I needed a gallary collection moved securely between properties. Forge treated the transit with absolute reverence. Double walled crates, climate considerations and incredibly gentle hadling.

Relocated from Manchester to a rural property in the dordogne. Customs documentation was completely lodged ahead of time with HMRC, so border clearance was swift. The crew was professional from start to finish.

I would strongly recommend staying well clear of Jack Removals/Forge Removals and do not be reeled in by the patter from their sales team (I clearly was). Like most negative reviews on here I wish you could award zero stars or even negative stars, this is all they are worth!
I will keep the below as concise as possible, but I desperately want to expose and demonstrate how horrendous Jack Removals are.
Pre-collection day - This was scheduled for 30 Apr 26, but I was called and requested if it could be moved forward to 29 Apr. I was overseas in the new property, and my wife was still in full time employment, but we flexed and accommodated Davey's request but insisted it must be after 2pm as my wife would be at work.
Collection Day - Despite my communication informing of my wife's contact details and the fact that she would not be at the property till after 2pm the collection driver was calling me at 9am in Portugal stating that they were there and ready to collect.
Weight/Size – I meticulously measured every box/package/item to ensure I had gotten my cubic meterage correct. I was contacted to say that I had 8 cubic meters over and more concerning 1199kg overweight!! When challenged I was sent WhatsApp videos in extremely poor detail of my consignments on weighing scales, I could see that some of the possessions on view were mine but the remainder of the loads were encased within in a large wooden crate or black plastic! I was then asked to pay an additional £2,637 with the statement ‘To ensure your delivery proceeds on the scheduled date we kindly request that the additional payment be made’. In other words, pay up otherwise this consignment is not moving. To avoid delays I decided to make the payment and challenge later.

If only this was true:
 1st May - Was informed that the van would leave that weekend and would take 3 days max
 5th May - Despite numerous attempts to contact Jack Removals for an update I was informed that my shipment would leave today.
 6th May – Requested tracking
 7th May – Requested tracking,did not receive but I was informed it was on a lorry going through France and will be cross loaded onto a van and that it would be 3 days max for delivery.
 8th May – Requested tracking and was informed that they were waiting for the vans to load at France Hub (another cross load!! And still no tracker)
 9th and 10th May - No update or tracker provided (3 days max has now passed)!!
 11th May - Yet again I requested tracking link to be told 'Has no one from the Team been in touch with you",
 12th May - Contacted and informed me that they were waiting on the van being loaded (yet another cross loading) and the tracking link would be sent to me as soon as it leaves
 13th May - Finally got tracking and could see the van moving
 14th May - Finally the van arrived and suspiciously looked to be a 20 cubic meter size, so how did you get 28 cubic meters and weight into this van??
o Unloading/Damage – After unloading, we noted that the large specialist furniture had been damaged. Upon contact with Jack Removals, I was informed that I had 48 hours to submit the claim (their website states 7 days). Nonetheless I proceeded to take photographs and document the damage for submission. The claim was submitted on 15 Apr, and I still have no outcome, the latest I was told on 26 Jun 26’ I have discussed with our manager and our insurance company needs around 2 more weeks to investigate everything, to be sure that we provide the right outcome’
o Complaint – I subsequently lodged a formal complaint with Jack Removals on 01 Jul 26, following their complaints procedure I expected an acknowledgement of complaint receipt within 48 hours as per their website. Despite numerous emails and WhatsApp messages to date I have still not received any acknowledgement.

I have no confidence or trust in Jack Removals and I would 100% advise anyone to read the 1-star reviews and you will see a clear pattern of incompetence, poor communication, change of weight pricing, damage, misleading, prevaricating and more importantly Jack Removals ignoring you once you raise a complaint. I will be contacting the Ombudsman and any Consumer Rights authorities as this company clearly needs to be investigated.

Be aware that they are scammers and have completely ignored all my correspondence since complaint was lodged

I respected that they flatly refuse to rush quotes over the phone or stack items drangoursly. They are honest about the routes they run regularly. Truly considered work from an elite team.

Every step of their 6 stage process was followed properly. The pre move written brief was clear, the loading was clear, the loading was calculated by weight distribution, and they even cleared away all the packing materials at the end.

Used their man and van service for a flat move across London. Two guyz, 3 hours, zero stress. They seem reassembled my IKEA wardrobe! Well use again.

Do not use Jack Removals/Forge removals for international removals please... Be warned

This review saddens me to write; we used Jack removals to move from Wales to Portugal last June. Where to begin....
Firstly, we did numerous video calls to get an accurate quote with Davey. The drivers who had little English just kept loading the vans in Wales, we kept asking about the weight but the drivers just kept loading, (even stuff that wasn't meant to come over), Our furniture was then held to ransom at the border as the vans were overweight. (as we suspected).
We found out that they run the vans overweight and if they get stopped when at the border, they unload into a local van move it over the border and then put it back into the original van! I quote from their transport manager "it is cheaper this way, to run 1 vehicle and just split the load to get over border control" yet we still had to pay extra to get our furniture....
We did receive one weighbridge ticket but nothing for the other vans but had to pay for overweight for all 5 vans.
The furniture was then damaged in this transfer, as when they loaded at the house in Wales furniture was covered but once it arrived in Portugal it was not. (We have pictures).
When the one driver arrived here at Portugal, he damaged the gate way trying to reverse the van, I had to turn the van round for him.
We were told they had insurance and they would put in a claim in for the furniture and the damaged gateway this was a year ago and now they don't answer my calls or emails.
We were dealing with Davey and initially he was great! However, he told us he was leaving the company for how they conducted business, however I have since seen reviews where Davey is mentioned So I feel this may have been a lie too.
I had an email from them asking me to take down a bad review which they stated as unfair, however the review was not from me, and the only reason this review is being written now is they will not reply to my emails, I see they reply to reviews so hoping they will get in touch before I CCJ them.

Your reply Jacks removals sadly is all just words for the sake of Trustpilot! As we have been in contact (since this review was originally posted) re -court proceedings, we had no response and which you still ignored. The email I received today says you are still investigating 1 year later.

This company was formerly Jack Removals, but with a change of name in July 2026. An absolutely terrible company that held my goods for over 25 days claiming they were waiting for documents from customs. yet I had never signed any of the documents necessary for legal transit to the destination country. Eventually I had to pay another company to collect my goods and finish the job.
They had me agree under duress to write a letter to 'cancel' so that would waive 100% of my fees otherwise they would not disclose the address where my goods were located, despite already missing their estimated window of delivery by 14 days and not once providing a shipping date.
Ignore the 5 star reviews and sympathetic responses that might be posted for 'damage limitation' on here, during the actual process, it was a very different matter. They appear to share their warehouse with an engine refurbishing company so if you want your precious goods stored there, well, good luck. If this one star review saves just one person from the godawful experience we had, then it will be worth sharing.
I used another company in the end, and they were actually cheaper yet provided a professional service from the first contact and delivered within 10 days of collection, so I wish I had gone with them in the first place.

ROGUE COMPANY

This company Forge Removals is a rename of Jack International Removals Ltd, who relocated our life belongings from the uk to Spain. We had damages and missing items and had to pay additional fees. Have been trying to claim since May 2026 and am being constantly ghosted and on checking they have now renamed and dissolved in July 26. Do not believe these reviews with 5 stars as all in this recent month, which seems odd if been going since Jan 25 on company house. DONT TOUCH THEM
