Under no circumstances would I recommend Hedgehog. Having had an insurance policy with them for almost a year they suddenly requested more documents from me which I duly sent to them. The next thing I know they have cancelled my policy with little notice and no notice that the documents I had sent were incorrect in any way. Even if it means I have to spend a bit extra I will happily do this rather than use Hedgehog again

Most of my query was dealt with by the chatrobot but it needed to transfer me to an agent who was not available. however I managed to renew my insurance policy so all good.

Tried to charge extra money. I had to speak to the insurer direct and the agent said they were shady!
Got a refund on the overcharge after the insurer intervened

Following the initial quotation, Hedgehog Insurance attempted to collect an additional premium that exceeded the total cost of the original policy.

Resolving the issue was particularly difficult because the company operates entirely online and does not provide a telephone contact service. This experience left me concerned about its business model and customer support arrangements, and I ultimately decided to cancel the policy.

It is nightmare. I am still in the process of complaints. After quote I paid 625 premium. They asked NCB proof, driving licence share code. Then I gave them my driving licence share code to check. Because I had SP30 in 2023, they add extra £152. Then I would like to cancel my policy within first 14 days cooling period, they charge me total £115.93 for cancellations!!!!
And said I agreed when I had the quotation.
It is absolutely concocting various items.

£60 cancellation fee
£30 new business arrangement fee
£25.93 premium and insurer fee
One of their terms stated that Optional extras outside of the 14 days cooling-off period are non-refundable.
It is totally unacceptable.

They are looking for any mistakes to add extra premium and then you cancel then they charge you a lot of money even in cooling period.

I asked a simple question - where was the email confirming my policy renewed today. It could not answer the question!! Useless!

I was going to "Add another driver", but it wasz too complicated.

We are elderly and am trying to speak to somebody about renewing last time we spoke to somebody. It was zOk We are not very ofe with computers

It was easy to enter details which were saved while I considered my options

I had to try three times to get the payment screen to activate.When I clicked on 'Pay' it scrolled up to the green box about having to verify with my bank. The chatbot was of no use at all and it was annoying not to be able to speak to someone. Eventually I had to go back to the beginning of the quote - which I did twice - and it did accept my payment, but this is unnecessarily stressful especially as there are so many warnings about the price going up.

Awful bot service and the agents aren't much better. Plus their emails are threatening.

DO NOT USE. A VOLD THIS COMPANY.

Emailed me after my car insurance started saying I need to pay more money, as I had an accident back in 2023 when I had not had one canceled my car insurance, and they have not paid my money back.

Cannot phone the office, can only talk to them by live chat ( can not talk to anyone in person )

Good value good online application.

Awful company… make you completely fool. Lots of hidden charge and they are not insurance company they are broker so you will end up paying double fees.
