Plus, time spent foraging is great for your mental and physical health... and it’s good fun too! Our mission is to reconnect people with nature through what they eat, whether that is treating themselves to one of our small-batch products, enjoying a meal made from freshly-picked, wild produce or getting out there themselves on one of our foraging workshops. Our motto: 'Always Wild, Always Sustainable, Always Delicious' is something we stand by and we want foraging to be recognised as a better way of sourcing our food.

My 2nd taster session with Forage Box
My 2nd taster session with Forage Box. Excellent again. Beautiful walk at Frodsham Hill Woods with Rachel leading the session. Friendly, knowledgeable & safe. So much information given on plants you walk past every day without noticing. Fabulous day out. Thankyou Rachel & Jim. 5* recommendation!
Jim is a wizard of wild food
I joined Jim and six other forages at Barrow Bridge in Bolton. Words cannot describe how rewarding and enjoyable this was. Jim brought the world of foraging and wild food to life. We were eating things within 30 seconds of leaving the car park. Best money I ever spent even ignoring the free food we found.
Informative, Fun and a new way to experience the countryside.
Absolutely brilliant day and experience. Jim was very engaging with great knowledge and superb food. We loved experiencing new flavours and gaining knowledge of local plant species. Can't wait for his nettle and fermenting courses when he starts them up again.
What a brilliant experience!!
I LOVED every minute of this!!! It was SO interesting & who knew how incredible the plants are that we walk past every day? Emily’s knowledge was extraordinary & she was so personable and clearly loves what she does. I cannot wait to try out my new found knowledge!!
Thank you so much Emily, we will be back!
A memorable afternoon about with forage and nibble
We did the forage and nibble event in Sheffield only 15 minutes from where we live. How had I never seen these woods before? Our leader Joel was brilliant. He is so knowledgable and with enough science information for us to be reassured that we would be safe, but we weren’t overwhelmed by the science. The walk lasted three hours but the time went so quickly and we learned so much. This was an amazing experience and I can’t recommend it highly enough The snacks at the end were the icing on the cake - or the herb butter on the bread. Thanks
Beginner friendly fun and delicious!
Mike led our April tour for beginner foragers and showed us all about how to identify carrot family plants and common wild foods in spring in Stanmer Forest. Not only that but he gave us great examples of foods to cook. I’m not normally a big nature girly but I LOVED this! 100% worth the price, would recommend.
Highly recommend
Lovely afternoon foraging with Joel who was entertaining and knowledgeable. The food he had made was also absolutely delicious!
The forage and feast session!
The forage and feast session was absolutely OUTSTANDING. Jim is knowledgeable and engaging. We learnt lots and had delicious food! Already looking for our next course with you!! Thank you!!
Great Saturday morning forage with Grace in Oxford
Great Saturday morning forage in Oxford.
Grace, our tutor, was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Our walk around Boars Hill enabled us to learn about edible foods for free - and I tasted gorse flowers for the first time and realised that they do have a scent and taste of coconut!
This was a very good experience - and we look forward to autumn forage trips and also coastal foraging tutorials.

Clem was a great guide.
We did the foraging workshop in Dow Lane Park, Bury. Clem was a great guide, enthusiastic and entertaining with lots of knowledge of foraging. Although it was early March and not much was out he managed to make it all very interesting. Our first introduction to the promiscuity of brambles! I particularly enjoyed finding the scarlet elfcup fungus. Tasting the toasted hazel catkins and Clem’s wild pesto was another highlight. The weather helped, too. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed it as much in pouring rain!
Fantastic forage with Joel
Fantastic visit to Abbey Park, Leicester with the extremely knowledgeable Joel! Even on a very chilly February day, Joel found all sorts of goodies to forage and was a fountain of knowledge on what we found as well as related species. Also really enjoyed the snacks Joel brought along. Suggest attendees take a hot drink along on a cold day as lots of standing still. Thank you Joel, my daughter (age 12) and I really enjoyed your session. Looking forward to doing more at different times of the year and seeing what we can find!
Had my very first introduction to…
Had my very first introduction to foraging with Eddie. It was freezing but so interesting and enjoyable. I learnt ALOT and will be paying more attention to what I’m walking past in the future. Hoping to attend another one in June.
THANKS 🙏🏻
Great experience
Eddie was a humorous and knowledgeable guide. Would definitely recommend! Would suggest the summer time though, when there are more plants to see.
I attended a foraging session with Joel…
I attended a foraging session with Joel in Leicestershire, and I found him to be very knowledgeable, informative, and happy to answer different questions. It was a relaxed environment, and I would certainly recommend Forage Box to anyone just starting out with foraging :)
Great session even on a cold late winter day
Had a taster session in Ramsgate with Edi. May have been cold and the selection and variety slim but he made a great session out of it. Very clear and informative, and not overly formal or uncomfortable. Would absolutely recommend, and even at this time of year there's still lots to spot and learn!
BEST foragaing hen do!
We had the BEST time foragaing for a hen do in January. Of course we had a few concerns that we wouldn't be able to find anyone to do a private course near where our hen do house was OR we wouldn't be able to find anything to forage but I couldn't have been more wrong. Forage Box came to the rescue. They had great communication over email and gave all the options we needed. They paired us with George Fred who found a common 10 minutes away from our accommodation which he had done a quick tour of before the class started so we could go to all the best spots - 6 mushrooms and plenty of other interesting finds (sorrell, oak gall, ewe trees etc). He was so knowledgeable and totally got the vibe of the hen do. The price was very reasonable £35 pp for 15 hens paid in advance and when more hens arrived on the day (prearranged in advance) we paid £30 pp after. An amazing event and something totally different. Huge thumbs up from all of us even if it was a little chilly on the day - time to warm up in the hot tub with some prosecco! Big thanks to Jim who arranged everything and it was so professional. Have already recommended multiple times since and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Amazing Customer Service
Due to my screen freezing during my voucher purchase I ended up buying two vouchers by accident. I immediately sent an email to the company explaining my predicament. By the next day my second voucher had been reimbursed. I was super impressed at their efficiency. I bought the foraging experience for my friend but I’ll probably join her. Sounds fun.
A wealth of information about just some of our flora and fungi in just two hours
I'm delighted at all the facts we learnt about nettles, fungi, red berries and apples (plus lots more) that our informative and very personable guide Joel gave us on our two hour walkaround at Rother Valley Park, near Sheffield.
I could have listened to Joel for hours. I most certainly will be going on another guided Foraging session with Forage Box soon. Thank you.
Fantastic friendly forgaging
Really enjoys getting out on an autumn day and learning more about foraging. Jim was super passionate and clearly knows his stuff. I love that he brought little samples of cooked up forgaed things to taste and it was good that he also talked about the ethics and legalities of foraging. There is nothing more I would have wanted from the session - looking forward to going again in a different season. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful Foraging Taster Walk…
We had a wonderful Foraging Taster Walk with Joel through Graves Park in Sheffield. It’s amazing what you discover when you’re with someone who really knows their stuff. Joel was really engaging and hugely knowledgeable. He also engaged really well with the kids on the walk who were totally impressed! Highly recommend a trip with Joel!
