I initially came across Fairblocks in December 2025 and spoke with Josh, who was very informative and reassuring from the outset. At the time, my service charges had nearly doubled between 2021 and 2025, and after speaking with several other organisations, including Citizens Advice, I felt completely out of my depth.
I decided to go ahead with their £99 service and provided budgets for the last three years. Within 48 hours, Josh arranged a follow up call and sent over a detailed report, which we went through together. This was extremely helpful in breaking everything down clearly.
I had been struggling to get any meaningful responses from my management company when querying charges. However, Josh stepped in and contacted them directly on my behalf, ultimately obtaining the underlying invoices for the budget.
It became clear that some of the invoices did not align with what we had been charged or what was shown in the ledger. Although the process took some time, the management company eventually reviewed and adjusted the previous years’ budgets. It turned out we had significantly overpaid, and this hadn’t been properly reflected in the sinking fund.
As a result, my service charge for 2026 has been reduced by £874.
Overall, I found the service very useful and worthwhile. I also believe the management company will be far more diligent going forward, knowing that this level of scrutiny has been applied and that escalation to tribunal was a real possibility.
