They have stolen £1000s from me
They have stolen £1000s of money from me. Eon heat are a very bad company. I have had no heating or hot water for almost 1 year and I still paid them.
They have no knowledge or experience as to how to deal with customer issues. Customer service staff , engineers, have been very rude to me. I was racially discriminated by the team leader . They have put my life in danger by not installing the meter correctly in my flat. I do not recommend this company please avoid if possible. Every day there’s something wrong with the food hot water and heating.
Convinced they are scamming me.
Convinced they are scamming me.
I am locked in with eon heat as one of their District Heating Systems.
My first year in my property my bills were reasonable, particularly during the winter when I had the heating on twice a day.
For the last year I have been afraid to have my heating on and instead have to wrap myself up in blankets as my bills, and supposedly my usage, are now more than my previous bills were when I was having the heating on.
I have raised this issue and had multiple emails back and forth with them telling me my bills aren’t that much more than the previous year, not acknowledging that they shouldn’t be any more at all now that I don’t put the heating on.
Finally someone suggested an engineer come out who stated that the hot water temperature was too high and that must be the issue.
My bills, and supposedly usage, are still just as high as it they were prior to the visit by the engineer.
I have been made to feel like there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about my usage, despite being one person, who is at work for the majority of the day, doesn’t have the heating on at all, and rarely takes baths in order to limit usage.
I’m convinced they are trying to scam me but there’s not more I can do since they said my HIU was fine and I cannot leave eon.
On top of that, whilst we are being told that energy bills will be reducing, eon are increasing their price per kWh and standing charge. Absolute joke.
Disaster what ended up with ambulance
I lived in a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and repeatedly explained this to E.ON Heat, providing legal clarification of the property structure.
Despite this, I was invoiced on the basis of an unsigned agreement and pursued for full liability for a property occupied by multiple unrelated individuals. I had no legal authority over other occupants, and no ability to control or recover their usage.
I actively tried to prevent excessive heating use. Other occupants regularly set the heating to 35°C, effectively turning the property into a sauna. I contacted the landlord, the council, the police (reference numbers provided), and E.ON Heat to report the issue and explain that I could not control the communal heating. No effective action was taken, yet I am now being pursued for the resulting charges.
At one stage, E.ON confirmed I was not liable. Later, without clear reasoning, they reversed their position and issued further demands. I was even invoiced twice for the same period.
I provided evidence of my eviction and the date I vacated the property. Instead of correcting their records, my new landlord was contacted regarding a historic account. My personal data was disclosed in the process. Even the tariff plan documentation reportedly contains the old landlord’s name, yet I am being treated as solely responsible.
Despite multiple calls where I explained the errors in detail, shared documentation, police references, and medical evidence showing the severe distress caused by this situation, the matter continued to escalate rather than be resolved. Basic account details such as my email address were not updated for months.
The handling of this case has been inconsistent, confusing, and deeply distressing. From my perspective, the decision-making appears irrational and disproportionate to the facts presented.
At this stage, I am seeking only one thing: that this matter is resolved fairly and that I am left alone rather than being pursued for charges I cannot reasonably be responsible
I rather freeze than be their customer and ended up in ambulance
Absolutely incompetent
Absolutely incompetent. We're locked into E.ON because they supply communal heating to our development. Constant service interruptions throughout winter. They're unable to fix the issue. Appalling service - if you have the choice, avoid like the plague.
I cannot recommend Dan from EON HEAT’s…
I cannot recommend Dan from EON HEAT’s credit team highly enough! From the very first call, he has looked after my account with exceptional care and professionalism. He made one of the most stressful situations completely manageable and went above and beyond at every step. Dan is an absolute gem, and EON HEAT should be incredibly proud to have him on their team. His customer service is truly outstanding, and I am so grateful for all his help. Thank you, Dan! zebra
Transparency and Great CS experience
I had an issue with my final bill, and after my previous experiences with other companies thought I'd be in for a battle...
However! E.ON were super understanding and listened carefully. It was resolved by the end of the day! Although the issue was my fault, we got to a good place for both of us! Thank you specifically to Josh
Poor Service E.on
We were mithered by E.On to put in a smart meter. The engineer turned up,fitted the meter and then asked to check our gas cooker. He decided that the pressure was too high and that he had to turn our gas off.He promptly did this, asked if we knew a Gas Engineer and left.No help,no advice and has left us with no gas on a Friday before the weekend.Thank you E.On
Thanks for Charles, the staff of e.on heat
I have an excellent experience and I want to share with you. Two week ago, my home was no hot water supply and the boiler was not work. I call the e.on heat hot-line and booked an appointment to check it. They help me to arranged to come my place on the next day.
Charles, the engineer of e.on heat, came to check the boiler. He was very fast and profession, without a second. He found the problem and helped to fix it. During the process, Charles used some tool and towel to protect area, made everything tide and cleaned up the area after completed. I am very happy for Charle's service, because he was care about us( after work cleaning).
Thanks for Charles and now I have hot water to shower.🥰
I had an excellent experience with Dan…
I had an excellent experience with Dan from Eon Heat and I want to share my appreciation through this 5-star review. I contacted them to amend my bill, which had been sent as an estimated usage bill. I had actually used less energy than what was reflected, so I asked Dan to update my meter reading and send a corrected bill. While he was assisting me, I also inquired about better tariff options. Dan responded with enthusiasm, saying it was an excellent question. He informed me about a tariff that offers lower service charges and slightly higher unit usage rates. This option is especially advantageous when you’re away on holiday or a business trip and not using your heating unit at all. Dan took the time to explain the two different packages in detail. After changing my tariff, he even secured me a month's worth of credit on my account. I was truly impressed! We need more people like him on the customer service team, as he helps customers understand how to save money on their bills. Thank you, Dan, for your fantastic support!
Absolutely Appalling Service – No Hot Water for Months
Should be ZERO stars, maybe even -100. We have not had reliable hot water since last Christmas, and the situation has become unbearable. Despite calling the E.ON Heat emergency line multiple times, we have received little to no genuine support. Promises are made but nothing is ever resolved.
We have now gone an entire month without hot water, which is completely unacceptable for any household. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic customer care is shocking. Every interaction has left us more frustrated, as no one seems able or willing to provide a proper solution.
This has been one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had. E.ON Heat has proven itself unreliable, unhelpful, and indifferent to its customers’ wellbeing. If you are considering using them, I strongly advise you to avoid this company.
Extortionate prices, coporate greed
Extortionate prices, corporate GREED- while the CEO Leonhard Birnbaum makes over 6 million in salary with bonuses and the company earnt €4.531 billion last year, they continue to nickle and dime their customers. This is corporate greed is at the expense of their customers and their employees who barely scape by. I would avoid them if I had a choice.
Such a pleasure to read these review
Such a pleasure to read these review. I felt alone in the wilderness with this horrific company.
Of course, I wouldn't have given them a star at all if I was able to give zero stars.
Their long term contracts for District Heating Systems has left many people, including me, paying high bills (particularly for standing charges) for poor service. The admin staff seem to have been trained to be unpleasant and unhelpful and sometimes inaccurate to such a degree it is difficult not to think it is deliberate.
EON heat standard charge rise like a rocket, you have no control
We are bound to a long term contract with EON Heat due to the new build transaction agreement. We use the heat1 program for 3 years, they sent us a notice before April 2025 stated "the comparator price is lower than EON standard heat price formula, so EON applied the lower rate to the standard tariff."
So I suppose that they are going to lower our standard charge, right? Of course not! From 1 April 2025, our standard service charged was jumped from £38.293p to £80.26 per day (over double)!! I wrote to them, then they said it's due to inflation rate and we are bound by agreement. I don't mind they tell me increase the standard charge due to inflation rate at the very beginning, but it's disgusting when I got the message saying they "applied the lower rate to the standard tariff" which was not true at all!!! Think twice before looking into EON heat.
Terrible management
I recently submitted my readings in May and June, expecting the team to adjust my bills accordingly and no longer over estimate my bills. However, the bills came even more expensive than the previous estimated bills (while in fact I was only using only half of its estimated value). The customer service team is uncommunicable and refuses to adjust the bills properly.
Engineers are cowboys
I've been a customer for years...no option to change from them as my home is part of a district heating system.
In that time, countless visits by engineers because the system failed, many times during the winter months. Engineers are a mixed bag ..some good..some blatantly lie to make you feel something is happening when as soon as they walk out of the door, there will be no further action taken to resolve your reported faults. Also 8 out of 10 times engineers don't even come out at the arranged time. You arrange it with their customer service dept...but somehow the engineer doesn't get booked in or engineer won't know about it. You waste your time waiting at home on agreed date!
I've reported them to the ombudsman and got compensation...but a couple of visits later it's the same. Eon aren't serious about providing a reliable service so if you have the choice...DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! 💯
The worst company with i deal with
The worst company with i deal with
I bought house with communal heating
Providing by eon heat
From day 1 when we move in there wasn't hot water
We book engineer he's fix that
After 1 month happened again
Guy coming after 5 days and fix it
More than month after same guy come back and do the same (fix it)no hot water again!!!
Now this time 4th visit guy told he can't fix it and he will put on his raport unit has to be changed (after week with out water hot)
Tuesday i was call them asking what's going on
So they top engineers has meeting and they planning what to do
I call them every day and I hear same story apologise and this been accepted changed whole unit
But for some reason they waiting for green lights from they lead engineer
This is rubbish they collected money every month for something with doesn't work
Is shame I can't change provider but straight i change electric from eon next
I don't want to deal with this people any more in my life and today is nearly 2 weeks without hot water
Shame on you eon heat
Terrible
I had a guy out to fix a leak- he made out that he was doing me a favour to fix it hat day and made such a fuss and now jus two weeks later there is whistling and clicking noises coming from the unit which it never made before. When an engineer come out you have to wait all day and cant go out incase they come- no approx arrival time. You have to go through so much on the phone to book an engineer, it's exhausting. Never had this with any other service provided previously- unfortunately I can't change :(
Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star
Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star! Every week there is issues with no hot water! How are we meant to live like this… the kids need baths and showers but how can they with stone cold water. Sort it out !!!!!
If no stars was an option I would do…
If no stars was an option I would do this. 3rd day with the whole estate having outages of hot water and heating. not one single update from eon. 2 days no showers, or choice of ice cold shower in winter. No reimbursement at all. How they expect people to live like this is beside me! Awful awful company who live in the dark ages. Currently looking at how we get our house off of the district system. Avoid at all costs
Eon Heat is absolutely rubbish
Eon Heat is the biggest ever scam. I can't afford to heat my home due to the extortionate service charges and unit costs, and we frequently have development-wide outages, sometimes hot water but (less often) their equipment breaks leaving us with no running water at all. I can't even report the lack of hot water outside of 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, so if it breaks on Friday evening it's a whole weekend without hot water (while paying their service charge for the privilege).
