Mr Hamada conducted a thorough examination of my eyes, quickly diagnosed the problem & clearly explained the best way forward. I needed cataract surgery & a DMEK procedure & both were completed within 3 months. The DMEK was performed once suitable donor tissue became available. Both operations are a complete success. Mr Hamada was kind, friendly, easy to talk to whilst being highly professional. I recommend ECL & Mr Hamada without reservation — this is truly a superb example of a team of very professional and dedicated people providing the very best in eye care.

I’ve just had bilateral RLE surgery to address my reading and intermediate vision which has deteriorated over the last 10 years. After just 6 days my vision is amazing. Reading and intermediate is near perfect and my 20:20 distance vision has also improved, which is a complete surprise. Quite unbelievable. The results so far have surpassed my expectations and I cannot thank Mr Hamada and his team enough. Absolutely amazing!

I was at my wits end when I arrived on my first visit to him.and my eyes were in a state.
He has supported me on everything regarding my eyes.

Nothing I ask him is too much trouble.

I travel over 3 hours by train each way and it’s a very long exhausting day of trains and driving, however I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my eyes except him.

I see him about 4-5 times per year.

I feel super comfortable that I can ask him anything and he will take the time to answer me.

Mr Hamada and his team are amazing. I had bilateral cross linking surgery done and he made it as painless as possible. The surgery was very successful and the aftercare was great. I’ve had eyelid infections on and off for about five years. My lids were always red and puffy, and every few months I got another stye that took weeks to go away. I tried so many things — warm compresses, drops, antibiotics, even tablets — nothing stopped it from coming back. It started to affect my confidence because my eyes always looked sore. When I saw Dr Samer Hamada he explained that the real problem was severe MGD. No one ever told me that before. He started me on IPL, proper cleaning and gland expression.The difference was slow but real. After a few weeks the redness calmed down, and for the first time in years I didn’t get a new stye. Three months later my eyes look normal again and feel so much better. I honestly wish I found this clinic earlier — it’s the first time the problem was actually explained and properly treated.

I had an eye injury when I was about 8 years old, which left me with a damaged cornea and a misshaped front of the eye. Over the years a cataract developed, but every clinic I went to told me that it was too risky, too complex, or we cannot touch this eye. It reached a point where the vision was so blurred I could barely use that eye anymore. I felt hopeless. For the first time, someone actually took the time to study my eye properly. Mr Hamada did detailed scans and explained what the trauma had done to the anatomy and told me he had experience with these complex cases. He didn’t promise miracles. He was realistic but he did say he could operate. First, he repaired and stabilised the cornea, and once it healed he performed the complex cataract surgery safely with an excellent visual result. The surgeries went smoothly, and once healing finished, the vision in that eye was back for the first time in years. The improvement is slow but steady and I can’t thank Dr Samer enough. I will never forget the feeling of waking up the next day and being able to see light clearly through that eye again. Mr Hamada gave me something no other surgeon was willing to even attempt.

I wish I could give Mr Hamada more than five stars if the system would allow me. Several years ago, I had a chemical injury to both of my eyes, which left me severely sight-impaired (almost blind). I had a total stem cell deficiency, which caused a constant epithelial defect in both eyes (severely in the left eye), scarred corneas, a developing cataract in the left eye and a blown pupil in the left eye. From being fully independent, I had become heavily reliant on others, as some days I struggled to see the colour of my shoes that I had on. Before I met Mr Hamada, I saw different doctors who prescribed me different eye drops (which had no effect) and had no clear plan in place (to be honest, it felt to me like they did not know what to do with me). After extensive research and digging for information, I had my first appointment with Mr Hamada. Mr Hamada thoroughly examined my eyes, explained what was happening with them after the injury, and outlined a clear plan for what would be needed next to improve my vision. At the end of my appointment, I felt like I had finally met the doctor who had the knowledge and expertise with my condition and, most importantly, who I could trust with my eyes.

Throughout all of my appointments, Mr Hamada has been kind, honest, very thorough and supportive. Whenever I have an appointment, Mr Hamada’s extensive knowledge and expertise always help ease my worries and anxiety. I have had several surgeries and procedures performed by Mr Hamada, and there are a few more to have, but I know that after what I have experienced, I can fully trust Mr Hamada with my eyes.

I want to write my sincere gratitude to all of his fantastic team, who are always there to support. Every single time when I phone with my cries and sobs, they listen to my worries, my concerns, and always get back to me if something needs to be changed regarding my treatment or any advice to be given after consulting with Mr Hamada; Rachel probably knows my voice now when I say hello over the phone.

I was told by another clinic that LASIK was possible for me, but something didn’t feel right. When I went to Eye Clinic London, Mr Hamada explained that due to my cornea shape, PRK was the safer option. I truly appreciated his honesty. The recovery took a bit longer, as expected, but the final vision is fantastic. I feel fully safe knowing the right decision was made.
