hard-sell you a new boiler which so many others would do.

Fantastic

First class and excellent value boiler repair

We had our 7-year-old BAXI boiler serviced by an engineer we have used before, but immediately after he left, it was not working. He came back but could not fix it and said the gas valve needed replacing, which is a bit of a coincidence given he had just serviced it that morning and it was working fine before. I called Baxi, but it was one day out of warranty and their only repair options were over £400.

The next day I called Herts Boilers and the owner, Ming, arranged for his colleague Di Su of WelHat Boilers to attend in the afternoon. He was very knowledgeable and extremely thorough and he diagnosed that the gas valve was out of adjustment.

He reconfigured it and tested it and even though he was here for nearly two hours, he only charged me his fixed fee of £70 + VAT. I highly recommend both WelHat Boiler and Herts Boilers and we will be using one or both them going forward.

Ming went above and beyond to fix my boiler.

Ming went above and beyond to fix my boiler. No payment required until properly running. He saved me a fortune by diagnosing a circuit board fault. The part was upgraded. He could easily have recommended a new boiler costing thousands, but he didn't.
A man of integrity with pride in his job. Not many like this around today. I won't go anywhere else for future servicing. Lucky to have found him. Thanks again Ming.

Excellent… wouldn’t go anywhere else… highly recommended

I cannot recommend Herts Boilers highly enough; Mr Ming, who is a skilled Engineer with many years of experience and who is extremely professional, got to work straight away… within no more than 20 minutes my old school floor standing boiler had been repaired and was up and running for the first time since the beginning of the year - I had been let down by two accredited gas engineers, both of whom said they needed to source some parts but never returned, I can readily see why the reviews for Herts Boilers are all excellent (I was sceptical at first but now know that they’re justified). Contact and communication was great, customer service too, and the comprehensive website is really helpful, particularly as there’s a list of frequently asked questions with really helpful answers and a clear explanation of the fees. I wouldn’t go anywhere else again and I’m so glad we found this reputable local company from a simple Google search.

No fix no fee not true

Not sure I got the same experience as all these positive reviews. No fix no fee was not true at all. Called out to broken down boiler, Ming diagnosed as blocked condensate pipe via WhatsApp before he arrived.
On the day Ming arrived one hour late, understandable in the industry I'm sure, but no updated time given until I chased.
Arrived and confirmed issue, however claimed that fault could not be fixed as appliances were in the way. If Ming had arrived on time I would have been available and between myself and my partner would have happily moved the appliances out of the way. However as it was I ended up stuck in a call so could not assist.
Ming charged £70 for call out and diagnosis despite no fix, according to his FAQ he reserves the right to charge diagnosis fee if three conditions are met, 1. Significant work involved (he had diagnosed before he arrived so don't believe this was met), 2. Diagnosis is correct (unknown at this stage), 3. Customer decides not to go further with Ming (we didn't really have a choice).
Ultimately I would have expected an experienced boiler specialist to have asked where the pipe went before he arrived so he could advise us to move the appliances before he arrived but nevermind.
£70 paid, but will not be using Ming again as nothing is fixed. 2 stars on the basis I assume the diagnosis is correct.

100% recommended

100% recommended. Mr Ming arrived exactly on time, got straight on with the boiler service, advised about next service in 20 months time, checked all was working correctly. Brilliant service, don’t bother getting quotes from the rest, just go with Herts Boilers!

Our hero!

Ming from Herts Boilers was the fourth plumber we consulted over malfunctioning of our newly installed boiler. He was able to diagnose a relatively unusual effect that was caused by a fitting error. He made several visits and provided multiple technical drawings to explain the problem and the solution. He came when he said he would and was faultless in his attention to detail. We recommend this company without reservation.

Very happy with the service from Ming, he fixed 2 problems with our boiler very efficiently and at very short notice! He was very friendly and up front about all costs which were very reasonable! Couldn’t recommend him highly enough!

Great, Fast, Effective Service!

Contacted Herts Boilers on Sunday, phone call from Ming on Monday morning saying he's had a late cancellation and could come round later that morning.

He promptly did and identified and fixed the issue that had been causing a banging noise whenever the heating went off, even taking the time to explain to me the cause. As requested did a boiler service at the same time, with no issues :)

I'm a very happy customer!

So pleased I found Herts Boilers (through local internet search/reading 5*reviews). Would definitely recommend Ming and Herts Boilers. Here’s why: Boiler broke down Friday night, no heating. Called Saturday and Ming said he could come Sunday morning. Arrived on time, very polite & professional and went straight to diagnosing and fixing the problem. Also sorted a pressure problem at no additional cost. Ming was very knowledgeable and very reasonable price. An honest and trustworthy guy - hard to find these days in this business. Thank you Ming - another extremely satisfied customer!

Fantastic service

No hot water 4pm Tuesday. Called providers, they said they could not send someone for three weeks... I searched for a local company, I called and Mr Ming said he would be with us on Thursday as he was extremely busy. However, he called at 6.30pm on that Tuesday evening and said he was passing on his way home and would take a look. He couldn’t do anything there and then, he texted later the same evening and said he had figured out the problem. Was back at 2pm the next day with the part, fitted in 10 minutes, and hot water up and running again at a very reasonable price. His service, knowledge and determination to fix the problem is fantastic and so rare to see nowadays. Can’t thank you enough for such a great service and would highly recommend.
