Loan offers are based on an assessment of several factors, which can sometimes result in an approved amount that’s lower than what was initially applied for.

Regarding the advice to cancel and reapply for 3k, I understand your concern there isn’t a guarantee that a different amount would be approved, as each application is reassessed based on the same criteria.
