The day before her birthday they still hadn’t shipped the gift. After many calls to customer service they said there was nothing they could do. It finally arrived many days past her birthday. So disappointing
Ripoff
I ordered there most expensive food basket, and tossed in a Raspberry desert. I also ordered a card. Instead of delivering both at the same time, they delivered each separately, plus HD made two cards, exactly the same, and charged me for two cards. These people don't know what they're doing and I will never use HD again, nor should you.
Outstanding Customer Service
I received 5-star customer service from Melissa, who took my order, Toni, who greatly helped to expedite it and kept in touch with me, and Brian( from Oregon) who was also most helpful and cordial. They are among the many reasons that I love Harry and David's. They value me and connect well with me, the customer. They made this past experience a most positive one and I am truly grateful to them! Melissa, Toni, and Brian are awesome on steroids!!
bad pears
i received a gift from my sister. the packaged stuff was good, the pears were bad. lets put it this way, i would not have picked them in a store. they looked like they were picked out of a garbage can. black

I have been a loyal customer of Harry & David for years, sending beautiful & delicious gifts to family, friends and colleagues with rave reviews.
Recently I sent my 82 yr old brother a gift basket for which I payed extra to make certain that Harry & David delivered his gift basket on time . My original date of delivery, May 6, to my brother came & went ,my package wasn’t delivered. I set another later delivery date , May 13, with Harry & David & again no package arrived .
Harry & David offered to reimburse me for a lower amount (23 percent)for the gift basket I had placed on my credit card. Harry & David wanted to schedule a third delivery date. And I was referred to the loyalty department. This whole debacle took more than 5 hours with long waits as I was shuffled between multiple agent having to repeat the entire story with no resolution.
I cancelled my order.
I gave up and contacted my credit card company & and the refund is in process.
My review is unfortunately one of many dissatisfied customers. I am no longer a Harry & David customer
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Not only do the orders not arrive on time, but it’s not because of shipping delays - it’s because they never even shipped it out anywhere close to the promised delivery date.
We paid for two day air delivery and the package never showed up for my mother in laws birthday. When we called we were shocked that it hadn’t even shipped yet! By the time it arrived, she had already left on vacation for 3 weeks. Her birthday gift then sat on her porch for three weeks!
My husband called H&D and they promised to send another $200 gift basket to arrive when my mother in law is back from vacation. That date has come and gone and still nothing!
So my husband spent an hour on chat with their reps today who literally couldn’t even find the order in the system. My husband said to them, how can you not see the order when I’m looking at it in my account right here on my screen? Their response to that was that they’ve been having numerous problems with their ordering platform. During this chat he was disconnected and had to reach out yet again and start from the beginning with yet another rep. What a nightmare.
We now have another promised delivery date a week and half from the date I’m writing this review.
Do yourself a favor. Do not order from this company. They can’t adhere to promised delivery dates, they can’t find your order in the system, you’ll end up speaking with some phone rep who is stationed somewhere in India.
We will never use this company again and if we don’t receive the next order we are going straight to our credit card company and the better business bureau for reimbursement of expedited shipping fees and broken promises on delivery dates.

It took 2 months for my delivery to get here. My sister in law had to order it 3 times. The 1st one was supposed to get here December 7 ,2025. I got it February 7,2026. All of the pears were rotten and the apples are not far behind. Every time we called they lied and said it was on it's way but wouldn't give us a tracking number. When we went to tracking on their website, there was nothing there. All of their customer service people are foreign, which means they are out sourcing to another country. I would not suggest ordering from them ever.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Harry & David. I ordered an fruit tower for a friend who had just undergone surgery, and the timing of the gift was important. Instead, the shipping label wasn’t even created until the last day it was supposed to arrive, and the package ended up being over a week late.
When something is meant to show support during a vulnerable moment, a delayed delivery isn’t just an inconvenience — it completely undermines the purpose of the gift. Simply offering to replace the order isn’t enough when the moment has passed. You don’t get a mulligan for something like this.
I chose Harry & David specifically because of their reputation, but this experience was embarrassing and deeply disappointing. I expected better from a brand known for reliability, and I hope they take situations like this more seriously in the future.
Pears were over- ripe upon arrival
This is the last time I order from H&D. Every time I've had some issue with delivery time, product quality on arrival, or problem resolution. Don't waste your time!
I'd give zero stars if possible
I'd give zero stars if possible. They are a scam, I think. I ordered 2 baskets for a friend who just lost her husband. One was delivered as scheduled and the second still has not arrived and likely will be frozen when it does. Customer service is completely useless - even the actual humans, not just the bots. They just make the situation worse by arguing with the customer. Obviously Harry and David doesn't care at all about their crappy reputation.

I would leave NO STARS as Harry and David is a rip off - my order was placed on 31 December 2025 and as it is now 22 Jan 2026 still waiting for delivery. they have a smart way of not leaving an email for communication, there is a phone number but what happens when you try to call?? Try it WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!
Disappointing
I’ve sent gifts to a friend. It’s quite pricey but she’s so wonderful and she always said the fruit was good. One of my favorite fruits are honey bells/tangelo so I splurged. One year I couldn’t find in the stores IN season and I live in Florida. I splurged and was so excited and was trying not to focus on high price. They were in transit for several days (showed up 3 days past when it stayed). It was as NOT worth it. Such a disappointment. Half of them were over ripe and the others were not as good as I’ve had in the past. Yes it’s only fruit but so expensive. Would have been worth it if they were good quality but they were not good at all. May be just bad luck but I’ll never trust Harry& David again.

Received gift basket at Christmas which was classic tower. Fruit received was spoiled and 3 items were missing. Contacted company and they were willing to replace. Received new package after 2 weeks and again the fruit was spoiled. One item was missing. Candy items were of good quality, others not so much. Smoked salmon was a piece of filet which crumbled into pieces when removing from the package Did not taste like salmon or had smoked taste, was oily and not pleasant.
NEVER AGAIN
This was my first and LAST experience with H&D. The product was outrageously overpriced, but I allowed myself to be taken in by the unsolicited marketing email I received. I will NOT be buying again - EVER. I needed to place the order by phone because the product of interest suddenly vanished from their website. During ordering, I simply asked the rep if it was possible to request a larger slab of meat (brisket) rather than a smaller size, as the range of weights for the product varied significantly. Of course, the rep acknowledged and stated she would submit the request, but could not ensure the request would be considered. Well…surprise, surprise – it wasn’t. I suppose nobody involved in order picking has the time or inclination to consider any customer request. I’ll give you 3 guesses what size slab I received…yep – the absolute minimum size possible – and at an obnoxiously outrageous price per pound. NEVER AGAIN. So there you have it. NEVER AGAIN, my ‘friends’…you just lost another customer for life. I discovered I can buy far better quality meat, prepared how I want it, for much less money at a local butcher shop. Thank you very little. I’m more pissed at myself for making such an idiotic error at my age – I should know better. I told you not to be stupid, you moron.
Don't waste your time and save yourself from disappointment.
I placed an order on December 23rd to be delivered the next day on the 24th. I paid the extra $43 to expedite. Long story short, it was delivered on January 6th. I was told several times it was in route and was going to be delivered. I finally got the package sent to a nearby FedEx pickup. It was never picked up and then it finally got delivered on January 6th. They did refund the express shipping. I didn't realize this was the second time I had such horrible experience with him until I searched my order history.
