Game Changer For My Planet Sized Head
I’m so glad I came across an ad for these sunglasses. I have an absolutely enormous head — I wear a size 7 7/8 hat — and even the “XL” sunglasses from major brands usually don’t fit me properly.
I’m a serious sunglasses enthusiast. I probably own more than 50 pairs from brands like Maui Jim, Costa, Persol, Ray-Ban, Smith, Serengeti, and Vuarnet (I refuse to wear Oakleys). And despite all of those options, not a single pair has ever truly fit the way sunglasses are supposed to. A few came close — Maui Jim Peahi’s, Ray-Ban Predator 2’s, Costa Paunch XL’s, and a couple of Persols — but every pair always had at least one issue: temples too short, too tight on the sides, too narrow, sitting wrong on my face, something.
People with normal-sized heads have no idea how lucky they are. I can’t even imagine being able to buy sunglasses or hats online without trying them on first. Honestly, I would gladly pay a premium for truly custom-fit sunglasses if anyone actually offered that service. Some companies let you “customize” colors or lenses, and change temple arms, but that’s not the same thing.
Then I stumbled across this company. I honestly don’t even remember where I saw the ad, but I reached out with a few questions and Ben, the owner, personally responded. He answered everything thoroughly and made me feel confident enough to place an order.
My sunglasses arrived incredibly fast — maybe two days later, three at the absolute most. Ben even included an unexpected extra gift with my order, which genuinely meant a lot to me. That kind of personal touch is almost unheard of these days.
Now for the sunglasses themselves: THEY ACTUALLY FIT MY GIANT HEAD.
Seriously, my head is huge. Growing up skinny, I looked like an orange on a toothpick. As an adult it’s less noticeable, but finding properly fitting sunglasses has always been nearly impossible. Until now.
I ordered the Refined Gent, and I still can’t believe I finally own a well-made, stylish pair of sunglasses that truly fit my planet-sized dome. Even the temple arms fit correctly — and that’s usually the biggest problem I run into.
The quality is excellent too. These definitely do not feel cheap. The acetate frames feel substantial and premium, with a nice weight and solid construction. And for the first time in a long time, I actually think a pair of sunglasses looks good on me.
I wore them on my 45-minute drive to work this morning here in Florida around 11am, and the polarized lenses were fantastic. Crystal-clear optics, great glare reduction, and extremely comfortable to wear.
For anyone with a truly large head who has struggled their entire life to find sunglasses that actually fit properly, these were an absolute game changer for me.
