Haworth Guitars started from very humble beginnings in the late 1990's with high school industrial arts teacher Phil Haworth leaving his full time teaching job to start his own business building and repairing guitars. Phil's son Glenn then took the reigns of the business and built it to a thriving in store and online retail operation. In 2024 the business changed hands to two brothers, Phil & Joel who intend to run a first class shop, school and online retail operation.

They don't deliver

I purchased a bass guitar online last September. They did not have the stock and did not have any indication of when they might have any stock. They did not return my phone calls or emails. Refused to refund me. I was lucky to have purchased with paypal, so I was given a refund via them, but the store did not give me a refund when requested. 6 months this has been going on and I finally got my refund through paypal. They never shipped me the guitar.

Avoid. Long delays and ignored refund requests.

I ordered an Epiphone Casino in September 2025. It’s now February 2026 and I still haven’t received the guitar, or any tracking. I sent multiple emails asking for an ETA and they kept saying that they had supplier issues that were nearly fixed. When I got fed up and asked for a refund, they literally just stopped responding to me. I'm currently trying to get my money back via PayPal dispute.

I am STILL waiting for a $750+ refund…

I am STILL waiting for a $750+ refund after multiple contacts for a guitar l ordered in September and cancelled because they couldn't tell me when the hell it would arrive. They have now been reported to the ACCC with a Consumer Affairs complaint to follow. I personally will not do business with Haworth Guitars again.

Making promises they can’t deliver on

Bought a couple of items during a “10% off store wide sale”. Both items were “available to order”. I was contacted shortly thereafter to say that one item
was not available and they provided an immediate refund. Despite assurances that the other item was only a few weeks away, it failed to arrive. I chased them up 4 weeks later, then 6 weeks, then 8 weeks. They gave me a 100% guarantee it would arrive by the end of the week. It didn’t…. Upon request I received a full refund.
I would have given a 1 star review because the end result was so disappointing, however they at least communicated well and agreed to the refund without issue.
I just felt they made promises that they knew that they couldn’t deliver.
I will never buy from them again and would discourage anyone to buy anything that isn’t in stock.

WTAF 🤣

Bought something because it was cheap. Waited two weeks and nothing happened. Contacted them to cancel the order if they couldn’t update the order. Nothing happened. Then they issued me a refund.
Bought it cheaper elsewhere, delivered in a week.

Avoid deposit or full payment in advance with this company

in May, 2025, I happened to know this company on searching the Yamaha guitar -A5R - on the Maket Place. It said available in stock.

I clicked the link, registered and put in cart. Later invoice suggested 10% discount, I accepted and paid in full.

Next day, a lady called it was not in stock and I had to wait till August. I said that was my dream of that guitar and I already paid in full through the PayPal instalment, so just let it be so.

In August, I emailed twice, and rang up … the Lady said I would have to wait till November or December this year again. While as the buyer’s protection of PayPal lasts only 3 months.

I then asked for the full refund, but received only delays and lame excuses that she did not have password of the PayPal account. I had to lodge a complaint and reviews through the PayPal to have the refund.

In short, it is a not reliable company. They might have done hundreds or thousands of other similar victims to get benefits deposited into their accounts.

Great customer service

Heading to Ireland soon, so ordered a hard case for my mandolin. Cut it a bit fine timewise, and then they emailed to say it was going to be late.
I requested a refund and it was all done quickly, no hassles.
Even though it was at least partly my fault.
So, no mando case, but good customer service.

Full package destination

Full package destination!
I bought a beautiful acoustic guitar, amp and mic plus all accessories from Haworth. Not only did I get a great price the staff helped me with my guitar choice and I have loved using all equipment since! Would definitely recommend!!

Master-class in customer service!

Haworth had a guitar we wanted to get our soon to be 18yo listed for significantly cheaper than local competitors. Local prices essentially put it out of our budget. I had called Haworth previously just to ask a few questions on another guitar that they also had for good price (and also just to get a vibe because the less favourable reviews had me a tad concerned). Matt answered straight away and was a wealth of information and so generous with his time and his willingness to look up and check things I was interested in, despite me telling him I wouldn't be purchasing anything that day.
After a week or so, and such a positive experience the first time, we decided to order the Ibanez SA260FM for the teen. I called again to order and this time spoke to Chris? Who was equally awesome. I queried the price, concerned it was seconds or something (seemed too good to be true!) And also delivery times to get from VIC to QLD in time for the bday. He assured me it was not, and that he would make sure it arrived in time.
A few days later it arrived, in plenty of time for us to check it over and wrap it up. It was perfect!
Thanks to the guys at Haworth Guitars from us and a very happy, grateful18yo who is either at work, out with mates or jamming on his new Ibanez.

Everytime I purchase from Hayworth Guitars it's smooth sailing all the way.
RYAN is the man !
Look for Ryan if you need something done right.
He is kind , polite and happy to help.
Only place to shop is Hayworth Guitars , no store comes close.
I've told friends and family to only shop there it's 5 stars from me.

Poor Customer Service

Initial contact was great. Staff are friendly and helpful. I purchased the "Overnight" shipping at extra cost. The overnight shipping was completely ignored even at the extra cost. I purchased Sunday online and paid for overnight. The guitar was not even packed until Tuesday then sent by road courier at the slowest cheapest option "Toll road express" which means by road when ever it get there. So I requested a refund for the over charged "Overnight Express" that I was charged for with the promise it would be refunded... This also has not happened. The guitar is great but sadly the service is very much below simple expectations.

Paid $207 for Yamaha JR3/4 but Never…

Will give a negative star if I can.
Paid $207 for Yamaha JR3/4 but Never received the item. Called multiple time but claim that the item been sent directly from supplier and they have no idea what was supplier doing what an odds answer.
Only said the items has been send but can not provided any tracing number.
I call again after three months they told me the item has yet not left the supplier. I request a refund they a free to do it on that day and will send me an email confirm. Two days later I have not received anything. I can again to follow up, been told that they need to speak to someone that currently in the meeting and they will call me back as soon as possible.
Two days later I haven’t received any phone call.
I have to open the dispute through my financial company still waiting for the outcome.
If you do not want hassle I your life and don’t want to pay for nothing stay away from this shop.

Worst guitar shop ive ever dealt with

I ordered a guitar on the 1st nov, recieved an email 2 days later saying it was coming from a warehouse and it would take 2 weeks max, i immediately replied thanking them for the update and also asked about getting some heavier gauge strings and some seymour duncan pickups, no reply.

2 and half weeks went by with no communication so i emailed again asking for an ETA, they told me there was an issue with processing the order and that they would refund my express shipping cost and still send it via express, they didnt. They sent it via standard postage.

I got the guitar on the 1st dec, as i opened the box i immediately noticed it was covered in swirls, scratches all over the guitar, there was corrosion on the frets, fingerprint smudges, 3 strings weren't sitting in the grooves in the saddle and it came tuned, the plastic on the tuners was old and falling off, they have a haworth garentee and have a 35 point inspection on their guitars before theyre sent out. I emailed on the 2nd dec and didnt get a reply, 6 days later, still no reply, i emailed the manager and he organised a return on the 7th, they recieved the guitar on the 8th dec, its now the 15th dec and i still havent heard back from them. I have now submitted a complaint to the ACCC for a full refund. Do not shop with haworth guitars. Their apologies are unsincere, their customer service is trash, they dont keep their promises. They haven't even sent me an invoice. Save your time and shop elsewhere

DO NOT BUY FROM HAWORTH

Haworth used to be a great place to buy guitars. However in the last 2 or so years their prices have gone through the roof and everything you see can be found much cheaper elsewhere. Do not go with Haworth.
