Wished I had read the reviews first

I certainly won't be purchasing anything more from this shop very poor customer service I purchased some Dubarry socks arrived but package damaged even sent them photos of the damage so i returned them but had to purchase postage before hand at £3 95 got refund for the purchase but wouldn't pay the return postage so I lost that kept getting emails saying how easy to return things i don't think it is so be careful when ordering of this company i definitely know I won't be ever again

Poor Quality Products and Poor Customer Service

Two items I ordered (gloves and yard boots) were poor quality/badly designed. The Hy high-viz gloves were advertised as riding gloves but were so stiff and inflexible you couldn't possibly hold the reins properly - could actually have been dangerous in certain situations. I decided I would just use them for yard work but they were useless for this too as they were too stiff even to wear filling a haynet. I binned them in the end.
The second item was Hy yard boots with velcro fasteners.
The boots did not fit snugly around your heel so that your foot kept lifting out. After only a couple of months, the velcro fasteners became so worn and frayed that they would not stay closed at all. The lining at the heel also wore away so that the hard inner material was exposed. I contacted GS Equestrian and explained the problems. I also informed them that although I had bought the boots 6 months previously, I had only been wearing them for 4 months. They asked me to send photos which I did. Their response was they " could not identify faults from the photos and that this was normal wear and tear". Will not be using this company again.

Don’t understand the negative reviews

This company has always sent things quicker than expected. I can’t believe this company isn’t rated 5* on here. They always price everything very fairly - actually at the lower end of some equestrian retailers and the delivery is super speedy. They have never messed an order up and have always displayed it clearly on the website if an item will take longer than expected. Thank you!

Always an excuse - never a solution

Ordered 3 times from here. Every.Single.Time there has been an excuse as to why my order is taking so long! Oh we are waiting on X Y or Z coming in to stock. News flash - if something isnt in stock have it on the website as out of stock! Or if you cant do this then email your customers to explain. 2 weeks waiting and not even sent. Order was cancelled and refund requested. Will not order again and business also reported to watchdog.

Really quick delivery and excellent…

Really quick delivery and excellent communication. I was concerned after reading previous reviews but there were no problems at all, I’d recommend. I ordered boots which didn’t fit and had to be returned, they arrived for a refund quickly and the company let me know.

Really slow delivery

Really slow delivery! They only show good reviews on their site.

I would love to love it because it appears a great order site and great prices but they say 3 days you will have it and I’m still waiting on day 5 for a dispatch email.

Communication was very poor for a previous order also which I cancelled in the end.

Superb quality leads

Superb quality leads, soft and well made. I emailed to check delivery date as it seemed to be taking a while, and immediately had a response and received the item the next day. Would order from them again for sure.

Woefully slow company to post anything…

Woefully slow company to post anything and respond to queries. I have cancelled my order ive been waiting over 2 weeks now and will be ordering from another company tomorrow , its a shame as prices and variety seem quite good but I wont be using again.

Is This A Scam

Is This A Scam? They took my money and wont respond at all.

I've just sent this the useless company.
On the 24th of December 2025 I purchased a gift voucher to the value of £100.00 via your website.

This was processed via my bank on the 24th of December 2025.

I asked the voucher to go to the email address cxxxxxxxxxx

I supplied my personal details on the form as Mrs C Wxxxxxxxxx

The Gift Voucher never arrived.

I am a previous customer of yours and previously used the email address info@xxxxxxxxxx However your company company was blocked from this address as, following orders I placed placed with your company, I was constantly bombarded by you with unwanted marketing emails.

As to date, 18th January, I have not received any communication from you and have resorted to asking my daughter to email you with my email address cxxxxxxxxxx

She has emailed you numerous times and all you tell her is the gift voucher has been sent to my email address. I have received nothing from you. She asked for a telephone number for your company but has not received a reply.

It is now 24 days since I purchased this GIFT voucher without any communication from you whatsoever. I want a refund for the full amount. If this is not reached me by midnight on Tuesday, the 20th of January I am reporting you to Trading Standards. As you have have taken my money, not provided any product and not dealt with numerous complaints we’ve sent you. If no refund is forthcoming by midnight January 20th I shall report this as a scam to trading standards.

Ridiculously Slow dispatch and delivery

The items are good. But my God dispatched and delivery is extremely slow. I am yet to place an order without having to email them, to ask where my order is. They also sell items that are out of stock and don't tell you, andjust expect you to wait weeks for your order. If you need anything quick. Then don't order from them

Still waiting for item

Still waiting for item. Very slow at despatch have been on live chat (whom seem friendly enough)they seem to think 5-7 working days is acceptable. I was under the impression item was from overseas the time it is taking but hence no company are uk based and still no tracking . Hopefully items gets despatched by Friday . If not I shall be complaining . Re update 30th Jan. Exchanged an item . A lot quicker despatch this time. Hopefully just the xmas period it was slow .

Poor Service and Communication

The items themselves were great and the staff were very friendly. However, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor communication and misleading information.

I placed my order on Boxing Day, so I understood there could be delays, but after nearly two weeks with no updates, I contacted customer support to ask about the status as I needed the items. I was told the order had already been dispatched from the warehouse and that, due to the size of the items, they couldn’t be sent via Royal Mail. I was assured I would receive a tracking number later that day, but no tracking information or update ever arrived.

After waiting a few more days, I called again and was then told the order had not actually been dispatched previously, but that it had now been sent out that day and I would receive an update. I mentioned that I would be happy to accept a refund if the items hadn’t yet been sent, but was instead told they were already on their way.

The following day, my order arrived via Royal Mail with no tracking information at all. This left me feeling misled and fobbed off by the customer support team. It also gave the impression that items were being advertised without actually being in stock.

If I had been told upfront that the items were awaiting stock and that I would be updated once dispatched or been offered the option of a refund I would have been completely understanding. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I don’t think I’ll be making any future purchases.

Let down for Christmas

Ordered a pair of Dublin River Boots in size 5 extra wide. On arrival the calf fit wasn’t right at all, despite having used the size chart measurements. These were a Christmas gift so I returned requesting a size 5 wide in exchange.

The replacement arrived today but I have been sent a size 6 Regular! A completely different size. At this point I have no chance of sourcing a replacement in the right size in time for Christmas & the recipient won’t be able to use over the holidays as planned. Extremely disappointed.

Great customer support

I bought a coat and then noticed a fault and was able to email and speak to an actual person (Lydnsay) they could not have been more helpful. Exceptional customer support and I would definitely shop with them again. Disappointed about the coat but can’t fault GS Equestrian customer support.

HY Lightweight Waterproof Jacket

I ordered a jacket for my daughter but before doing so I had questions on a couple of items to make sure I was ordering the right thing.
The responses I received were quick, very helpful, courteous and professional and made it easy to make a decision.
The jacket arrived a couple of days after the Royal Mail notification and it is indeed a fine thing and the daughter will look and feel warm and dry and comfortable on the horse.
I just wanted to send a shout out to the service staff at GS for their help and professionalism. It’s not often I see this level of helpfulness and pride.

Slow dispatch and poor communication

Over a week from placing an order for in stock items and still waiting for it to be dispatched and no communication regarding estimated delivery date other than a single email saying it is delayed

If you want to be let down and lied to, order from GS equestrian

I wish I had read the reviews before buying from GS Equestrian.

I placed an order on 19/11 as the website advised my items would arrive in plenty of time for a birthday on 01/12. I even checked estimated arrival time before purchasing. Order now for delivery between 28/11 and 29/11 the website said. So I placed my order.

I’ve heard nothing since. No dispatch notifications, not a peep.

So I reach out to customer service concerned we are now on Wednesday and still no dispatch.

Instead of doing anything , the handler chose to try and point out that the website said 8 working days to handle my order - not to deliver it. And thanked me for my patience and understanding….

Well I’m neither patient nor understanding nor is it easy to lie to me because I will come with receipts. Such as a screenshot of the website today which clearly states order now for delivery between 5/12 and 8/12… which is 8 working day. Delivery … not handling.

Another screenshot of my order confirms that GS equestrian states my order will be delivered between 28/11 and 29/11. Delivered … not start to be handled.

If you’re going to lie … make sure your customers can’t fact check you. You’ve got an opportunity to make this right. And if you’re thinking about blaming it on supply delays… don’t. You don’t get to use that excuse now you’ve been called out , not after radio silence since the date of purchase, not whilst your website prompts people to hurry while stocks last

I suggest you stop hiding behind excuses and provide the service you advertise on your website
