The order process was great. The communication from the time if order was the best ive ever experienced including a message from the owner. Now, tonight we had the haddock. Being a former Bostonian i was skeptical but the freshness and flavor was OUTSTANDING! This will be my go to store for haddock. Ill be trying the clam chowder soon as well as the lobster. Last few orders were not that good, but this last one... Order placed for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. Long/short, at noon on Christmas Eve, our dinner was sitting at a FedEx locality 14 hours away.
I called FedEx and was told the order was delayed and would be delivered on Friday.
These are LIVE lobsters, they are beyond dead at this point. $200 gone...
Complained, asked for refund, per their guarantee and was told by "Moe" that no refund, but they would issue me a credit.
Forget that, I want my money back !!!!!!!

Order didn’t ship despite have “label created” on tracking link for multiple days. I sent an email asking if shipping would occur that day as the order was being sent to a vacation destination. I explained that if wasn’t going to ship that we would need to cancel.
I got a response saying the order was going out that day but had been pulled at my request. I called and spoke with customer service which is obviously third party and off shore. She literally could not understand what we were talking about. I think it was a lost I. Translation issue.

I received my lobster a week late and it was unthawed.
I ordered 2 packages 2 in each package suppose to weigh 14-16 ounces per lobster one weighed 7.55 oz the other 14.88 oz 7.55 oz the other 14.88 the other package was worse 2nd package weighed 7oz and the other weighed 13 oz. I called and left message and they never returned my call.

Pretty much told me too bad your wrong. There is no number to call to talk to a person you have to email. This was a present for my son who lives out of state by himself. I ordered before buy one get one free. When it was delivered to my son contacted me and told me it was missing a package of lobster meat. He took a picture and sent it to me. I looked for a number.Couldn't find one so emailed a company. She informed me that he would have to weigh up with a picture an send it to them. I informed her he didn't have a scale. She told me without one.She could do nothing for me. She said to me that it was all in one package instead of two lik I had received before. I then told her that it is 1 person.Eating it.
And was way too much for1 person to eat in one sitting if that was the case. She then told me maybe he could unfreeze it Cut it in half couldn't have refreeze it. Telling me he should make sure to get all the air out before we freeze in it. I told her I was not arguing that was unacceptable. She then told me sorry I can't do anything for you. My son said when he unfroze it.It really seemed to be one package not a double.i will never ordered again. Is horrible customer service didn't get what I paid for. Don't like that you can't call.

Ordered lobster tails and filets on 11/12/2024 (before Thanksgiving). You choose a delivery date. Never came on 12/18 for dinner party tomorrow 12/20. NEVER SHIPPED YET! HORRIBLE COMPANY. ORDERS MUST HAVE GONE AHEAD OF ME IN SPITE OF MY EARLY ORDER. I WILL NEVER, EVER EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

Order came on time, as advertised. The rolls were outrageously good- VERY on point and traditional. Lobster was frozen and wonderful- do take the added time to let the lobster meat drain out the excess moisture from the freezing process.

Horrible place do not order from here. Food showed up to my neighbors rotten and they got sick and ours never showed up at all. It’s been a week now and still hasn’t showed up and it was late so don’t order from here the FDA involved as well as Better Business Bureau and other agencies to shut this place down.
Professional Rip Off Company
Again, for $18 per lobster tail, a quarter of the 4-5 ounce tails were soft shell, meaning about 3 3/4 inch long meat the size of your middle finger. Crab cakes about 2" thick, so much breading, with anchovies added. I threw $347.96 away buying from this company!

I will never purchase ever again! I paid $138.00 for 2 small (7 ounce) tails. Not worth it. Buy it local.

Ordered lobster tails for a New Years Eve party and they were delivered to the wrong address!
The company was extremely rude and unwilling to help! I'd encourage other customers to find a better company who values and serves their customers needs, to do business with!!

Never received my order. I tried to contact them by email several times got no response and no one ever answers the phone. I had to dispute my purchase with my bank because they absolutely would not respond to any communication whatsoever.

Stinky mushy Lobster Roll
I grew up in CT so I know what good lobster is supposed to be. The stinky, mushy mess I was left with after thawing out the lobster meat was awful and SO disappointing!
I followed the thaw directions very carefully...
Maybe they send the lobster to some 3rd world country to have it processed/frozen? I don't know. If you're from the midwest and don't know what lobster is supposed to taste like, maybe you would be OK with this. For me? Yeecchh! Pure garbage!
Under weight lobster tails
Received my order for (4) 5-6oz and (4) free lobster tails. After defrosting 2 to cook, they looks small. Weighed them and both were under 5oz. Plus they had a lot of gunk had to clean them out. The taste was bland and NOT sweet at all. Called customer service and this was their response. I sent pictures of the under weight tails on my scale.They want me to cook the remaining 6 tails. I'm one person it will take me a while to try the rest. CS rep also said I could get a coupon or credit or something, I'll never order from them again. So it sounds like I won't be getting I my 175.00 back. They are a bait and switch company. Do not order from them. You've been warned.

An absolutely disgraceful company with horrific customer service. They claim that if you are not satisfied, to contact them. Well, I contacted them to let them know that the lobster they shipped me was spoiled and inedible. They blamed ME for their awful product and told me to pound sand. BUYER BEWARE.

Stay away. Don’t waste your money!! Buy 4 large get 4 free for over $200. 2 of the 8 were large.. one had green gunk through it: 5 were no larger than 4 ounces instead of 6 to 8. Bait and switch. Had to go out and buy for a holiday dinner party. Costco. I should not have had to spend another 200 to stave off embarrassment. Trouble is, I also ordered as a shipped gift. Probably the same nonsense. Sooo embarrassing and not cheap. I was happy customer last year. Never again.

stupidly ordered from here three times, but never again. all lobsters and tails arrived fine and on time, but were much smaller than as advertised. order one, i didn't check weight on the 1.1-1.2lb lobsters, because why would i? they're selling a luxury product at a good, not cheap, price. second shipment i noticed that the most of "5-6 oz." tails i ordered looked more like the 3oz ones i can get at a local grocer OUT HERE IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DESERT CITIES, and on weighing them on two scales were under 5 oz. (smallest was 4.45 oz), and didn't even average above 5 oz. for the 8 of them. thought, "okay... maybe it was a fluke". raised the issue with "customer service" which is actually just Zendesk (read "no customer service at all"), and was told "We apologize for any discrepancies. Please do so in weighing the live lobsters as well as the tails and let us know with a picture if there are any issues and we'll certainly look to help." LOOK TO HELP. that's "customer service". third shipment order placed at the same time as order two for later delivery was 8 more 1.1-1.2 live lobsters which arrived nicely, but only 1 lobster (largest) was 1.15lb and the smallest was just 14 ounces. again, 8 lobsters didn't even average the bottom weight of 1.1. on reading more reviews, it's clear these folks are shorting customers on a daily basis, and want the customer to prove that what they shipped isn't what they ordered, and they KNOW IT TO BE SO. read more reviews to see how consistent they are about shorting their customers. the sheer volume of customers posting here proves it's no fluke. there's good reason getmainelobster.com is rated so badly... wish i'd checked before buying. you should. i'll gladly pay more elsewhere.
