Shady at best
Posted jobs on Linkedin always redirect you to a "signup to apply" despite that you are already logged in. You login and you can never really apply. Hackajob allegedly only allows company to apply to you, not the other way thus making the Linkedin job apply a scam just to have your details on their website.
Also once I have joined I had a company proposed a job to me for a role that made no sense to my skills and requirements.
I had a look at the reviews for hackajob here on trustpilot and I sense a lot of them seem fake or made with the help of AI

Thanks for your feedback, it's clear we can do a better job explaining how the system works up front, we're looking into this.
The sign up flow is essentially the first step in applying to any job on platform, the information collected is used to help each company create a smaller/more relevant list of candidates who can then be requested to interview, where this is jarring is you as a candidate don't see that work going on in the background.
The first time you have any experience of it, is when you get the request, the positive being you don't waste time on any requests which don't match your criteria, but if you aren't requested for the role you initially saw I can see how that leads to a negative perception.

They have one company signed up on their platform in the US. Yet they are happy to get user data from me. Over that they call me to reply to roles I am clearly not matching. Very shady practices.

With regards to the US customers that's not true, we have a lot of active US companies, however it can be an easy assumption to make as it's possible only one company requested you during your experience on the platform.

Hi Ram,
On the platform there are various request types, call, application and technical test - with a call request you're booked in directly with the recruiter, if a company chooses to use application request then indeed it will be on the company to process your application and then update their ATS/the platform accordingly.
We do provide updates wherever possible but in some instances you'll need to be on the lookout for an email directly from the company that requested you.
