I have self-published my first & probably only book with Grosvenor House Publishing - Ghosts of the Shankill - and it was a very enjoyable and straightforward experience. Melanie looked after me and she was always polite and very helpful with any queries. They have delivered what they promised - it is available to buy at all major book sellers so I couldn't be happier. I have no hesitation in recommending them and it was money well spent to utilise their experience and knowledge in this competitive market.

The hotel is too good for there customers. The quality, facilities & employees are first class. We are staying from December 2025 to March 28th 2026 during the MINOR troubles. I cannot reccomend enough for everybody in the UK to come and stay at the hotel especially Now March 2026 and experience a UNIQUE time in Dubai that you are unlikely to see again

I had the pleasure of working with Jasmine on my book, Shoe-spiration,and she was truly wonderful-very professional, friendly, kind and helpful, and any questions I had-she happily and quickly answered. The communication was excellent, and Jasmine and GHP worked with me to get my book exactly how I wanted, and I was always kept in the loop of what was happening. As I was making a picture book-it took a few edits to get it how I envisioned-but they were more than happy to do it,and the results were brilliant, I'm thrilled with my book and will definitely go back to them next time I make another one. If you are a writer with a dream, look no further. GHP will make it happen for you. This has been my experience from beginning to end. I received advance copies of my poetry collection yesterday and, wow. Absolutely and exactly what I wished for. Both Julie Scott and Jasmine, my contact througout, were endlessly patient, kind, and understanding in getting me to this stage. The way my book looks and feels simply radiates quality. I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to IT, but Jasmine couldn't have been more helpful in guiding me through what often feels to me like The Labyrinth of Doom. It occurs to me that with so many things going wrong in the world, and which tend to happen to everybody sooner or later, when something like this goes so marvellously right, it allmost feels like there's been a huge mistake. I have just completed my latest book with the help and support of Grosvenor House. It will be published in March 2026. The typesetting, illustration and general 'feel' of the book is everything I could have hoped for. And more. My previous two books, with another publisher, came out well, but with this company the result is so much more distinguished.

Throughout the process I was helped and encouraged at every stage. The person who walked through the process with me was Julie Scott. She was positive and did everything she could to make the process easy, even those technical issues that I found difficult to handle. She was very friendly and always reachable, and I felt understood and valued all the time.

I checked out on a couple of publishers before finding GHP. From the first contact, I made up my mind to go with GHP to handle the publication of my book. The professional service and patience offered by Grosvenor House Publishing is to be celebrated. Writing a first novel is quite daunting in itself but then facing the challenges of self publishing takes the concerns to another level. All the team in Grosvenor House Publishing; from the initial telephone conversation to publication were dedicated to providing assistance in a timely manner and achieving the best outcome within the available budget. My first novel was published on 8th September 2022: a day I dreaded all my life and the day I dreamed of since the age of seven i.e. the day Queen Elizabeth II passed away was the same day my first book was published. The circumstances were surreal especially as my first book was covering the topic of grief and looking into the fallout on the family after a mother dies. The publication date was set by GHP in August 2022 (if I recall correctly) so neither of us could see into the future. I am now working on Book 5.Seeing my novels advertised on various global retail websites is still difficult to believe and my family are taken aback by the achievement. I am waiting for the Film Producer to get in contact with opportunities to open the next door. The wait may be long or there may be surprise for us all if there is a short pause before moving on to the new adventure. That is the great thing about being a writer: your imagination brings you to realms of dreams in techicolour. But you never know until your try.
Please persevere and be published. A wonderful legacy to leave for future generations.

Recommendations for an author before
self-publishing your first novel: -
Please familiarise yourself with different fonts and practical layout of text in WORD.
If you are working with an artist to prepare the Front Cover, I strongly recommend a conversation is organised with GHP, the artist and you to ensure everyone is working from the same script.
The concept and phraseology of -
"2mm trim tolerance applies to either side of the crop mark"
and
"when the spine is a different block colour to the front or back cover, there’s a chance of a misalignment when printed."
and
"300dpi resolution - jpeg file"
(just as a few examples)
was overwhelming. Therefore, if you can follow online tuition before starting on the process it will definitely help. If I can manage to get through you most certainly can but, believe me, it is better to be prepared.
I found that personal photos work well for a Front Cover and are cost effective, so that it is a good compromise as you find your feet metaphorically and acclimatize to the different technical expressions.

Sometimes a publisher may offer a reasonable package and people ask, why did you leave them? People change publishers because they are unhappy about the service. It's how you present your work that's important. I knew that my stories were good, but I didn't like the way they were being presented. I thought it was wasting a good story. So getting your book done by a publisher that cares about your work is important. That's why I choose Grosvenor House Publishing to publish my book, Last Stop Hotel, and my new book, The Dead Don't Bite, will be coming out early next year. Thank you GHP. I decided to look into GHP after coming across them in the W&A yearbook. The service is excellent. I have worked with Jasmine on my first three books, and I can't tell you how impressed I've been. I am so glad that I decided to use GHP. I enjoyed umpteen rejections of my military history book by all the recognised publishers of that genre. All of them said they liked it, that it was well written etc., but all wanted to cut the length by half and one said they no longer publish titles about the Napoleonic war era. Simply frustrating, not least because of the amount of time the depressing process wasted. But with GHP I had positive responses and moreover felt in control from the start. They were really helpful (many thanks Julie!) throughout, with everything carefully explained. The far too numerous changes I requested after each proof were cheerfully accepted (and very carefully incorporated). I have recently self-published my second book with GHP and I can't fault the professionalism and dedication of the team.
