This side is lead by an unserious group of mods and admins, who just ban and delete anybody that expresses any form of criticism. They act in favor of certain specific persons and exclude others while advertising that they are so tolerant. Mods are absolutely not objective and abuse their abilities to ban people. This side seems to repeat their mistakes and is going downhill again unfortunately.

Horrific website. If one of the admins dislike you for whatever reason then it's bye bye acconut.

CEO behaving unprofessionally, volunteers being overworked, the site directly profiting off from volunteering designers' designs when it hasn't been stated in the contract (using their designs for packs that cost IRL money and the designers don't get anything from the profits)... It was a nostalgic experience to return to this site, but how it's currently being run doesn't work!

Nostalgia ruined by political activists. I enjoy the games and all, but it's impossible to have an opinion of your own due to very far left political activists running the site.

Even those who are center left, centrist or center right will get bashed and called nazis. You have to be full on advocating for all the current things to be accepted. If your views might not follow the current ideologies, you will get warnings. This will even apply to sober discussions.

Because of the political climate on the site, rules are way stricter than they were back on gSm 1.0, even though we back then were children, and we now are adults. People who are seen as 'marginalized' have pretty much free run to do whatever they want on the website; make it doxxing, harassing, threatening to hack someone. All of this is allowed, if you have enough oppression points.

Staff and moderators also seem to have preference for which kind of discrimination and 'hate speech' they deal with. For example, a model quoted a verse from the Quran to prove that it was not an inclusive text, she got a warning. A Muslim user is constantly spreading antisemitism, and staff does nothing, even when I send in countless of reports.

If you're in it for the nostalgia, but not the forums - go for it. But if you're not far left, don't expect to be able to make friends there. In many ways, it is like a cult with struggle sessions and all that belongs. For example, a model was harassed for having her avatar have dark skin, when she in real life is white. She wrote a long apology post, explaining how racist it was, even though it is just a pixel avatar and nothing malicious was behind her using said skin tone.

Jeg elsker GsM, altså, jeg er så glad for at det er tilbake, men måten det blir styrt på er rett og slett ikke riktig. De fleste som bruker nettstedet nå er 20+ men vi blir behandlet som småunger, selv om det er 13 års aldersgrense. Man får advarsler or time-outs for dumme ting som å si et populært utrykk som "touch some grass", man kan ikke kritisere nettsiden uten at forumene blir låst.
De som styrer gsm driver vekk folk som har tilbudt å bruke fritiden sin på å lage kule outfits og arrangere gøye eventer etc fordi de jobber de helt i grunn og så tar de æren.
Det har vært så mye unødvendig drama og jef håper virkelig det blir en forandring snart, for ellers kommer det ikke til å være noen folk igjen på nettsiden til jubileet :/

But with the current issues, does something have to change. I dont think that it's right to profit off someone else's work (Focus group, SMA, JD' etc) in real money while they get "in-game goodies". The goodies are pixels and pretty much amount to nothing.

Do better.

I love this site so much, but there is some major issues with the way management runs the site as well as constant drama which really really brings the experience down

The community is absolutely wonderful, there's little drama, unless you join it, and everyone wants the best for each other.
Unfortunately there's a lot of behind the scenes issues and that all affects the userbase.

PROS
- nostalgic
- always something to do
- fun and original mini-games
- fun community... most of the time
- amazing designers
- great for when u need advice from women
- easy way to make friends

CONS
- the management is horrible. they treat their employees and volunteers badly. the management that are actually hard-working and decent people get forced to leave due to how poorly they get treated

- the mods are extremely strict. people have gotten official warnings for saying that they are scared of men, for speaking in non-english 1 time, etc.

- the employees that love gSm 2.0 get forced out, and we are left with the money-hungry ones. so, don't spend your money

- the community can be really poor. bullying, doxxing, whatever. people have gotten in legit legal trouble over their behaviour on this site

overall, you can most definitely chill on gSm and have fun. but treat it as a light hobby

Disapointed how this site treats the people that work for them.
Also the moderation is bad.
They really just want your money.

I genuinely love this site - the Moderators are great, the userbase is fun, the designs are gorgeous. BUT. This site exploits their volunteers. Several of our so called Juniour Designers have resigned, as well as many Mods and Social Media Ambassadors, and that is because gSm exploits their workers. I would love to stay, but it's hard to support a website like that. I think you can do better.

jeg ser mig selv som en gamer og har spillet så mange forskellige spil men jeg må godt nok sige at det her er det mest toxic comunity jeg nogen sinde har set.
Hold dig langt væk og lad være med at bruge penge her.
i tilfælde af at du joiner så hold dig langt væk fra forums. Du har ingen ret til at have dine egne holdninger og meninger derinde, og alt du siger kan og vil blive brugt imod dig.
De giver warnings ud for det mindste for de twister alt du siger, og i den warning du får truer de med at, your model may be put on timeout or get deleted.
Det er ikke et godt sted at være.
brug dine penge andre steder og lad være med at support dem.

I consider myself a gamer and have played so many different games but I have to say that this is the most toxic community I have ever seen.
Stay far away and don't spend money here.
in case you join stay far away from the forums. You have no right to have your own views and opinions in there and anything you say can and will be used against you.
They give warnings for the smallest things because they twist everything you say, and in the warning you get they threaten that, your model may be put on timeout or get deleted.
It's not a good place to be.
spend your money elsewhere and stop supporting them.
