I had Colin Brealey help me in my court hearing regarding my children, he was wonderful. I was so nervous but he made me feel really at ease. I recommended him to a friend going through the same situation.

After receiving court papers, panicking & a frantic google search, I found Family Law Decisions.

I was sceptical at first but I decided to pick up the phone and speak with them. They advised me that they could help with all my concerns relating to a child arrangement order and scheduled a consultation with Sianna the next day. They were upfront with the costs (which are a fraction of some of the quotes I had from local law firms I must add!)
I was given a full consultation, not rushed, was able to explain fully my situation and what I needed help with.
Priyanka drafted my report and felt so relieved and supported already. The communication between the team is excellent.

Initially I had intended to go to court alone, but I realised that they offer McKenzie friend service.
It made perfect sense to use FLD to attend with me.
Ali Mohammed was assigned my case, we spoke on the phone a few times before my court date and all my concerns, worries and fears were addressed and I felt very confident attending court with Ali.
His knowledge and caring nature made what was a very overwhelming and confusing time for me, and more structured and relaxed process.

I couldn't recommend Family Law Decisions enough! Lisa has been great in preparation of my paperwork to the point where the judge thought I was being represented by Solicitors. Siaana stayed with me through the trial and she gave me my answers before the judge even finished asking me a question. I was so scared of the process, but they took all my worry away. Siaana was so incredibly empathetic and helpful in every way. If you're hesitant-stop! Just call them and let them take you through it all with ease!

My experience with this company was less than satisfactory, the paralegal that wrote my statement was poor. Lisa Ivanow first draft lacked any kind of quality, in fact i had to give her guidance on a few basics that she missed out on. Then to top it all off, the night before the hearing we discovered that the mother had used the same firm to do her bundle. Clearly no conflict check had been done by anyone in the firm, which is a basic check that any legal firm should do. When i rang family law decisions on the morning of the hearing to speak to someone about this i was fobbed of with a call back. I am still waiting for the call back very poor service and incredibly unprofessional. This resulted in me having to send an a urgent email to the judge who quite rightly dismissed the McKenzie friend from being in court , due to the conflict of interest. All in all a total waste of money and just as a comparison we got a solicitor for the next hearing which was about the same price as these clowns are charging. Do not bother with this company. check out the google reviews which are not much better either.

I used this McKenzie friend service for a first court hearing having never used one before. Initially everything was ok, I had the initial appointment with Sania and some helpful advice was given. but it was at a very fast pace. I drafted my own documents. I was not advised that I had a right to challenge the bundle prepared by the Applicants solicitor and these documents were biased towards the Applicant. The main issue however was that having discussed and liaised with Sania she then ceased communication just before the hearing which was really stressful. I was then contacted by Haleema who said she would be covering Sania for the online hearing. There was then only 60 mins to discuss the case with Haleema which meant my time for pre-hearing negotiations with the other side was lost. No one had advised me what to expect and how to prepare for the pre-hearing discussions which was an oversight on their part. The last minute switching and loss of pre-court discussions was both stressful and the solicitor in the following court hearing was very aggressive with me. Although Haleema was messaging me throughout on watsapp it was not possible to focus on the hearing and the messages at the same time. It was all extremely stressful. I came out of the hearing with an interim agreement which was not great for us. After that I got solicitor representation which cost me a fortune but I would never want to go through an experience like that again. If I were to use a McKenzie friend again I would go to a professional mcKenzie friend from elsewhere and gain a grant of right to audience so that they can speak on my behalf and find someone who has time for my case and will definitely be there ! No point developing an understanding of a case to then not be able to attend court and put in a replacement.

I'll start by saying my initial communication with them was very pleasant, when they're taking money, I was informed by a charity just after giving family law decisions 374£ that actually they're going to cover all costs for my legal action that's when my interactions with them went drastically down hill, i rang to inform I wouldn't be needing their services any more and explained the situation and asked for a refund, I was told I'd be eligible for one as no work had been completed on my behalf and that was great, 374£ for someone going through my situation is a months worth of food and nappies for my family, so I patiently waited, a few days past and still no email from the accounts team, so I rang the firm, the girl who answered initially HUFFED AND TUTTED when she realised it was me, yes I did hear that, I was then told to email accounts so I did and I have every day for 20 days, I was at one point told by Lisa it had been processed and would be done by the end of the week, another week has passed and still no communication.
Being a good business isn't all about taking the money it's also about resolving issues and this is an issue I've been begging them to resolve for a long time now, please just give me my money back, I'm a struggling single mother with no way of feeding her children.

The Mackenzie Friends Team were available immediately with understanding and sympathy on reasonable cost when no solicitor could be found in such emergency situation .The whole team members are understanding and helpful,my initial contact was with Haleema who guided me well and soon i was contacted by another competent member of the team Ms Siaana Rai who was thoroughly guiding and supporting me before ,during, and after the court hearings step by step .
I really appreciate the team support and my special Thanks to Ms Sianna Ray who travelled from a long distance was present in court before time and then gave me good guidance and feedback.

From the moment I have got in touch with Family Law Decision, I have felt that I have feet to stand on and Mrs Sania guided me through the all process, preparing me for main event. On the hearing day after I met with Mrs Sania for a short briefing we entered in the court room, but more confident than I was before my arrival. Following Mrs's Sania guidance I have managed to tick all the points that needed to be discussed and eventually I got the court order that I was waiting for.
I cannot thank you enough for the support that you have provided to me.

I've found Colin to be diligent and hard-working. He has always been on time and treated my concerns during the court proceedings with sensitivity.

I was ill advised to make an application by Sania Mahmood. She did not advise me of the implications of making such an application ie that costs cost be put on me if it failed. Lisa Ivanow then drafted 2 witness statements that although looked persuasive, would never merit me in any case. I was then passed to Haleema Raja who was the one to appear alongside me as my 'Mckenzie Friend'. In the two phone conversations that I had with Haleema prior to the hearing, I felt that she was always talking over me, never allowing me to fully get my points across and never really providing me with any blanket of certainty or advising me on anything. On the day of the hearing, prior to going before the judge, she kept on asking me what my expectations were, what outcome I was expecting and all the while again just talking over me and making me feel even more nervous. I had paid for her so Called expertise and was being provided with none. There was absolutely no firm advice coming from her at all. In the court room I felt very uneasy and asking myself exactly what did I pay her for. I feel that I could have performed much better on my own. Not only was my application dismissed but I have to now pay the other sides costs. This experience has left me very much out of pocket and I will never look to any Mckenzie type help again in the future. My advice to all reading this is, if you are confident then represent yourself or invest in proper legal help but avoid these people that charge a small fortune and deliver absolutely nothing for you!

Siaana rai was a godsend. Informative, helpful and I couldn't have got through it without her.
Costs were upfront and fixed fees. Highly recommend Siaana.

The support provided was far superior to that experienced by a solicitor.

My representative was comforting, reassuring and knowledgeable in my specific area of difficulty.

FANTASTIC! Highly recommend this service. Ali Mohammed, provided a fantastic service that was afforadble for me. He was patient and listened to the issues I was facing. Ali and his team haleped me with my position statement which was the ultimate aspect that helped my case immensely. Court is an intimidating experience, especially dealing with solicitors.
