I spoke to a very nice lady called Lorraine, she made the process simple and so easy. This lady even after I paid for the service was still ready to go above and beyond saying, you have my number and if you have any questions don't hesitate to call me. I now have peace of mind

I took out a no frills basic cremation plan in 2018, paid in full. However October 2025 I was told it wasn't guaranteed to cover the full cost of cremation. But I could take out a new plan, which was cheaper & guaranteed.
They just needed to find a Funeral Director who would accept this. I heard nothing for 4 months. Then I received a letter stating they couldn't find anyone who would accept the plan. I was angry really as " it wasn't my fault, but theirs". I cancelled my plan and was CHARGED A SUBSTANTIAL ADMIN FEE. WHY? I wasn't cancelling for the fun of it, but simply because THEY COULDN'T FULFILL THE GUARANTEED PLAN. I
I strongly urge anyone with a plan, which changed to guaranteed May 2025, check if they're really covered. I feel cheated & it's not fit for purpose ( contrary to the Consumer Act 2015). Seeing TV ADS for this company just add to my anger.
I have found a much better plan with another company. I DON'T SEE WHY I WAS CHARGED DUE TO THEIR INABILITY TO FULFILL THEIR PROMISE.

Set up my Funeral plan and Paul was very helpful and talking to me though every step. He didn't pressure me into getting a funeral plan there and then.

I went in May of 2024 to my local Funeral Directors (I live in Co. Armagh) and chose this Funeral Plan. I am very Happy with this Funeral Plan.

Even though I live in Co. Armagh and HQ is in Glasgow (so the money had to be sent to Glasgow) within about a week of the money being sent to Glasgow I received my "Funeral Plan Documents", which I thought was incredibly prompt.

As I said before, I am very Happy with this Funeral Plan, and I would certainly recommend it to other Family Members.

Good company, application was very smooth. Did it all online and got a £100 M & S voucher to boot. Obviously the proof of the pudding will be in the eating but this company also looked after my late father in law with no problems. So I strongly recommend them.

Spoke to helpful gentleman about current funeral plan (sorry didn't catch name). Wanted to ask about taking out another plan for family member and he arranged for colleague to call me. Lorraine called and everything needed was discussed, price given and agreed upon within a short time. Lorraine was very clear and helpful and plan was put in place. Both staff members were very pleasant and I would recommend Golden Charter to anyone considering a funeral plan.

Adam McMichael rang me today and helped me set up my funeral plan. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He didn’t rush me at all and was very patient. I am very happy with the plan I have selected and with the service I have received.

Just organised a funeral plan for myself following the death of my wife recently. I thought it unfair to load the immediate expense of my funeral onto my family although they will get it back from their inheritance. The arrangements are enough to contend with without the burden of finding a large sum of money within a short space of time to pay the funeral directors

Spoke with Arfan today regarding non-service cremation. He was fantastic to speak to, explained everything and had patience to re-explain anything I was unsure of. As my parents recommended them, myself and my mum have been given a voucher to use in M&S, which was a nice surprise. Arrange made the process very easy and very comfortable to discuss. Just by my experience with Arfan today and the plans Golden Charter offer, I absolutely recommend this company to anyone who wants to start making plans for when the time comes, (and just like hanging out washing) we peg it 😀

I have booked both of my grandparents' funerals through Golden Charter, which was recommended by our funeral director.

We have since had one of their funerals, and everything went very smoothly. It was a relief not deal with funeral costs, while also making funeral plans and addressing their will. When looking at DIY funeral planning and Golden Charter, there is not a huge difference. They also allowed me to select a bespoke coffin and used the price paid for the coffin on the plan towards the chosen coffin costs. This meant a huge deal to us, giving Grandfather a very personal send-off.

I have since booked Grandmother's package. I had a slight issue with no replies to my emails and an ineffective phone line; this does need to be addressed. However, the selection of packages and ease of booking removes so much stress.
Therefore, I highly recommend Golden Charter.
