Awful Experience
I would give zero stars if possible. Avoid at all costs. Go to Gamer-Corps, Omnihedral, and Curio Cavern instead. Jeff, Director of Retail Operations, is a very rude man who doesn't give a *#$@ about customers.
I showed up on 02/14 ,and the DRO told me no open gaming with a look of contempt while an employee was in the process of giving me an entry band. I got a very hostile lecture from this nasty guy that I should look at the online event calendar. IT SHOWS OPEN GAMING FOR 02/14! Furthermore, I was aware of an 02/14 event and had called the store to verify if there was open gaming the day before, The store manager told me there was open gaming. When I mentioned this, I was told, "NO employee told you that."
I don't like his implication that I am a liar, so I then named the nearby manager who had told me it was fine. The DRO then calls over this previously nonexistent store manager and gives BOTH of us a hard time, Next, the DRO brusquely tells me, "No open gaming!!!!" No apology to me nor any attempt to make things right. I tell this jerk, " I have been coming here for two years and dropping $30 - 150 a month here and that is over." The DRO jerk just shrugs. As I reached the exit, I thanked the store manager for being man enough to admit an error and apologize unlike his awful DRO boss. I sincerely hope this petty boss did not berate or punish the manager after I left.
I will never return and my wargame group has already relocated to Gamer-Corps, Omnihedral, and Curio Cavern which are all in the area, do not give us crap, and do not charge us $10 to game. As a bonus, the bosses at those stores are nice, polite, and accommodating. They even greet me when they see me and bother to know my name. In fact, if someone there says I have a table the day before, there has always been a table even if it has been squeezing us in.
You can bet you will see a generic reaction post from G&S of "We're sorry your last visit was not a good experience blah blah blah..." You can bet it will be hollow and empty words.
