The sales rep cancelled and refunded…

The sales rep cancelled and refunded all of our orders to the customers with out our authorization. We lost hundreds because of her. Stay away from them! Most customers have also complained in the past that we do not deliver to their adress although they are in our zone.

Worst experience for a website I have…

Worst experience for a website I have ever experienced. Menu items kept just disappearing, changes didnt stick. Then to pour a little salt when I finally had enough and canceled my service I was charged for another month at 148.00. There were 2 people that had a clue and cared enough to help over the 18 months I tried to make this work. Now they partnered with Clover. Hopefully Clover soon realizes that was a mistake.

Attempted to use Bento Box to get away…

Attempted to use Bento Box to get away from our current restaurant web company and the demonstrations from the sales group looks phenomenal. Our web's first revision looks like a 5 year old tried to make a website and it will take at least a year to get it to a feasible, legitimate website for the low price of $250/month as they move from the 5 year old to 6 y.o. and into succession.... Great sales, no follow through.

Support

Support - 646 585-5021 goes unanswered -

Our customer tried the website to pay but the system would NOT take his payment.

Tried to call the number above and it keeps ringing -

Tried chat support but the close at 7 PM EST - well on the West Coast we are only 3 pm PST --

Soon will be leaving there platform because support is not there.

Restaurant closed early because air…

Restaurant closed early because air conditioning was out of order. Bentobox told me order was being prepared and an estimated time to pick up order. How could they make those statements if the restaurant was closed and no one was there? I drove to the empty restaurant and they charged me as though everything was ok. How do I get my money back? Their online presence is only to sell their useless product to more restaurants. No way for consumers to make contact. Taking my money without providing the product is my definition of a SCAM.

Unreliable and non existent support

Unreliable and non existent support. We have been using BentoBox for about a year and continue to have the same issues we reported at the beginning. And it has gotten worse- inventory won’t synchronize for this holiday weekend and we had the same issue 2 weeks ago. All we get from the support is to wait another day and see if it is better. We rely on on line orders and have been loosing significant business due to them. We are actively looking to switch to another platform

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Bento Box. During our initial discussions, their sales representative assured us of a substantial credit for our website, which played a crucial role in our decision to choose their services. However, this promise turned out to be completely misleading.

Despite our phone conversation confirming that the last day for the website credit was July 19, we have not received the promised credit. It seems that this kind of over-promising, especially with their so-called "Bento Box" promises, is a common practice for them.

Such dishonesty and lack of transparency are unacceptable. This experience has severely damaged our trust in [Company Name]. I strongly urge potential customers to be cautious and verify any promises made by their sales representatives.

bad website development and care

I used bento box for 4 years and it was the worst website company ever. Literally such a hassle for every little thing. Didn’t help to make the website better once. I switched to a new company and they are doing so much to help and make my website great. Don’t get fooled because of not knowing much like I did. Bento box is a buyer beware website.

We have been using BB for a while and…

We have been using BB for a while and we found out about Vnu Mngr software,
Its way better, much easier and actually increased our bookings tremendously, they even have a phone application for everything, such a relief.

They have friendly staff

They have friendly staff. My biggest issue is the work. I paid a lot of money for them to build me a website. They built a website with a catering store because they felt this would be best for my specific needs. I didn't understand this since I am an online Grocery store, they gave me a catering menu that a restaurant would use. I informed them I did not like the template they used because it did not really work for me. The staff was unable to make any real changes. So after paying all this money I have to use a website and hopes it works. The template they used asked for a delivery address and I do not make deliveries. The only thing they were able to do was add a note stating that there are no deliveries. HOW CONFUSING IS THAT. The design of the website is simple (which is what I needed) but it's so simple I could have done it myself instead of paying the prices I currently pay monthly. I have another business which I created the website myself and I believe it looks more professional than the one Bento Box built. They also have no application you can use, no way of exporting item list, basic functions that should be available are not. I currently still have BentoBox since this is a new business and funds are low, but once I am able to have my website recreated with a different company I will if nothing changes.

Theft of Funds. Taking money from you and knowing the store is closed.

I placed an order online with bento box at 7:30 pm. I received confirmation that my order will be ready for pick up at 7:54. I received another text that my order is ready to be picked up. I get to the store, and the store is closed indefinitely. I called customer service and they said they couldn’t refund my money and that I had to wait until the store opened back up to deal with them. This is horrible customer service and theft of funds. They should be sued immediately for taking people’s money and refusing to have any accountability in their errors! DO NOT USE their service

They let you order from closed restaurants, and your first clue is a 3 hour pickup on a 30-40 minute order

I ordered via bentobox with availability for a pickup order within 30-40 minutes. Then the email showed up and said the food would be ready in three and a half HOURS. There's no way to cancel the order. The restaurant won't pickup the phone.

So we drive there, hoping we can show the receipt and even if we have to wait, we can still get food, but the place is closed, during their marked business hours. They charged my card immediately, but there's no food. Long story short, double check the place you're ordering from is actually open before clicking that button.

Bentobox hosted Web site does not display restaurant menu pictures properly on smartphone screens

For the most part the company has been good and they work hard to add value, but at over $3000 a year, you would expect the restaurant menu item pictures show up correctly on cell phones, which is the device the majority of people use to order takeout. While my menu items photos display correctly on a PC, they display a tiny band on a phone screen, basically not showing what the food looks like at all. I was wondering why my bentobox sales are so dismal. Now I now. Customers can't see the pictures on their phones. I have reached out to support, which says they have their limitation on the template used for displaying web sites. I reached out to Bentobox Cofounder who said would look into it, but never responded back. The reason for my poor rating for the company is if a web site that is supposed to display a restaurant menu properly with the photos, cannot do that, then it is not useful. If my customers can't tell what a dish would look like on their cell phones, then the menu might as well not have any pictures at all, and no matter how much marketing effort Bentobox puts into value-added other stuff, the main premise is broken and as a result Bentobox has failed me.

We've been so thankful for the ease of…

We've been so thankful for the ease of support and speed in which questions are answered and BentoBox provides help, not just canned responses. We use BentoBox for our small business catering company and constantly share with other local companies how easy it is to begin using BentoBox and maintain a website while providing an extensive list of site options for customers to view when navigating the site.

We sincerely appreciate how awesome the BentoBox team is and are thankful for the product they offer.

Massive Security Risk

I used BentoBox’s Google integration to purchase a meal from a local restaurant. Somehow, a completely random person was able to call and cancel my order in the 10 minutes between order and arrival at the restaurant.

Bentobox is unable to explain how this unknown person was able to get my information, call, and cancel my order.

I fear my card data is now stolen. Do not use this service.

I spoke to customer service on the phone right after the event and they stated they could not help or even call me back with an update.

They also stated it wasn’t a security concern, refused to escalate to a manager, and ensured me it is simply an “engineering issue.”

Cannot use emailed promo code

Attempted to use an email promo code when ordering online that was sent to me by Bento through the restaurant's website. First the application indicated that the promo code was OK but wanted me to enter a 'valid email address' which I did. The app responded by saying that the address was invalid and removed the promo code from the order. I used Firefox as my browser and have found that it doesn't always work well with a few applications. Perhaps this is the cause of the error? Nothing I tried would allow me to use the promo code. The restaurant refused to manually take the $6 off my order stating that I had to complain to bentobox.com. The offer expires on 11/26 and I don't plan on ordering from that vendor before that date. Am I out the $6? The restaurant was the Los Tres Amigos location in Mason, Michigan.

Great for restaurants!

After searching for the right fit for my brand and where I’m trying to take my business Bentobox offers that and more! Literally everything is under one umbrella from my catering, to online ordering to basically everything I offer regarding my business!
