I was charged for 10 weeks of service that I never received. When trying to sort it out I was given the run around between Biffa the Arun Council and Green Waste Club. None of which took responsibility for helping me. Now that my contract is renewed I’m being told I can’t get a refund. Customer service is atrocious. If I could give 0 stars I would. 1 star is too much for this kind of service.

They have failed to collect my green waste club for over 5 weeks.
I have emailed them and Arun district council who are equally as useless on more than one occasion and received no response whatsoever. I paid in advance or a 12 month subscription.
They don't even reply to their reviews on Trust Pilot, which are all negative.
Does not adhere to terms and ignores complaints
I really regret signing up for this service. My entire area's bin collections were missed and nobody got any notification of why. I spent several days trying to call the company but nobody picked up the phone. Eventually got through three days later to be told that the lorry had broken down and no delivery was attempted. As such they wouldn't be reattempting until the next collection date two weeks later (despite everyone's bins already being full). I was told we could include up to three bags along with our next collection but not to seal them as they would need to inspect they only contained garden waste. I didn't relish the prospect of the contents being strewn all over my garden by the wind.
I then emailed a complaint as I felt not bothering to reattempt the missed collection was unreasonable. I got no response (or even acknowledgement) until I chased it up again a week later. I was then told that the reason I had to wait two weeks is that I didn't report my bin being missed within 24 hours. I explained that I shouldn't need to let them know my collection had been missed as they already knew they hadn't attempted it.
They only have interest in collecting your money, once something goes wrong it's tough and you should just deal with not getting the service that you pay for. I cannot wait until my contract term is over and I can get the service through the council instead.

Paid the remaining fee and also the bin collection fee... Over 3 months have passed... numerous emails that they are now just ignoring...a few phonecalls and still...the bin has not been collected.... it's been sitting there on the curb since January. Horrendous service.
Fine until I cancelled subscription...
While I was using the bin service it was great. Bins were collected every two weeks, I could find the schedule online, and the price was reasonable.
I paid for a two year subscription and a year in moved house. They wouldn't refund me for the year I wasn't using the bins and insisted on charging me a £12 charge per bin (I have two) for a bin removal fee, even though the bins weren't being removed, as the new owners wanted to continue the service and started a subscription in their names.
I understand these were in the terms and conditions but it seems grossly unfair and unreasonable. I won't be using them again - I'll use the plastic non-eco friendly bags the council provide instead.
Bins often not collected
Bins often not collected . Over a month now. As I am on the assisted collection list (disability) no doubt they can't be arsed to get the bin

I paid £12 to have my garden waste bin collected 3 months ago and I am still waiting for it to be collected. I asked for a refund and was told no because they said that when they had come to collect the bin it wasn't at my property when it was. I won't be using them again.

Yet another subscription service where they make cancellation as difficult as possible.
Moved out of property and sent email to cancel with 6 months to end of year service. They replied by email to acknowledge cancellation but replied that I had the £12 to pay.
Spent hours on phone to attempt to pay, but they never answered the phone. So I completed the cancellation form with my card details and posted that. They must have received this form as a few days later they processed my card details for the £12.
Now five months later they are harassing me for my subscription! - fortunately I had cancelled the original direct debit.
How do you deal with a company who never answered the phone and are not competent to complete a cancellation.
Diabolical customer service.
Numerous missed bin collections in the past - Not usually a probelm during winter months. This summer no bin collected at end of July. Reported by email (after waiting on the phone for ages) Was told that it would be collected following day - Left out but never collected until 2 weeks later on scheduled collection date. I requested a refund of my subscription payment by email - No response. Then collection missed at end of August. Reported and no response after 6 emails a response syaing i needed to report it before midnight on the scheduled day. I did. 11 days later (2 days before my next collection they apologised and said I could leave up to 2 black bags of garden waste next to my bin. I hadn't of course gathered 2 black bags of garden waste as the bin is used to collect waste. I requested a refund of my August fee as I had 2 missed collections and i was told they couldnt do that and in future I should report the missed collections before then end of the scheduled day. I had done this both times. Basically i have been paying for a service that they have not provided and it seems they do not give a damn about this. Computer says no to refunds.
Cancel of contract has changed my opinion on this service
After 5 years of being a customer with no issues I would have left a different review, however after cancelling my subscription their service from then to now has left a sour taste in my mouth.
We are moving and as they do not cover where we are going and my subscription was due to renew I saw that they do not offer partial refunds so decided to cancel.
Gave notice by completing the required form and sent it with a cheque for the £12 collection fee. Didn't receive a confirmation so I contacted them to check they had received the cancel request, they confirmed that they had, requested bin be left on front of drive and would collect in 10-12 working days. I duly did this, due to usage of drive had to move bin each time to exit and drive into my home, replacing it each time. After 12 days got fed up doing this and tried to contact them via email to see what's happening, no response. I eventually moved the bin up the drive making sure it is still visible to them for collection but allowing me to access my driveway. 6 weeks after contract ended the bin is still here!
Contacted via phone to be told that they are behind (no kidding) but needed bin to be a front of drive as they are not insured to go onto properties! Other posts say otherwise.
Explained had done that for 12 days and the issues of leaving it there, I suggested that perhaps if they gave a date and time for its collection it would be useful.
They said would look into it and call me back, 7 days letter no call received.
Absolutely useless strangely as soon as I cancelled the DD I received an email to tell me that I had done this, obviously I know this as contract had ended and I didn't want them carry on taking money and have issues trying to get it refunded from them.
Really bad company to deal with
Pretty sure will see this company on Rogue Traders at some point. Terrible company, don’t adhere to any terms. May collect the bin or may not, will charge you for services that they don’t honour. No complaint process.
Onerous contract has to be paid in full when moving home
Onerous contract means you have to pay for the full year contract even when you move house. Your are also charged a fee of £12.00 for collection of the bin. You also have to ring the Green Waste Club to pay the outstanding balance, no other option is available. Waited on hold for twenty minutes before speaking to an agent. Extremely poor customer service.
fraudulent trading behavior
When I moved house they wouldn't let me end the service or move it to the new house, so I had to continue paying for the old house for 6 months. Then I had an email thanking me for renewing the subscription! I didn't have any notification of the renewal or the opportunity to not renew. This is fraudulent trading behavior!
Terrible service
Terrible service. Repeated missed collection and non-existent customer service. Not fit for service and the company seems happy to accept this as the norm and take your money. Disgraceful.

Missed bin and non existent customer support. I reported the missed bin (can prove it was out the evening before) and nothing. Called the helpline and been on a holding queue for over 30 minutes. Appalling.
*UPDATE* did finally get through on the helpline yesterday just before 5pm and a helpful lady, Karen, looked into it. Called me back today to confirm the cameras in the lorry prove the bin was there so they are coming back today to collect. Fingers crossed. I creasing to three stars because of Karen and her following up, but come on GWC, employ more phone line staff, please!
Rude
Missed my collection and claimed the bin wasn't out when I questioned them. Replied asking for a rough timeframe when they came by as I have a doorbell camera so can show it was out and either nobody came or it was marked as not out incorrectly. Was given a rude reply saying they won't tell me the time and won't come back to collect it.
Oh, WHEN will they remove the bin?
After numerous price hikes over the years, I decided to cancel before my contract renewed on 8th March. They were due to collect the bin and I promptly paid the £12 collection fee. Several emails later and no one has collected the bin nor replied. I brought a lot of business to the area as I was the first in my village to have the bin, but they have shown their disrespect for customers, as well as incompetence. This is in Hereford.

Shocking customer service failed to drive in street then lied says bins not out even though have been for 2 days refused come get, driver does not drive in all streets will be cancelling cowboys.
