ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I don't waste time writing reviews, but I am so pissed and disappointed about all of our interactions and experiences with Bodewell Appliance Care that I felt compelled to get it out into the universe. The matching cabinet panel fell off of our Monogram dishwasher and we were unable to get it back on because the flimsy, cheap metal used on the dishwasher door was completely bent and mangled. We called the supplier who submitted the service request to GE who sent out their contracted "service experts" at Bodewell. At the initial appointment to fix the dishwasher door, THE TECHNICIANS BROKE THE CIRCUIT BOARD and had to order a replacement wiring harness to make it work again. Dishwasher was out of commission for a week until the new harness came in and the technician was able to replace it. Upon getting the dishwasher to work again, the technicians completely forgot about the INITITAL ISSUE and the door/cabinet panel was never addressed. I had to call and schedule another appointment for a technician to come out and inspect the door, SINCE THERE WAS NO RECORD OF THE INTITAL ISSUE. Technician came by and just said we needed to order a new door. Fine. Door, gets ordered, technician shows up, replaces the door, puts the panel back on, tells us not to pull the handle too hard or the panel will fall off again, door slams open THE SAME DAY because the tension was not set correctly for the extra weight, and THE PANEL FALLS OFF AGAIN. Call immediately and they say another technician will come out in 5 days, but we will be their first stop. Fine, whatever. Appointment day (widow 8am-12pm), no one shows. 11:30am I call and they say the technician will call me with an ETA. 12:15pm no call no show, I call again and they say I am not on the schedule and there is NO RECORD OF EITHER OF MY LAST TWO CONVERSATIONS. Offer me another appointment the next day 12-5pm. I decline because I am not waiting around for another 5 hours, and I ask to be escalated to get an exact appointment time. Support team says there is no way to do that, EVEN FOR A CUSTOMER WHO HAS BEEN SCREWED OVER AND OVER AGAIN BY THEIR COMPANY. The only thing they can do is request that we are the first stop on the day of the appointment. I understand that mistakes happen, but our experiences with this company HAVE ALL BEEN DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING, and the worst part is that we can not ask for or receive any compensation because this is all being done under warranty! What an awful business

Would give 0 star if I could. Don’t let their service installers “quick contractors” into your home. Installer caused flooding in my basement. The installer didn’t even care, while I ran around with bowels and towels trying to save my basement ceiling. He was rude and aggressive at the end when I refused to sign the form that says I was fully satisfied with the service. I can’t believe he even had the gaul to tell me to sign it. Now a week after the set screws are falling out on the floor. Nope, do yourself a favour. Hire someone else.
1990s Logistics in 2026: GE’s "Three-Call" Penalty for a Simple Refund
GE Appliances may sell "Smart" technology, but their backend systems are shockingly primitive and anti-consumer. After canceling an order ("smart" order for refrigerator filters) three days before it shipped, I was told their system is "unable" to stop the shipment or even generate a return label today.
Instead of a one-call resolution, GE is forcing me into a "Three-Call Penalty":
1. Call 1 & 2: Trying to cancel an order that hadn't even left the warehouse.
2. The Forced Purchase: Being forced to pay for a product I don't want, wait for it to arrive, and store it in my home.
3. Call 3: I must call again once it arrives just to "request" a label that they could easily email me right now.
This is a deliberate friction tactic designed to make the return process so exhausting that customers might give up. If you value your time and expect modern, integrated customer service, buy from a company that actually uses 21st-century logistics. GE Appliances’ refusal to provide a label immediately is a massive waste of my time.
GE Washer - They dont stand behind their products
We purchased a high end GE washer 2 years and 3 months ago. It just failed. The initial repair estimate was $500, and that wasn't even a guarantee that the washer would be fixed, this was just to replace the main board that was blown. When I contacted GE, they said that they would not cover the main board as it was not covered under their 10 year limited warranty. This essentially makes the "warranty" worthless. I strongly suggest not purchasing a GE washer unless you opt for an extended warranty (at which point you may as well go with another brand that will stand behind it's products, or don't have premature failures).
GE Gas Cooktop with Poor quality and worst experience with support
I have a GE Profile™ 30" Built-In Gas Cooktop with 5 Burners (PGP7030SLSS) that in a few months all the labels were gone even when using the recommended cleaning product (Cerama Bryte). Labels are gone completely clean with no trace how to move the knobs, where to ignite, which burner corresponds to what. At home it has become a safety concern and the support service has dismissed it as a cosmetic issue with no solution. The recommendation from the agent was to use an image from internet or print the picture for me to use as a guide. It's insulting! No resolution and poor quality product with a risk for safety issue. Poor quality, awful experience with customer support and not worth your money.
I purchased a GE washer and dryer just…
I purchased a GE washer and dryer just over two years ago. My washer just stopped draining. Had the service guy out and he tells me i need a new control board. This pair cost me over $2500 and after just two years its broken. Needless to say i won't be purchasing anymore GE products.
I order a washing machine.It was set…
I order a washing machine. It was set for delivery on March 28th which is today. I didn't receive any texts or calls yet so I decided to call ge. Not only was I told that the order was on back order until May 4th, I was told that, it was my responsibility to call and ask. Just to be clear I set a delivery date of March 28 through the ge website when I purchase the washer, have an email confirming the order and delivery date and apparently it is my fault that I'm not aware it wasn't going to be delivered today. I canceled my order and will never order a ge product again. In fact it is the 3rd thing I bought off your website over the last 6 months and I'm getting rid of all of them and going to a different brand in my house
Microwave from GE Profile stopped work…
Microwave from GE Profile stopped work twice had it repaired once second time decided to replace after only 5 years. First unit came damaged so much so that the right panel with all the controls was detached from being hit hard. Had to take it to rebox it and drive to fedex ordered a second one it also came damaged from being hit what looks like from a fork lift. Was again told ship it back. Asked to speak with manager was told no one could but if I want someone from custom service could call in a few days. Email was sent with another fedex return label but was told I should buy from local retailer instead of thru GE. How ridiculous is that
Wish I would have seen these reviews…

First load and ended up with wet clothes and couldnt get the door open. then it said load finished. trying to get my money back. never again. 77 days without a washer/dryer!!!
Worst Appliance I've Ever Owned
I have a GE fridge. Six years old. It's a bottom freezer. Constantly leaking, which causes water to pool in the bottom and freeze, preventing the door from closing. Nothing works. There is a metal thing that becomes unhooked all the time, which causes the ice maker to go nonstop. You open the door and ice spills out all over the floor. We have tried every solution we have found on line.
We at GE dont care either
This is the email I sent Home Depot Executives after we bought a defective GE dishwasher, that leaked after professional installation.
1 am in receipt of your email, however, the lack of response on Home Depot's part is nothing short of unacceptable. I have to file a complaint with the BBB because nobody from Home Depot will return my phone calls or messages. Do you understand that we have tried since 3/9/26, 2 days after we installed the dishwasher, that came with no warranty information or manual. Not to mention, it was defective and the y portion leaked damaging our cabinet. I messaged Home Depot extensively explaining the problem, where | was told in the chat that I would receive a manual, and the warranty, as well as someone coming out to inspect the dishwasher. I had to schedule this, only to receive a phone call where they said, we aren't showing up, gave no name. Do you understand how unacceptable this is? When is it acceptable to blow off customers who spend alot of money on a dishwasher bought from your company that is defective, and then you receive excuse after excuse? | call the Home Depot back at the number left, and speak to Dawn who tells me, there are no notes of issues, which is completely false, because I have screen shots of the hour long conversation. Your company is unhelpful, there is a huge lack of customer service, and accountability for anything. I waited a month for this dishwasher, only to have multiple professionals, buy parts, make adjustments, buy more parts and it not work. We had to have a specialized plumber make a part because the part and machine were defective. It flooded constantly, damaging cabinets. The Home Depot executive Angel said contact GE. We bought it from you, and we were told to contact you. We did not get one ounce of understanding or resolution. You did not include a manual, or warranty information, and your product was crap! We had to fix it ourselves by spending more money, Dont buy the 2 Drawer cafe Dishwasher, its defective, it leaks, and they really dont care what happens. Shame on GE, shame on Home Depot!
(coffee espresso machine) I would think…
(coffee espresso machine) I would think twice before dealing with the company. I purchased a $500 machine that broke twice within 14 months. They agreed to do right and send a third but then backtracked saying it was out of warranty (which was perfectly true from the original date after sending me a second one that broke) but the problem was 2 high-end coffee machines not lasting past 6 months. The trouble shooting was terrible, and customer service was nowhere to be found. Tried to throw the problems on me by not purchasing extended warranties rather than trying to help
Do NOT buy their laundry machines.
Do NOT buy their laundry machines.
Dryer broke after 1 year and the washer has never worked properly.
We had it repaired multiple times and it still breaks. We went online and found tons of complaints on FB and Reddit saying the same thing.
Customer service is terrible- they make it impossible to talk to anyone and they will not compensate you for selling you a faulty product. We were sold a faulty product and GE has 0 remorse or responsibility to make it right by us or any of the other customers who have the same issue with the machines!
We will never buy anything GE again.
Not acceptable
It is my responsibility to myself and others who are thinking of buying a GE appliance, especially a 2-in-1 washer/ Dryer combo.
"GE 24" Front Load Washer/Condenser Dryer Combo White - GFQ14ESSNWW"
We called for a service repair to the unit, which was under warranty in December, 2025. The service technicians had never worked on this type of appliance and had no idea but to call the GE tech line for support. While they did the best they could, they also reported that the machine was working properly, but the problem still exists that they did not know how to fix the problem. The GE Relations Manager said they are not covering the warranty work and telling us our warranty is now up and basically out of luck.
Driving to and from the laundry mat, 25 mins each way plus time attending to laundry and money spent, is adding up over the 2 months now going into 3 months.
Washer lasted 4 months
We had this washing machine for 4 months before it exploded! There was water dripping from the ceiling, the washer was in the middle of our laundry room. This was on October 26, 2025. Today is February 25,2026. We are still fighting with GE to replace the washing machine. They sent out a technician that said it couldn’t be repaired. GE sent a replacement washer, this washer was all dented up and had paint chips in it. Why would I accept a replacement washer that was already damaged? I purchased the original washer in June of 2025, used it for 4 months, and now do not have a washer, and have been without one for 4 months. Someone at GE needs to make this make sense! Do better GE customer support!
We bought a GE CAFE dishwasher in 2021
We bought a GE CAFE dishwasher in 2021, my extended service warranty is good until February 2027. Fast forward 3 repair visits(took forever to get), my dishwasher started out with the top spray arm falling off. That was “fixed with super glue and a magnet. “ then repairs no 2 & 3, wound up being the dishes not getting cleaned at all. The. Heating element and some support clips were replaced . The technician repeatedly insulted us by saying “we told him that the dishes weren’t “getting dried”. No, I said they weren’t getting cleaned. We can’t get a return call back. I am done with GE for good, we paid way too much money for this dishwasher. Shame on you GE.
Chat Bot tried to rip me off.
I used the Chat bot who took all of my info regarding the issues with my dishwasher. At the end of the chat and transferring to an online tech, the Bot told me that I needed to pay a refundable $5 in order to speak with the technition. A payment screen popped up requesting my credit card info. I looked closer at the small print only to find that I would be charged $75 for the chat with the tech and $75 monthly thereafter until I cancel. What a scam! Bait & switch at it's best. Needless to say, I closed the screen without providing my info.
GE uses RFID (Radio-Frequency…
GE uses RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) digital rights management on their water filter to force you to buy their $55 replacement. Their fridge still doesn’t recognize it (GE Cafe refrigerator). Every single time I replace the filter, the touchscreen throws a “Replace Water Filter” error. There is no manual reset.
Last time this happened I had to schedule a service call and wait 30 days. A full month without water or ice from a $4,000 refrigerator — because the fridge couldn’t read its own filter. One of the suggested “troubleshooting” steps is to unplug your fridge and power cycle it. So now you’re dragging a 300-pound appliance away from the wall, scraping up your hardwood floors, to reboot your refrigerator like a frozen Windows PC. For a water filter.
This is an inexcusable design choice for a premium appliance line. The Café brand is supposed to represent the best GE has to offer, and they chose to add an electronic lock to a water filter that regularly fails to work with their own product. This is the same company that recalled 1.3 million dishwashers for catching fire and had to recall their Profile washers for components burning and baskets flying apart mid-cycle. Ironically, I’d have been better off if GE just charged me a monthly water subscription fee — at least then the water would actually come out of the fridge.
Beautiful appliance that will hold your water hostage every six months. Buy literally any other brand. RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT FOR A WATER FILTER that adds a failure point that disables your entire water system.
THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS STOVE I EVER HAD
We were in a financial crunch when our stove gave up so we were looking for something we could afford at the time. We went to all the big box stores. None had a stove in stock so we ordered what we could afford at Home Depot with a week before delivery. We chose an electric GE which has been pretty big disappointment. The digital stuff on it is so-o-o annoying. I had to call "customer service" to find out how to change the temperature! Ridiculous. "Customer Service" is a joke.
The burners aren't flat. We went online and found a video on how to fix them, sort of. They are still wobbly but I have managed to work around them. Ridiculous, again. I will, definitely, be getting rid of this as soon as possible. I won't even look at GE.
Poor quality and painful service experience
New dishwasher. Found out that it was manufactured with a defective heating element. Took three tries and a great deal of my time wasted to figure this out. Actually GE knew it but just didn't bother to tell the local repair guy. Biggest frustration is time wasted and running into a brick wall or perhaps circular logic in trying to talk to anyone that can actually resolve the poor service issue. Apparently the GE supervisors live in isolation where you can't get a name, phone number or email. Told they will call me back in four days. On e again I am asked to wait on them and try to be available at an unspecified time for a random phone call. GE...never again!!!!
